His name is not on the retained list on the premier league website.

Missed a lot of chances but scored a lot of goals and brought a lot of winning mentality back to the club. Thanks for all the memories.

Obvious outcome given his injury and the fact that there's been feck all talk of a new deal. Farewell, thanks for a fantastic season.

Under the circumstances, it was kind of a given it would happen.

Hopefully something can be worked out, so when he is fit again we can offer him a short term deal

Yep, very sad that the injury led to this. I definitely think he had another season in him! Loved watching him and having him at the club!

I'm sad but it's the only logical thing to do.

Thanks Zlatan for everything.

He came, he won 2 trophies, he scored the winner goals in Community Shield and EFL cup, he won his first major European trophy in his career and with us. He scored 28 goals at 35 age old in his only season at England.

Was a dream seeing him in United shirt, just hoped it was earlier and for longer.

Good luck in your next move.

Thank you for the memories. Wonderful athlete and we were lucky to have seen him play for us. Sad he got injured, could have stayed had that Injury not happened.

What's done is done, I am glad jose is looking forward and he didn't let his loyalty or sentiments come . Surely a number 9 is coming now.

Be fantastic to have him still around the club.

He did good methinks, loved having him around just for a year. As said, shame it had to end with an injury, but i'm sure neither side will have anything bad to say! Good luck and all that!

Good contribution, his performance against Southampton will live long in the memory. Ultimately, he's at the wrong age for us to stick with him and offer a contract, so right move.

Shame it ended the way it did. Made a fantastic contribution to a very successful season in the Cups. I wish him well where ever he turns up next.

Fantastic player. Could see he was a great presence on & off the pitch and contributed to what was a solid season in the end.

Good luck with the recovery!

Was always going to happen once the injury occurred.

He had the opportunity to stay at the club by extending it himself, decided to wait around, injury came along and that was that.

Great season for him though, shame we didn’t get him when PSG signed him.

Was never his biggest fan, but he had a good season here, and I am glad we signed him. Good decision to let him go though.

I don't know, part of me does not like this decision taken by the club. It makes sense considering the amount of wages he's on, but it feels like we are kicking him out because he got injured after all that he's done for us this season.

Good memories. That header in the league cup final. Pity he was injured for the Europa final.

Even if his stay was a short one, he really summed up what it means to be a Manchester United player. Will be sadly missed. :(

I wish he hadn't gotten injured. We wouldn't be forced to buy Morata, could develop Rashford for another year and see if the kid is ready to lead the line. Plus, we'd have Zlatan up top who, even at this age, is clearly a better player than Morata.

Damn shame. A freak injury in a Europa League game against Anderlecht robbed us of an excellent striker. I would have liked to have kept him for one more season, with the addition of more attacking players. Oh well.

Thanks for everything Zlatan!

Where's the DOF?
Completely conflicted on this; loved him at the club, great to have that class, belief and occasional arrogance back in a United shirt. Couldn't keep him on that money given the injury - correct decision for now. Thanks Zlatan, you were brilliant. My only regret is that we couldn't sign you a decade earlier.

I'd rather keep an injured Zlatan than the Rooney we have now.
Good luck to him wherever he goes.

Can't be paying someone what he's on who's not going to play until January at the earliest.

Shame it was only 1 season, absolutely loved watching him in the Utd shirt.

Huge influence on and off the pitch.

He'll sign a deal after he's recovered from his injury to the end of the season.
