They do finally have the derby again!
There always was a derby - just in the 4th league with the U23s (and in all other youth departments)

Funnily the bavarian football association just implemented a rule yesterday into their "laws" that the 50+1 rule is valid for all bavarian clubs in their leagues...:D

Apparently Bild are reporting that Dortmund are looking to finalize Peter "Slayer of Schalke" Bosz within the next 48 hours, they also claim that he already traveled to Dortmund for negotiations and that Dortmund are estimating a compensation fee of around €5m for Ajax, though negotiations are still to be done with the club.
Mind you Bild sometimes know stuff early, but just as often speculate ahead of believable rumours.

Not completely related but from the DFB pokalfinale.
Tankard are known to be great fans of Eintracht Frankfurt of course. A bit more intimate than the embarrassing black eyed peas performance in the CL final.

Is he going to play the Ajax 4-3-3? And one issue Dutch Football has right now is that in the Eredivisie there is very little pressing is going to be the complete opposite in the Bundesliga.

Did you see Ajax play this year?

If you ever need a spineless director, take VDS. Thanks Edwin. "We didn't want to keep him to his contract."

Very disappointed with the way these events occurred. I wonder now who will VDS hire as a new coach?! Shame.

I don't see a better thread for this right now, so here it is:

Kimmich's equaliser against Denmark yesterday.
I really hope the boy gets regular game time next season, unlike the majority of the past season. Actually, Carlo doesn't have much of a choice with Lahm gone.

Bild and Sportbild say that Weinzierl's end at Schalke will be announced tomorrow. New coach will be Domenico Tedesco, 31 years old.

Nagelsmann and him made their coaching diploma together. Both were coaches at Hoffenheim together - Nagelsmann of the U19, Tedesco of the U17. When Nagelsmann took over the professional he took over with the U19 and in March 2017 took over Erzgebirge Aue in Bundesliga 2 and saved them from relegation.

Schalke should hire Tuchel. It would be utterly hilarious if he had them finish above Dortmund next season. Heidel has experience handling him, too, but maybe he doesn't want to do it again.

Heidel and Tuchel aren't really friends...

In that case - Leverkusen should hire Weinzierl. I still think he's a good coach and I'm surprised Schalke might want to fire him after just one season.

But then again - it's Schalke continuing their pursuit of mediocrity.

Ps: It would be even more hilarious if Stuttgart managed to finish above Schalke next season with the good old duo of Heldt and Breitenreiter

They are at Hannover. Heldt would probably be dead in a week, if he tried to set foot into Stuttgart again.

Not sure about Dortmund's transfers. Philipp I guess can turn out good but Dahoud has been inconsistent at Gladbach and Toprak is just average.

Dahoud is a very talented guy and has the potential to be immense for them, imo.

Agreed. In 2-3 years Dahoud/Weigl could be the new German DM pairing. For €10M taht was a complete no-brainer.

So Sagnol is Ancelotti's new assistant? Is he replacing Paul Clement?

Understandibly. Without going into too much detail, if Tuchel pulled even half the stuff he did inside BVB at Mainz, it is a miracle he lasted that long there.

I´m pretty confident in Bosz as new head coach. He does not have the big name but has a lot of the qualities we would look for in a coach: He has proven himself to be an excellent talent developer, his playing style fits our squad very well and he comes across as calm, collected and very down to earth, which is much needed after the storm of unrest Tuchel brought into the club over the last 18 months.

Clement left Bayern in January to become the new Swansea manager and since then there was no real assistant to Ancelotti. Gerland was not Ancelotti's second man for the rest of the season. Actually his son Davide was near him on the bench during the games.

I guess it is more him replacing Hermann Gerland as connection to the club and the officials...

We might all be onto something.:D

He replaces Clement and provides the needed historical connection.

Please, by all means go into detail. Because frankly, all this ominous stuff how terrible Tuchel behaved 'without going into detail' doesn't cut it.

It doesn't matter who they hire. He won't last longer than his predecessors.

Heidel pulling a rabbit out of his hat again

I m very excited to see, what Tedesco can achieve with this young squad and I have a good feeling with him. Weinzierls performance has just not been good enough and his football was dire and defensive with questionable formations all season.

Next season is going to be crucial for Schalke, but now I see the light...

You're selling Toprak short here. He's capable of being a very good defender and a clear upgrade over Ginter.

Care to tell us a bit more about Tedesco - must have missed him somehow.

Herrlich is a strange choice, IMO.

Wouldnt describe myself as a Tedesco expert, but I was impressed with what he has done with Aue in such short period of time and I liked the way he approached the game despite fighting against relegation.

Shortly after his appointment it was a clear structure to see with pressing and intense running and also the clear plan and intention to PLAY football not fight and hoof.

I also like his background fighting himself from nowhere to the elite and he comes across as a very smart and humble guy who has big hunger to succeed.

Hopefully another star of the new coaching generation.

Völler is no Heidel obviously.

TBO there are not many promising candidates around, as the football has so dramatically changed over the last decade, that a big chunk of coaches was left behind and Völler has rarely proven to be innovative or, well...smart.

Herrlich has done great work with Jahn Regensburg..two times promoted in a row is impressive and the way Jahn destroyed 1860 Munich was a joy to watch. Leverkused tried Tuchel and I thought they would be a great fit, but he isnt really tempted by it and wants something bigger than the province of Leverkusen. PL should stand very high on his list.

Its also a matter of time and the pressure arising, so a decision needed to be made and I could image worse decisions than Herrlich.

Thanks for that.

Die Ruhrpott-Klubs Dortmund, Schalke & Leverkusen all appointed new head coaches. Will be interesting. Herrlich also returning to play v Dortmund & Mönchengladbach is something as well.

Reckon Tuchel wants PL as well.
