Never had a problem with any of their nerfs. They monitor how prominent decks are and those, as with the instance of pirate warrior, that are played far too regularly are then adjusted. Ladder play has become tedious playing aggro Shaman and pirate every time.
They also monitor interactiveness of decks, although I've played a bit of freeze myself in the past its a terrible deck to play against. There's zero battle for the board and it becomes a case of whether freeze gets the draw they are after. Where's the fun in that for the opposition?
Hopefully the small nerves to spirit claws and small time buccaneer will see a slight shift in focus.
I understand a lot of people don't like playing against freeze mage and I'm not too mad about it being nerfed but mainly because it is so self contained in the classic set and people have been playing it since release. However I think decks like that are great overall in a rotating format. I get the complaint about interactivity but that's more a fault of the game itself I think. For example hyper aggro decks are not exactly that interactive either. They just hope they draw their best face bashing cards and ignore everything you do.
The main things I would love for HS to introduce are :
1. some type of reactionary plays similar to instants from Magic or trap cards from yugioh.
2. An in client tournament mode that allows you to play bo3 or bo5 for example.
3. An improved limited format like sealed or cube draft. My favorite type of format in Magic but I can't stand Arena in HS.
It's a good game don't get me wrong. If you search up hearthstone on the forums you'll see I've been its biggest advocate here, but many long time players do share similar frustrations where at times it feels like Blizzard aren't fulfilling the games potential or are moving far too slowly.
