Carrick deserves a starting place, he's been brilliant in keeping control. What a game!

Say what you will but Michael Carrick is going to be sorely missed when he retires.

Interesting the the spaces where created with Rashford using his pace to stretch the back four and with Rooney first and then Mata dropping deeper and trying to pick out runners with their passes. It was very promising but i suspect it's quite the opposite to what our presumed starting xi is working on with Rooney trying to stay close to Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan also moving inwards in order to link up with the big man.

Happy for the second half but also plenty for Mourinho to think about...

That second half was as promising as the first half was disappointing.

The idea that our starting line-up was close to our best team might need some reconsideration.

This game gives as many questions as answers, Carrick and Fellaini looked good but how much of that was due to the space Rashford's stretching of the game. I would like to see MS and AH given the same scenario to see how they look.

I know it's early days but I don't think Rooney and Zlatan can play together, occupying the same space, both like to drop deep into pockets and make plays. Mkhi would have looked great in the 2nd half team as that was more reminiscent of his Dortmund team with the quick plays.

Valencia made 2 great cross assists
Memphis looked good
Our passing was crisp and fast
We came out after halftime with real intent

Am I dreaming??

That would be really bad. Pogba is really bad in that position. He needs someone else behind him so he can run forward and get in and around the box.
Well, if anyone needs a player behind them, Carrick's a candidate for sure. Except De Gea. Probably.

The decision to only play a handful of preseason games is genius. We are clearly more than ready to start the league campaign and will most likely get a wild card spot for this years CL because we are too good to not be in it.

Edit: Zlatan is muppeting over Pogba on Swedish tv

We were incredible in his first preseason. Fletcher looked like Pirlo and Ashley Young was Gareth Bale mk2
Exactly  Let's not get too carried away with anyone's performance either in terms of criticism or praise. It was a good workout is what it was.

Very entertaining second half. Good outings from Rashford, Lingard, Mata, Fellaini, Carrick, well done.

Hopefully this rams home the point to Mourinho that we need PACE and MOVEMENT up front to generate offence. I'm really not sure how Ibra will fare in the PL without that attribute. We looked so much more dangerous with Rashford up top, it wasn't funny.

I think everybody could have predicted that. It is like Roonet RVP combo all over again. I like Zlatan but I don't want to see him in a Rooney partnership upfront.

Far better than Martial.
Well, Martial wasted his time with the national team. He should've spent it resting and not training and he would similarly good. ;)
