    I'd expect:-

    De gea
Valencia Young Bailly Jones Smalling Rojo Darmian Blind
    Fellaini Carrick

    A solid 8-2-0.

Is this the final game Zlatan is suspended for?

A must win, I'm afraid it will be "one of those games" once again. These guys are dangerous on corners, I believe they've scored the most goals in set-piece situations in the Premier League. Just don't commit stupid fouls in dangerous areas and if we take our chances we should beat them comfortably.

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Rojo Blind
    Pogba Fellaini
    Mata Mkhi Martial
    Rashford
We always concede silly free-kicks. We must prepare ourselves for some nervy moments. But atleast we are better than Arsenal at defending set-pieces.

Same thing was said when we played them earlier this season. I can't remember any decent chance for them tbh.
Actually after I posted I thought about that game, in which we pretty much nullified them and scored a couple of good goals ourselves. We may be fine in this upcoming game, as we were last time, but I also think it's worth noting they are demonstrably strong at corners and our defensive heading has been highlighted as needing work (not to mention Pogba having been led a merry dance by Lovren that time).

In conclusion West Brom will definitely monster us from corners, unless they don't.

I remember Rondon had been in great form prior to that game and everyone was sure he would score against us. Yet,he was really quiet.

I think we will be fine. We will probably see a lineup close to yesterday, bar maybe Micky instead of Mata or Lingard. Hopefully no one gets injured during the international break.

You could well be right and I agree on the line-up. I think Jose needs to get onto some international managers and be as much of a prick as he possibly can be to get our lads out of as many international matches as possible.

Agree, especially Valencia and Micky. Unfortunately they are too important for their national teams to be dropped.

    De Gea
    Bailly--Smalling--Rojo
    Valencia--Pogba--Fellaini--Young
    Mkhitaryan--Rashford--Martial

subs: Romero, Jones, Shaw, Carrick, Lingard, Mata, Rooney

    But I would prefer:

    De Gea
    Valencia--Bailly--Rojo--Shaw
    Pogba--Carrick
    Mata--Mkhitaryan--Martial
    Rashford

I believe Valencia plays the 28th for Equador, plus the long travel. If he wasn't the machine, he could be spared for Young.

Rojo will also play the 28th in Bolívia, probably in high altitude...

Win at all costs, simple. Don't care if it's beautiful or ugly, just win this one.

I'd stick to the team that played Boro (assuming Pogba is still out):

    De Gea
    Bailly - Smalling - Rojo
    Valencia - Carrick - Fellaini - Young
    Mata - Rashford - Lingard
If by the 60th minute we are not ahead, take off Smalling for Mkhitaryan and go 4-2-3-1

Any other of our squad players who aren't on international duty, besides just Young, Mata, Carrick, Pogba, Schweinsteiger, Rooney, Martial, and Ibrahimović?

Just hope we revert to 4-2-3-1 with Mkhitaryan back at #10 and Martial gets back to his game. If we're going to end the season playing 3-4-3, it ain't going to be pretty.

Having said that, I'm starting to think the change to 3-4-3 (3-5-2 sometimes) or a very defensive asymmetrical counterattacking 4-4-2 maybe is going to be definitive for the rest of the season. And the main reason for it is the sheer number of defensive players options we have against the fewer in midfield (now that Schweinsteiger's gone, even less) and attack. This, in conjunction with the incredible number of games we're probably playing, most of them difficult away games, makes me very much doubt the pragmatic Mourinho will allow us to see again the nice free-flowing attacking football we had glimpses of, even with Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Martial, and Ibrahimović all fit, and that's really a pity.

Is Rojo still first choice LB for Argentina? I remember someone else playing there last time. Rojo should actually play CB alongside Otamendi. But I would be perfectly happy if he stays on the bench.

Let's ignore the fact Shaw's been shit.

Yeah, that's my thinking too. Valencia and/or Rojo will probably not feature.

That's a bit harsh. He might be shit in training (we don't know) but in the handful of games he played he hasn't looked shit. His last game against Bournemouth was not bad at all.

With Smalling and Jones injured we don't have other options but to play Rojo and Bailly. Blind is an option but WBA are very good at scoring from set pieces, so we need CBs with good heading ability.

Wait, when did Smalling get injured? Only Jones is out. The rest are fine.

Maybe I read few posts incorrectly. Glad Smalling is fit, we need his presence to deal with WBA set pieces.

Smalling is fit, but your point still stands. Ideally we play Rojo.

Seeing as they scored from 2 corners vs Arse I think we'll field a big powerful side. Fellaini will feature.
They have scored 18 goals from set pieces.

WBA have scored most goals from set pieces than any other team. ManUtd have conceded least goals from set pieces than any other team.

Yeah Rojo with Smalling for this game. I'm very sure it will be 3 CBs though which is shame given we have struggled to create chances like before.

Hopefully not. WBA are very strong in the air from dead ball situations, this is literally the worst game to play Blind at centre back. Our best defender in the air is Smalling, he needs to be on the pitch.

If Jose goes offensive, I expect this line up:

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Smalling Rojo
    Pogba Fellaini
    Mata Mkhitaryan Martial
    Rashford
If he goes more defensive I expect this:
    De Gea
    Bailly Smalling Rojo
    Valencia Pogba Fellaini Young
    Mkhitaryan Martial
    Rashford

I'm sure Jose won't be happy about this game coming just 13 days after the Middlesbrough match. Could it not have been held off until Sunday to give our boys an extra night's sleep?

Oh, my, the combination of Bailly's heading technique with Smalling's feet finesse against West Brom…

Is this supposed to be ironic, or am I misreading it? We're the team with most internationals, lots of them will play on the 28th and will have long flights awaiting them…

Yes he's being ironic. If you look at his recent posts most of them involve ridiculing Jose for complaining about the schedule.

We'll be looking at a very similar travelling squad from the 'Boro game, barring any further injuries and late arrivals obviously. Should see Rooney back, maybe Pogba but a hamstring injury is very touch and go so my first thought would be that he'd make it back for Everton, along with Herrera and Zlatan.
