    Didn't we get beat 3-0?

    Less of the same please.

    Pogba didn't travel.
Yes, but we were 0-0 till the 70th minute. Then Fosu-Mensah got injured and on came Darmian.

Didn't know about Pogba. If we lose, it will be because we don't have enough in midfield to overcome their press. First time I'm missing Fellaini.

Ideal opportunity for McTominay to announce himself. Now if we only could get José to start him..

Gone for 5-0 because there isn't anything bigger than that.

Fancy Kane to break his duck against us and score hat trick with Alli and Son also chiming in with a goal each.

Disastrous season about to get a whole lot worse. We better win the EL.

I just don't care about the result. I only hope key players are either rested or come away unscathed.

If we can defend well and pinch a goal late in the game, great. If we look like we've taken a strong mixture of horse tranquilisers and booze, so be it.

    Europa final is everything.

If he can put in another great performance here today he'll really solidify himself in Mourinho's books I reckon. Two good games against Arsenal and Spurs is absolutely nothing to sniff at.

6th place with 3 games to go. Pretty much giving up on the league already.

With the money spent and the players signed it's been a terrible season and you know it. Mourinho has a lot of work to do in the Summer. I don't want to go off topic but it's clear as day it's been a poor season.

Qualification for the Champions League is the goal and we are on the verge of doing just that, while winning two trophies in the process. Horrific stuff!!

They can beat is 10-0 and we still have the chance to have the better season than them.

It seems I was the only one less impressed with Tuanzebe on the ball for some reason.

    Don't be daft
Smalling is a liability, especially in high pressure games. Do you not remember him shitting the bed at West Ham in a game for top 4, scoring an own goal to deny De Gea the golden glove and getting torn to shreds and a red card in the FA cup final last season? Ajax's nippy attackers will have a field day with him.

As opposed to Tuanzebe who has started one game for the first team at RB? It's not even a comparison.

That's why i said if he impresses over the next 2 or 3 games. Smalling has had 30 odd chances to and hasn't, including a performance against Arsenal in which he got totally outclassed by Tuanzebe. Spurs will be a great test for him.

Mourinho won't start a player with 3 or 4 senior appearances for the club in a European final unless it's enforced, and rightly so too. You're getting way too excitable about one game (and he wasn't even that impressive).

Carrick's against all those who think resting players all the way to the final is good:
“We need to keep that edge for the cup final - you can’t cruise through the next three games and then expect to be ready for the final. Whoever plays in the games, you’ve got to play with everything you’ve got and play to that level.”

So are people heavily invested in this one or are we following the managers lead and saying feck it, it doesn't matter?

This isn't me over hyping Tuanzebe. This is me with absolutely no faith in Smallings ability as a defender or Jones's ability to stay fit for 10 days. Mourinho doesn't seem to have any faith in the pair either.

I had that approach for the Arsenal game tbh. Want to see 2/3 youngsters given an opportunity along with some fringe players and a few first reamers. There's a balance between resting players and keeping them match fit for the final.

Ajax won't have a competitive game before the final for 10 days, they will finish the league on 14 May then rest 10 days preparing for the final. If our players aren't fresh enough, they will outplay us as what South did in EFL cup final when they got 15 days of rest and preparation and the rest were more fresher side than us.

So yes some players need to get enough rest to match Ajax freshness in the final.
Against Southampton in the final, half the team had played in the previous Thursday night, and the rest just a week ago, after some serious run of games. It's not comparable, if we only play the starters now a week before the final, having rested them the games before, like we're doing. Anyhow, we don't have to have as many rest as them. Actually, in this phase, a 13 days rest should be counterproductive, and we might see some players out of focus.

Expecting a miserable performance / day today.

Off to the beach instead of watching us get outplayed.

Stupid thing, didn't we know about Ali after the 4-0 pasting at MK Dons ?

Personally I think they will spank us 8:0.

We did but it was impossible to know he would have this impact. Similar to martial for us.

Since we are out of the top 4 run, it's ok to lose i guess. Even spurs might not be up to the mark knowing the league is over. Might be a boring game.

If we somehow won today, and I mean somehow, does anyone still give us an outside chance?

It's never ok to lose, the game may be less meaningless for the fans but if the players have any professional pride they'll still do everything they can to win.

There's no excuse not to give our all and try and get something from the game, even if it's only pride.

Yeah. Winnings a habit that we should try to keep until the final. 3 losses leading up to it would be terrible for morale, even if they're meaningless.
