As usual bringing on Fellaini to 'see the game out' backfires spectacularly once more.

How many times must we lose out on a victory trying to defend a lead before Mourinho learns.

This isn't his old Chelsea team, scoring one goal and then neutralizing the opponent isn't an option for us.

Sort it the feck out, Mou.
I'm not sure he knows how to play any other way.

Another draw when we should have scored 2-3 goals easily. Mkhitaryan was good in patches. He scored a valuable goal for us. Martial has been very poor today. Had the opportunity to take it to the opposition but he was intercepted every time. No crosses or goal opportunities created. Rashford was amazing. He was making a lot of runs and taking it to the opposition. Martial just seems to have lost the drive to do better. He's been mediocre all season. Pogba and Carrick dominated the game largely. Zlatan had a mediocre performance as well. Nothing too special from him. But Martial was just poor when he came on. Didn't have much of an impact.

Jose needs to sell Martial back to Monaco before he scores a goal and we have to pay them 8 million more..

Opposition have basically no chances. We create several good chances that great attackers would thrive on. Our attackers and midfielders miss several of these great chances. A Fellaini substitution costs us a goal and attackers win

If our season were a game we've just seen it play out in 90 minutes.

Don't know about you but I see this shite almost every game. Score a goal and forget playing football.
The thing is Anderlecht didn't always defend with 10 men. They were often open on counters and any functional attacking team could score more than one goal.

I guess you're right, it's occuring more often as we see same players failing to do their job.

Give peas a chance.
Negative stuff on here.
That was very close to an ideal European away. On top throughout, away goal, fairly comfortable, should have scored more.
Late goal is a blow, but we're still massive favourites here!
Anderlecht were poor first half and upped their game in the second, but I'm with you, it's not like other managers haven't played defensively in European away ties.
Pathetic. Pogba has to be dropped for me, he's ran out of chances a while ago with his pointless and rather counterproductive holding of the ball on every break we get.

Mourinho is testing my patience at this point. I thought he might finally change his ways, even if only slightly, to accommodate the United ethos of attack, but no, we see 30 minutes of camping in our own half and unsurprisingly concede, when the game was there for the taking as well.
Along with Carrick, I thought Pogba was one of our better players. He was far more forward thinking that you're giving him credit for, considering he was playing pretty deep for most of the game. Obviously people will focus on his miss toward the end, but I think you're being overly harsh.

You guys are miserable bunch. Sure, it would have been nice to win the game, but 1:1 is not a bad result being away.
It was a miserable performance 90 minutes long and again we couldn't beat a team that is clearly weaker than us in every department of the game.

For a manager that has so much talk about his winning mentality he sure doesn't win alot. He better finds a way not to cock this up at OT or else he will have completley lost my support.

Is this team ready to go up against Europe's elite in the CL next season?

Need 2 more big signings IMO.
The longer I watch this side the more relieved I am that we aren't in the CL this season.

We'd have got pastings of the likes of Monaco and Dortmund let alone the elites

Jose you are showing your true colours. Shut up shop shit.
He was happy with a one nil as usual.
Could have rested players for the second leg if he had instructed to keep up that first half performance.
Jose you've got to move away from the Chelsea (mark 1)model and be a lot more flexible with your tactics.
Frustrating

I don't get why Mou time and time again decides to try and defend the lead and not get another goal. It doesn't work and it has cost us several times this season. And why on earth doesn't Fellaini mark his man?!

A better team puts Anderlecht away 3 or 4 nil. United at this moment in time are not a champions league team hence why we struggle to put teams away in most games

Could have put some confidence in the team with a big win ready for Chelsea but fecked it up big time in the second half, Sunday is going to be scary.

Such a frustrating game.

2nd half was fecking rubbish, we were playing at walking pace instead of getting a 2nd away goal and killing it. The lack of composure in the final 3rd is infuriating, how do they manage to choose the wrong option every time?

1-1 away from home is a decent result but it should have been so much better. Same old shite we've had all season.

I dont blame Mourinho for trying to kill off the game.

But bringing on Fellaini to do so is the wrong choice.

TFM would have been the better choice. Even Ander ffs.

Our team is an absolute joke. What are they on a football pitch for? No final touch, no final pass and no final shot! Just complacent, lazy and pathetic. Martial has pissed me off no end there. Pogba with another trademark finish falling on his ass one on one like a girl playing football for the first time! Misplacing passes, no attacking impetus. He puts Fellaini on for the final insult who loses his marker and puts them right back in this tie! This team is miles away from the top class and it's unacceptable. We will not win this competition and we will not get top four. It's a disgrace how casual we are in the final third. I am done expecting the minutest effort from this team.

Rashford and Lingard were kids out there again, btw. Impossible, just impossible to expect anything from this team of low-IQed zombies out there.
Chill out for feck sake. We got an away goal in a european tie.

Great first half, very poor second half. General half-arsedness, not enough urgency, not enough ambition.

The fact that's worrying me the most is that we're near the end of the season and our attackers still look like they've just met. They can hardly exchange 2-3 clever passes and do a bit of give and go. We reach the edge of the box and they just stand looking at each other.

Pogs and Carrick were the 2 best players on the pitch for us. Pogs showed a lot more urgency than anyone else in that 2nd half, so he shades the motm for me.

Viewed in isolation it wasn't too different a performance than what we used to see in Europe under Fergie. It was stultifying but looked like it would do the job right up until they scored.

I really really hope it gets better next season, I'm seriously starting to fall out of love with football.

With each and every game, i get more and more annoyed by Mourinho. If he can't get his team to play fluently as a team by now, then i really question his abilities. I'm not talking about tactics and the such, i mean the mentality in the team and the sync between the different parts.

No it won't. It will be a nice 1:1.
