Hopefully we win, but a 0-0 or a 1-1 would hardly surprise.

We've just been really poor since 2017.

Not feeling confident about this at all. Don't know why, but I have a bad feeling about this. I don't like saying this, but I think we will lose this.

Wow, so many moaning, whinging "supporters" on here the last few days (weeks, months, years ...) So many sour posts of doom & gloom; I think I'm gonna slit my wrists, ... feck!

Like the world owes you a team that wins every friggin' game, plays beautiful attractive football every g'dam match, yet is still aggressive & bold all the time, taking shit from no one and oh yeah, every player is an unbreakable superstar. You're dreamin'!

I've got news for ya; "life ain't like that" not often anyway. I will remind you we've been way more fortunate that most in that regard, just not right now!

Let's just face it, our current "United", is a team in progress. Playing a much better, watchable style and creating more good chances than we've seen in a few long years now and we;ve remained largely unbeaten 'cause we're still hard to score against apparently.

No, not every game but most, and usually against teams that are only interested in just getting a point. And certainly not coming to entertain anybody in the stadium or at home for that matter, (even though "entertaining" is how they supposedly generate money & personal income ... through TV "entertainment" compensation; they don't care, they just know that it's very possible to get a point and maybe (but rarely) all 3, because we don't have all the pieces yet. And if they DO lose, they can say the were "expected" to lose. The top 6 all face a similar battle, but there's still "Only One United" and teams across the globe cherish a point here at any cost.

All that said, we still have enough talent & where-with-all to kill most teams who play any type of "open" game against us and again I recognise not all teams; and yes, I admit there are teams better than us, some only very slightly, and a few considerably so, but over all we still have a top side. Hard to beat and still in with a slight chance of a top 4 finish; not likely, but the fat lady hasn't started to clear her throat yet.

But it's also a team with a reasonable chance of European hardware this year, despite some untimely injuries & suspensions and a feck of a schedule, we're still favoured by many to win it!

But hey, that's football, that's what makes us happy and can make us sad (or pissed) and I get that, but feck me the I'm tired of all the "Shite, I'm sick of watching this mess every week" That bull shit serves no useful purpose. "Don't wanna watch" ... then "don't feckin' watch". And please spend a little less time moaning about it on the caf and a little more talking up what we do well (even if it's not much) or focus on what certain players do well. Try it for a change, you might feel better.

So what are we to do, commit hari-kari? No! Here's to a little more "support" & a little less "manc" depression. (c'mon, that's funny)

Back to football; On the bright side, Jose is learning who he trusts and who can do the job ...

I think Jose believes (and I think I agree) our best team at the moment has to include DDG obviously, and has Valencia, Rojo, Bailly & Young as the back four. (Young has earned that spot imo) Will Shaw get a chance or two - perhaps, but if fit, it sounds like Young & Blind will get the nod in the most important games from here on in.

Carrick can still play an important role in front of the back four, despite his lack of pace & mobiliyu but he desperately needs players with speed & quickness in front of him, Herrrera & Ideally Pogba answer that call but his (Pogs) absence, then Mkhi needs to help create space & openings so the likes of Ibra & the "kids" can get on the ball and (try to) finish.

Unfortunately even though they train with Ibra, the young lads still still lack the noos, experience, know-how, whatever you want to call it to get the job done often enough, yet but they will just have to keep trying!

So, cut to the chase; our best attacking, yet stingy 11 is

    ---------------DDG---------------
    Tony----Bailly------Rojo----Ashley
    -------------Carrick---------------
    -------Mkhi------Ander-----------
    Marcus----------------Anthony---
    ------------Ibra-------------------

Rooney, Lingard & Fellaini will all have a role to play, and may start against the toffees & some others during the run-in. But those 14 plus Pogba can beat what is a slightly weakened Everton line up, (as well as every team they may face in Europe) especially with no Coleman at LB. That'll be a particularly big miss for them blues. Lukacu depends on those crosses.

    I'm just sayin! :boring:

    Great post! :applause:

This could be the game i've cared about the least in the league all season. Saturday was just the killer blow for me. Could see this being abother draw in truth. Good to have Zlatan back though, boy do we need him.

Completely change the front line for this being as our front 4 only made 6 passes into the opposition box on saturday.

    Zlatan
    Rashford Pogba Miki

Need the 3 points here. Chelsea next aint we?
Everton will show more ambition then those Baggies so i think we'll score one or two.

Nah, Sunderland at the weekend first. Then EL followed by Chelsea.

Now that Zlatan, Herrera and Pogba are back in the team let's make some changes and hopefully we'll be able to get some flair back in front of goals.

We are defending well. Valencia, Bailly and Rojo are doing the job. Fellaini and Carrick did well too, but it's in the transition that we're weak these days. We miss magic moments, magic runs, magic passes etc.

I don't expect us to win easily this game, Everton are tough and near us in terms of points this year so they will cause us issues, and not only with Lukaku.

We need some changes upfront today. I know that he's useless and will frustrate us, but Wayne will have to play tonight after Rashford Mkhi Lingard and Martial were poor against WBA. At least he deserves a chance to play and provide something to the team. Maybe his anger, his positioning in the field.

Ah, the old 4-2-3-1-2 formation. Why don't more teams play that?

Still can't see anything other than a draw. Predictions for the way the game unfolds...

    - Majority of the game = pinball in midfield with neither team being able to string much together.
    - Lukaku bulldozing Bailly and Rojo around, and grabbing a goal.
    - All of our attacking play revolving around hitting the ball centrally to Zlatan who is constantly outnumbered.

    1-1. Zlatan and Lukaku.

Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are among the top five players with the worst shot conversion rate in the Premier League.

Rooney: 31 shots, two goals, 6.5% conversion rate

Rashford: 35 shots, three goals, 8.6% conversion rate

Martial: 30 shots, three goals, 10% conversion rate

I can almost guarantee Mkhitaryan won't start this match today. He seems to be one of those who if he has one bad game, Mourinho will lose a bit of faith in him.

I was thinking this too. Wouldnt surprise me to see Lingard and Rashford on the 'wings' behind Zlatan, which would be shocking really - our strongest 'wingers' for such a formation would be Mkhi and Martial who offer more creative/attacking threat (even if both have been poor, Lingard and Rashford have been equally non existent for the most part).

I was actually encouraged a little by Martial at the weekend. Far from perfect for sure, but I'd think he deserves another start today personally.
No Valencia in the squad against Everton.
That's worrying, about our only consistent out-field performer that was still available for selection.

God I hated that game. I just knew we lost the title after the 4-4.

But we actually didn't play Wigan next. We already played them and lost. Then we just had to not lose vs City like you mentioned, but we just lost our way.

You're right. Funny how the memory forgets!

We were in some really good form just before as well. I went to the 5-0 win at Wolves in the wrong end, and Valencia was incredible that day. I remember it especially well, as i'd gambled putting him in the fantasy team, and he exploded.

This Sam Luckhurst guy, who said he didn't see Valencia, seems to have him in his predicted lineup. So maybe there's still hope.

If Valencia is not playing... OMG we'll be in trouble. The only player who plays on the wing for us !

Meaning that we won't have anything on either wing and we'll be predictable and closed in the middle tonight.

Just hope that Tony plays has Ashley Young or Matteo Darmian are not a good options at the back against Everton.

    Then, it'll be a 3-4-3

United is like a bloody drug! Last match I swore I would not watch another PL match this season  Now I'm ready and confident they'll beat Everton

    My lineup for the game

    De Gea
    Young Bailly Rojo Blind
    Herrera
    Fellaini Pogba
    Lingard Zlatan Mkhi
