    De Gea
    Valencia - Smalling - Bailly - Shaw
    Carrick
    Herrera - Pogba
    Rooney - Ibra - Rashford

Our right side is anyways useless, might as well play Rooney there, high chance of winning best crosser competing with Antonio, goals would be bonus

Not sure whether Schmeichel will be fit for us but personally I would continue with Ziegler for this game, stick with the side that beat Burnley

You know I could live with that lineup with Martial/Mhiki out injured

The midfield 3 is the important part as its what makes the entire team tick

Think Young or Mata deserve to be in the team in his place though

If Shaw is injured then I'd play Blind at LB and put Bailly in with Smalling. I think Jose will want to play Fellaini but Ander deserves to start, so I have gone for him on the right of the 3 behind Ibra as he drifted out there in the second half tonight.

    Why no Bailly?

Our team badly needs Martial to rediscover his form and Mkhi to fire. The other attacking options besides Rashford are cack.

Don't know if Carrick can play again on Saturday but it would be nice if he could. Don't want Blind to go against Vardy and Slimani.

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Smalling Darmian
    Carrick
    Herrera Pogba
    Mkhi Zlatan Martial
If Mkhi is not fit, then probably Young or Lingard on the right.

A hard fought 2-1 win for us.

Would love to see a Carrick, Herrera & Pogba midfield, with Pogba playing more advanced/in the hole. But seeing as Carrick and Herrera both played 90 last night I doubt that will happen.

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Blind Shaw

    Carrick-----Herrera
    Pogba
    Rashford-------------- Martial
    Zlatan
If Shaw is injured then play Blind LB and bring in Smalling. I feel we need to play Blind at CB if we can against a high pressing Leicester, to allow us to play out from the back with a bit of quality.

I've never been a Rooney hater, but his last two performances have been very poor and he deserves to be dropped. Actually think he started the season relatively well despite popular opinion. But after the last week he needs to be benched.

Unfortunately I don't think we will see either Blind or Carrick playing this match, no matter how much we want them to. Carrick just played 90 minutes on a Wednesday and is 35 years old. Blind has now made two mistakes in two matches that have given away goals and it remains to be seen how much Mourinho trusts him to play. For the record, I would play him because I think we lose any sense of control in the centre of the pitch without either a ball-playing centre-half or a ball-playing centre-mid.

I think the team will be:

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Smalling Shaw
    Fellaini
    Herrera Pogba
    Mata Rashford
    Ibrahimovic

I think Smalling and Bailly offer more protection against the pure pace of Vardy and Musa (if he plays) anyway and I think Fellaini can counteract the threat of Okazaki when he loves to drop into the space between the defence and midfield to try to flick a long-ball onto Vardy.

I think Mata will start because of his complete lack of involvement last night and Rashford because you can't really leave him out, especially with Martial playing badly and being concussed. Pogba will play because he has to to get through this initial tough period and Herrera should be alongside him because he brings so much to midfield that we lack otherwise (energy and passion and a genuine will to win).

It is going to be a tough game - they are going to be well up for it given their and our recent results (we're fragile as a snowflake and they've had some embarrassing matches against Liverpool and Chelsea) and will come right at United. Hopefully we show some control of the game but without Blind or Carrick I think it is going to be difficult.

Assuming that Martial won't pass fit, I'd have a front 3 of Rashford, Zlatan and Mata

Midfield 3 of Pogba, Herrera and either Carrick or Blind. Wouldn't mind seeing Blind sit back and play DM

Normal back line unless Shaw is out, at which point I'd probably go with Darmian

This is a crucial match. A big win could calm everyone down and boost confidence, a loss and everyone is going to be panicking

I know a second game in 4 days will be tough for Carrick but he's barely played this season so he should be pretty fresh and the case for his inclusion is compelling after his performance against Northampton. Start him and bring him off if he is tiring.

Given that Shaw and Martial are out, Id like to see:

    De Gea
    Valencia - Bailly - Smalling - Blind
    Herrera - Carrick - Pogba
    Mkhitaryan - Ibra - Rashford

Rooney just can't start this. Whether Mou has been trying to play him into form or didn't realise how far he's declined I don't know but he is so far off the standard required it's going to cost us dearly if he carries on playing.

    Would like to see this,

    ---------Carrick---------
    ---Herrera---Pogba----
    Rash----Ibra----Martial

Don't know whether Martial or Mhkitaryan are fit but would like to see Mhiki in there somehow.

Are Shaw and Martial definitely out?
If so - agree with that team.

According to PhysioRoom they are though there is no return date for either of them which I guess could mean they are doubts, rather than definitely out.

If they are available I would play them both, Shaw in as a straight swap, Martial in for Miki with Rashford switching sides. In which case Miki should definitely come on as a sub. I want to see him being integrated ASAP, but considering his season so far a sub appearance this w/e would probably be best.

Not my preferred team, but what we'll actually field:

    DDG
    Valencia - Smalling - Bailly - Shaw
    Fellaini
    Rooney - Pogba
    Mata - Zlatan - Young

We draw 1-1. Rooney to accidentally be at the end of a tap-in for our goal in an otherwise forgettable performance.

If it's Rojo against Mahrez then we might aswell give up now. I can't see that ending well at all. :nervous:

I will lose all faith in jose if he picks rooney
Same. I know it's premature to write off a new manager, but if he can't take the big decision, he shouldn't be in the chair. And if Rooney really has a play clause in his contract, the club should say so.

This time, no way Rooney starts! (Unless there's a major injury crisis up front.)
There is no injury crisis, but Rooney shall play.
As long as Rooney can stand without crutches, he shall be the first name on the teamsheet.
In fact, not only will he be playing the full 90 mins, he shall be made captain.

The only way he can be dropped if he were to score 3 own goals in a game. And even then, I think Jose will try to find a reason to play him in the next game.

You think Rooney will play in midfield?
Did Jose not explicitly state that Rooney shall never play in midfield?

I think Carrick will be too tired to play this, so we will have to see how Blind can do as the DM.
Except Shaw and Martial look injured and Mou was still not too impressed with Carrick, Blind will never play DM as long as we have Fellaini, Carrick and Morgan there. And Fellaini hasnt given a reason for Mou to drop him.
