'tis a silly place
Newcastle went from being a vibrant attacking side under Keegan to having a side containing Stuart Pearce, Ian Rush and John Barnes, all close to 40, when Dalglish came in. All 3 of them seemed out of place in Newcastle shirts.

Who the feck are these guys?
Yugo's brightest prospects :houllier:. Misspelled its Balic not Bolic. He came from Fenerbahce for 26mio back in the late 90s :houllier: similarly bad as Perica who was supposed to be the next big thing from Crvena Zvezda - apparently they had to ditch the then 17 year old Eto'o so they could sign him. Petkovic just wasn't ment to play in Europe. Went to Brazil and become some sort of a cult hero for Flamengo - Can read more about him here

Hierro for Bolton

Fergie at Rangers. Can't get my head round him not being a manager.

Pirlo at Brescia supplied Baggio with one of my favourite long passes ever against Juve for that goal.

Did anyone say Edwin van der Sar at Fulham?

World Class keeper at a lower-mid PL team, nowhere near past his prime either. Maybe the equivalent of Cech playing for Crystal Palace in todays football. Except Edwin was even better.

Petkovic was immense for Flamengo. It was weird seeing Brazilians drooling over a player from the Balkans. He was rated almost as their best player since Zico despite a certain Adriano being in the same team.

Peter Beardsley played for United
He was transferred to Canadian club Vancouver Whitecaps on 9 September 1982, but his stay in North America was brief. Only weeks after arriving in Canada, he was on his way back to England when Ron Atkinson paid £250,000 to take him to Manchester United, after veteran former assistant manager Jimmy Murphy saw Beardsley playing in Canada and urged Atkinson to sign him. He made just one first team appearance for United in a Football League Cup tie against AFC Bournemouth before returning to Vancouver on a free transfer on 1 March 1983, but again his stay in North America was a short one. He was on the move once again on 23 September 1983, this time to join Newcastle.
wow, didn't know that.
