Reckon some people need to calm down about a preseason friendly. We played well against Barcelona in preseason last year. Meant sweet F.A. when the season began. Mourinho was very clear that this game, like the last, was about fitness. The players were obviously not playing at 100 per cent intensity, with the exception of Ashley Young who looked well up for it. Trying to draw anything from non-competitive performances is silly. Nobody is going to bust their backside in game like this. Why would you risk a muscle strain in a glorified kick about? Calm down people.

The midfield in the first half looked better, it was just frustration when up against Everton's 3 at the back. With the new midfield signing I'd hope that'll improve.
