The top 5 clubs in England should qualify for the CL.

I think it's unfair that two of Utd, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool will miss out every year (bar the EL is won)

I don't think Spain or Germany deserve to have the same number of CL spots given their comparatively less number of powerful clubs.

I think it would be unfair to give special treatment to the PL and not to other leagues personally.

No. English clubs fail year after year in CL, don't see any reason why we deserve to get another place.

Complete and utter bollox IMO. Based on recent years' performances in the CL by English clubs, we're lucky to have 4 teams allowed in it.

Strange time to make this thread considering how dire English clubs are in Europe at the moment. You might have had a case in 2008 when two English clubs were contesting the final and 3/4 of the semi finalists were English around that time too but in 2017 its really laughable.
Athletico make the semis every season along with Barca and Madrid what the hell have United, Arsenal, City or Spurs done in the CL in the past 5 years besides get dicked by Ronaldo and Messi

Top 10 imo, or better yet, the whole league, just get rid of the La Liga overall so Barcelona/RM cannot win it, ditto Bundesliga and their Bayerns or, God forbid, Juventus and other phonies from Serie A. Rather have Stoke winning the CL than some PSG.

Why should the PL get special treatment? PL teams have been failing in the CL for God knows how many years now.

Let's see how the 5 English teams get on this season in the CL. I'd be surprised if more than 1 make it as far as the semis.

I think it should be just the Champions of each league and the holders and that's a pretty daft idea. But its better than having 5 English teams in it!

Well the 5th placed English team is usually stronger then any other 4th placed teams from the other leagues..

That is exactly the attitude that makes people dislike everything about EPL. The sense of entitlement that is backed up with absoultely nothing.

Also, calling City and Spurs big clubs. Dear God.

lol, given the past 3 years, I wonder why English clubs participate, simply not at the required technical level. And you want a 5th spot?! So it can be more embarrassing?

No.

None of the English teams will do anything of note in the Champions League. We are all still far behind the Spanish two and Bayern.

White text? OP is entitled to his opinion, but this one is really poorly informed. England has only one team in the top 10 clubs in the co-efficient rankings. The continental competition spots are not some arbitrary decision by UEFA.

Could do with nr 1 in the UEFA coef could get 5, but when English clubs must take EL more serious apart from us. We are closer to Italy in 4th than Spain in 1st I think.

Dudes concentrating on the performance of English teams over the past few years are missing the point.

It might be this year, it might be next but soon English teams will dominate the latter stages of the CL again.

History will tell you that money talks in the end and the PL is swimming in it.

How about one of them look like winning it first

When your argument is built on the fact that 5th. team in England can spend more money then 4th. team in other leagues then all hope is lost.
