I've barely watched any football this season aside from united games and all i can say is we're so far away from the quality of Real Madrid it's a bit sad :(

Watching the champs league final, the majority of the RM players were so comfortable on the ball, could beat players and incredibly composed. I can't see us winning at all. Definitely will be a game where it's going to be camped in our half. It's a shame as there will be lots of people in the world watching. I hope it's more even than I think it will be, just for our brand's sake!

Losing to Comeback Winning!
May Real Madrid have a poor pre-season training before the Super Cup, cause of over-celebrating defending the CL Cup.

Mourinho is quite strict in pre-season, making preparations well.

 Come'on, add another trophy~

It was a horrible positioning from their defense I don't know why you don't consider it this but it's up to you . It has nothing with Real deserving win or not, they deserved it completely and were far better but I am talking from Juve point of view now, this is not their defense best day by any means.

The 2-0 lose to Barca wasn't really a surprise for me, the 3-1 final was the embarrassing one, though. I try to forget the second half of this final but I still can't. Will easily make Top 3 worst SAF matches ever.
I didn't say I don't consider it just that theser things have happened and sometimes they pay with a goal (like last night) and sometimes it doesn't. Obviously their defence wasn't at their best but if you look at things from their POV but I tend to look at things from a general POV and not one team's.

If we go with the new signings ( supposedly fabinho if he comes or anyother ) our midfeild has the same quality as madrid's with more physicality. Valencia can match or even dominate marcelo's energy at right full back, bailly and a new cb can match madrid's too. Lb will be a vunrable area and the attack too is weaker even with new signings. but if we are defensively good we can compete toe to toe even in midfeild area.. So we can belive inourselves . I feel fellani will be a weapon in this game and he can trouble madrid defense a lot in the air, so will pogba. We can fight with all our pride and stop madrid defensively most of the time. Our passing is not like juventus so a few long balls can realy trouble them with a target man and release the pressure in our own half.

Juventus simply let the fullbacks overrun their fullbacks too many times and payed the price with ronaldo's movement. We can not stop ronaldo's movement but we can stop the cross from comming in in a proper defensive balance.

Reguarding our attack there is too much unpredictability in the market right now about who we wl sign and who we will wait for or not.
This is a crazy of "ifs" you got here so basically planets have to align for us to get there. Sure it can happen but no realistic midfield signing will give us the same quality of Real Madrid's, this is just pure delusion.

I think Fabinho will give us the same quality.

I don't understand this. Juve are, quite literally, the best defensive team in football. Any member of their back three would be one of our three best players. This same squad shut down Barcelona and gave up only three goals in the CL before today's match.

If Real takes the Super Cup as seriously as they did today, damn, they could very easily score five or six goals. United have a nice squad, one that hopeful can compete for the Premier League title with a good summer transfer window, but it is nowhere close to as good as Juve or Real.
The same Real who lost to in the quarter final of the cope del ray to Celta Vigo? See how silly it is when people pull comparatives from one off games?

I think you are overrating him to a ridiculous level. Fabinho is a very good player but he isn't a miracle maker. Another top class midfielder would still be needed because him/Pogba/Herrera isn't as good as Kroos/Modric/Casemiro (without even mentioning Isco who can come and link up there with them)

Master class is possible when you have the tools available, at this moment, Mourinho does not have the tools to nullify that Madrid. They're devastating.

I've seen Phil Jones mark Ronaldo out of a game before.

True story.

We'll see. It's something to look forward to anyway. Such a pity it's just a few days before the kick-off to the EPL.

I'm pretty certain Real are a couple of streets ahead of us right now, but I believe Mourinho can win any one-off game. His cup record is ridiculous.

I think you are underating them too much, they will be on par as a combo.

This I agree with. They start their preseason later in Spain. Plus I imagine us going into the game more motivated than Real. Specially Mourinho will want to win this.

Real Madrid might be the best team in the world, but they're not invincible. We can take them on a good day

We have not beaten Madrid in my lifetime (not counting 2003 at OT because we didnt go through) so I want to beat them so bad. Jose will play down the game's importance but secretly drill the shit out of the players to win it

It will probably be a close game. Should be a fun fixture to watch.

RM will treat it like a pre-season game and Jose will treat it like a World Cup final.

I rate Jose very highly. The guy is tactically at the highest level.

I still think we are going to take one heck of a beating. If Real don't score at least 5, they should be ashamed of themselves.

Where the Ajax team we beat, were a bunch of kids, Madrid will be made up of players who are in their 30s and in their prime.
Our only chance is to hope that Madrid have a mare and we somehow nick a 1-0 win. Remember, our attack without Ibra, struggle to score, so even scoring 1 goal won't be easy for us.

In any case, it'll be a fun game.
Unreal. Real did not even win the group and you are predicting 5 goals.

Madrid with their 12th European title and back to back champions league, they are celebrated everywhere and top players wishing they can be part of that group. Top reds will say all of that is irrelevant and what matter the most is domestic titles
Ok I will be the one. I would rather us do what Juve and Bayern are doing(6 and 5 league titles in a row) than what Real just did(win three CLs in 4). I know most probably will not have that opinion.

Looking forward to this game but expect us to strangle the life out of it. We can't win if we allow Madrid to play football like Juventus did, the quality of their team will be too much for us if we're open. There will be a lot of people complaining about it but if we play anti-football and win, I'll be over the moon.

No doubts that the CL Final was one of the best for years because both team came out to play attacking football almost similar in style. The match was entertaining because the exciting attacking football played non stop from one end to another end.

However, I feel that exciting match doesn't really equal to brilliance. For me, the best team of all time is still Pep's Barcelona. If today Real Madrid were facing Jose's Inter Milan treble winning team, the results might be very different.

Actually, Juve missed lots of chances and Real was clinical (before Juve totally gave up mentally). Everything went wrong for Juve, the difference in quality was not as big as many think.

As for us, with Jose at helm and our summer signings, we can match Real with right tactics in Super Cup.

100% agree with you.

Get me the EPL title as much as possible. CL is a cup competition and therefore a bonus as far as I'm concerned. Yes, I'd love to win it. But winning the EPL is a much sweeter victory. Always was, always will be.

How hard is it to get tickets for these things? I'll probably be in Sofia at the time, so might as well hop over. 33k stadium doesn't feel me with confidence though.

This is a game i really look forward to. We're up against Real Madrid, big stage, trophy in play and we have some good players and manager around. Maybe we'll lose, but i'd much rather do that against Europe's very best than in a dull affair against Watford.

Philip II was a Macedon, rejected an offer from OT in 360BC!
Most definitely looking forward to seeing our new buys up against Real
Yes he was Macedonian. A people who spoke Greek, worshipped the Greek gods and spread Greek culture as far as India.

Just because the people of Skopje call themselves "Macedonians" it doesn't mean that they have anything to do with him. Want to see Phillip II's tomb? Come to Vergina, Greece.

Just realized this one is in Skopje....

Hm Hm Hm..
Been there last year by business. From Zagreb (although you probably now this already) it's about 10 hours trip with a car. Also, you have flights every day with Croatia Airlines.

Skopje is pretty cheap. Beer is around 1,50€, meal around 4-7€. The ticket for the game will be a likely problem, though, especially with that stadium capacity.

Anyway, thinking about it also...:)

the gulf in class is massive. I suppose anything can open on the day but they'd have massacred us last night

I think last night's game illustrated just how far PL teams are from the top level in Europe at the moment.

just had a look at the team they put out for this last season. If they play a similar one we would have a chance. I have a feeling though that with it being Utd and Mourinho they won't.
