Should be Rashford on the right and Martial left.
I'm amazed that we haven't experimented with this setup more. I guess they must see that it doesn't work in training, or that it would unbalance the defensive roles.

Rashford would've scored if he just powered it into the corner he was running to. No time for keeper to react.

Home crowd really settled down 5-10 mins before the goal. They looked to be having a big affect on the players and even the referee. We looked a bit rattled. We seemed to turn the screw as they went quiet, and we started to actually get the free kicks we weren't getting before.

Rashford getting crapped on.... Poor finish, but apart from that he's the only player that's looked like doing anything in the opposition half.... Amazing really some people.

What about the nothing performances of Mata and Mkhi?

Far too slow in the build up. Nowhere near enough pace out wide to get in behind. Now the game will open up I bet Mkhi is better, but again he's been bought to unlock these teams when they sit deep.

Wish we would take Mata and Mikhi off and put Martial and Herrera on, put Rashford on the right with Pogba ahead of Matic and Herrera.

I like that he takes no shit. However, we don't want to go down to 10 men. You can see the ref is just itching to create his own headlines... but this is no good for the team.

Controlled aggression is what the lad needs to have...
Yeah now he has had he say, he needs to get his head back in the game and I felt he did that. There was one tackle after the yellow card that was a legit foul, not a yellow, but because he had just been booked the crowd were all over it.

I am sure if we have a good crosser from set pieces we always be a threat, we have tall guys there who can head it, but but we don't have.

Well the feckers have to actually play the game now, should make it easier for Rashford and Mhki to tear them apart.

Melodrama? Just stating a clear observation that most will agree with. Decision making remains his biggest flaw.
Misses one chance that he had to take in his stride because he was being pushed off the ball and all of a sudden he shouldn't play for the foreseeable future = melodrama

He's 19, of course his decision making is his biggest flaw. We're extremely lucky that at that age, it's his only flaw.

Hoping we start the 2nd half with a goal to put this to bed. Hate playing Swansea and want it over and done with.

The same way Cantona chants are sung at Christmas, Ronaldo chants whenever or even Park Ji Sung chants emerge sometimes. What's so bad about it? It's a great chants and he's likely coming back this season anyway.
Ibra was here for one season. Hardly comparable to the other players you mentioned.

What was that defender doing? He reached the ball before Bailly, he should have cleared it

If we could transfer Martial's finishing onto Rashord we would have a world beater......

Mata and Mkhitaryan should be our creative players, but they don't create anywhere near enough chances.

Good workout for the lads there, Swansea's high press making it difficult to play with any degree of fluency, but we handled it better than many thought we would. Think we deserve to be in front all things considered.

Rashford needs a stern talking to after that appalling show of arrogance, Fabianski was poorly positioned as well, all he needed to do was place it low in the corner. Still, he'll learn from it. Jonah missed a sitter as well.

Great reactions from Bailly, hopefully Swansea will move from the edge of their own box. Most of their players barely moved.

That half to me again shows why rashford should not be a starter and why he might never be a top quality Striker, he just cannot finish well. Still think we need an attacker not just any attacker one world class attacker.
Mkhi, mata are not wingers and teams who defend well narrow, well they will always be a problem to us. We just do not have wingers or fullbacks good enough to spread teams up. I think small pitches will always be a problem until we address that issue.

Mata offers nothing in these games so I don't see why not. Hopefully see it in the 2nd half.

Pogba forced the game in the last five minutes. Two great crosses, and the assist off the bar. Unlucky not to score himself, but I reckon we're all delighted for Bailly.

Phil Neville saying that United didn't deserve to be ahead. What has Swansea actually created apart from that Ayew shot which was a cross.

Perfect stream all game then it fecks up a few mins before a goal. Nice to see defenders getting on the scoresheet though

    Somewhere they can't find me.
Rashford shoots it when he should chip it, and chips it when he should shoot.

    Lacks strikers instinct.
Opposite of what was said when he first broke into the XI. All that back to back goals in Europa, the league game vs Arsenal, he was being hailed as a poacher who knows where back of the net is.

    But I agree.

Deserved lead. Thought Swansea defended well and our lack of clear chances came from that rather than us not playing well. Our intensity was good for most of the half and Rashford has been a pain in the arse for them, despite his fluffing that chance.

Think second half we need more from Mata and Mkhi and definitely need a second. Otherwise, solid enough without being amazing.

Most positive note is our set pieces have been pretty dangerous. Last season they were automatically counted as a counter attack for the opposition.

That was a tough half, great to go in with the lead.

I know we've been a bit sluggish, but you have to say Swansea were excellent for most of that half; very organised, holding their back 5, pressing really high up the pitch and in a very coordinated manner. Have to give some credit to Paul Clement, who I've seen shouting at his players to push up on us whenever we bring it into their half.

Our sharpness when on the break still needs to improve. That point when Rashford spun in behind and then got to the box and had to hold it up because no one was with him was disappointing to see. And just on Rashford, he may have missed another 1v1, but he's been our most dangerous attacker, and it's Mikhi who needs to look at himself at half time, not Rashford.

Pogba had a poor start but was just starting to play well before the break. I think he'll be much better second half once he's had a chance to calm down.

We'll be better second half. Still want to see Martial come on and really stretch the play, try and beat a couple of players.

He just put his neutral hat on. He means, ' we are in control and deserve to be ahead.'
