It won't be easy at all. They are defensive and awful to watch. This has all the ingredients for one of those painful goalless draws in far flung Eastern Europe. They drew their previous two home games in the group. We just about beat them at Old Trafford.
So no, this won't be easy.
I am not saying that the atmosphere will be intimidating due to fans (there won't be galatasaray stadium level atmosphere in Odessa), all I am saying is that Zorya will play for their fans. Odessa is a fairly big city in the Ukraine, so the Ukranian players will lots of fans supporying them, and will try to make history. I doubt any of their players will play against United ever again.True. 685km from their home though. But guess you’re right. Their home match vs Feyenoord had total attendance of 16’855, incl. the Dutch fans, doubt the atmosphere will be too hard to handle. We’ll see.
Mkhitaryan was at the press conference yesterday, and Mourinho said that player who does it plays, right? Or maybe that was because of the launguage?I guess Lingard and Rashford might start with a view towards resting Mkhitaryan and Martial for Sunday. Whether or not Mata plays will be a good indication of Jose's approach to Sunday too, I think.
It could also be that a lot of "locals" will be cheering on us.I am not saying that the atmosphere will be intimidating due to fans (there won't be galatasaray stadium level atmosphere in Odessa), all I am saying is that Zorya will play for their fans. Well the very best Carrick can do is to run around his house in UK.Plant Zlatan and Fellaini up top, Rooney just behind, let Carrick, Blind and Pogba stay static in the midfield and play long balls. No need to run unnecessarily on this pitch.
If by being relaxed you mean complacent, I doubt it. I just hope that they will make an early mistake while parking their bus and will go gung-ho to prove a point. Here's hoping for two nill in our favour. It could also be that a lot of "locals" will be cheering on us.

It is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion for their players, I just think they'll be relaxed in the wrong way. They'll be apparently missing their captain, their Ukraine national team LB and their brazilian CB (2nd top scorer).
Yeah, I was thinking the same. We've fielded very strong lineups in this competition so far, and I can't believe Jose won't see this as a way of progressing to the CL next season. Wouldn't surprise me if he thinks this is our best bet, given our inconsistent league form.I am too. Although playing a few key players tonight might seem a risk, Jose has already invested too much in advancing in this competition to leave anything to chance.
Or they could be nervous. We’ll seeIf by being relaxed you mean complacent, I doubt it. I just hope that they will make an early mistake while parking their bus and will go gung-ho to prove a point. Here's hoping for two nill in our favour.
It's pretty accurate, stars are long burnt out before we actually get to see them.
I am all for having that panned out as you suggest.Or they could be nervous. We’ll see
United twitter took a hammering for that Calculated risk, I guess. It's pretty accurate, stars are long burnt out before we actually get to see them.
Thanks. I hope so too.Pretty sure it’s Young, although hope it’s TFM.
The conditions in terms of pitch and weather won’t be easy, these and as our away form in Europe suggests, could be in for a long night… Just think the quality difference between the sides might show and we get a 2-3 goal win. Probably not thoughI am all for having that panned out as you suggest.
For what it’s worth, Mail says TFM is likely to start. So I’d say Young is pretty much nailed on.Thanks. I hope so too.
He hates us.
Not as much as we hate him I appreciate the pen in Moscow, the free kick vs Arsenal etc. But playing for Citeh and badmouthing our medical department (even though our injury record is abysmal)…He hates us.
Pretty sure I'm one of the very very few on the caf who likes Hargreaves. Got called out for it in 'The guy above you' thread as wellNot as much as we hate him I appreciate the pen in Moscow, the free kick vs Arsenal etc. But playing for Citeh and badmouthing our medical department (even though our injury record is abysmal)…
Guess not all hate him. And actually hate is too strong. At the time he signed for City and talked shite about, it was hate, but he's kind of irrelevant, grey, James Milner-ish, you know.Pretty sure I'm one of the very very few on the caf who likes Hargreaves. Got called out for it in 'The guy above you' thread as well
Daw!! Time to change my lineup prediction.Well the very best Carrick can do is to run around his house in UK.
Yeah, it appears to be on, probably no further confirmations as all papers reported the ”green light” this morning.is the game still going ahead or will there be confirmation closer to the time?
He's clearly calling for a 2:0 home win there. Sod you Hargreaves!
one of my subs. Can't imagine Bailly will be getting any minutes tonight. Surprised he's in the squad.
BBC say he's "set to return". He was on the bench on Sunday, so it sounds like they think he's playing. No idea how much they know though. Can't imagine Bailly will be getting any minutes tonight. Surprised he's in the squad.
We can go through by losing as well - how sad would that beWe only need a draw tonight don't we, no matter what happens in other games? We go ahead of anyone we finish level on points with due to H2H.
I hope we totally hammer them though, as I'm not confident in our ability to see out a result.
Draw and we're through, win we might go top, lose we might go out.We only need a draw tonight don't we, no matter what happens in other games? We go ahead of anyone we finish level on points with due to H2H.

Yeah well he's in the squad, it just seems like a bit of a daft idea if his first game back is on a concrete pitch.BBC say he's "set to return". He was on the bench on Sunday, so it sounds like they think he's playing. No idea how much they know though.
Exactly, two months out with a knee injury, playing on a bone-hard pitch will do him no good at all, although United only have 5 defenders in the squad (Young can play fullback obviously also).Yeah well he's in the squad, it just seems like a bit of a daft idea if his first game back is on a concrete pitch.
Agreed, I had him in my line-up until I heard about the pitch, it would be madness to play him on it in his first game back.Yeah well he's in the squad, it just seems like a bit of a daft idea if his first game back is on a concrete pitch.
True.Yeah well he's in the squad, it just seems like a bit of a daft idea if his first game back is on a concrete pitch.
cant stand this prick !!
