Actually felt really bad there seeing Pog desperately looking to the official for the goal after hitting the bar again
Free roaming playmaker. He had the most touches precisely the same zone Mkhitaryan was stationed, the left-center of our attack.Still no idea what Mata's role is in this formation. We are in need of a more dynamic right winger. Apart from the miss, Rashford has been most likely to make someting happen. I still never feel confident seeing him 1v1 though.
Probably our most productive player in that first half, shockingly arrogant finish aside of course.Wrong option, it happens. But he's a worry for their defence that's certain
They didn't have a shot on but it was still too close for comfort and they forced us into a number of mistakes. They still haven't had a shot on target have they? They've been buying fouls like West Ham were last week and playing with everyone behind the ball. Huge that we scored right on half time. They will have to come out now.
They did defend well though Swansea.
That's silly. Robben is predictable. His gimmick always works though.to avoid being predictable?
Maybe, but i hope not. Swansea will have to do some semblance of attacking this half. Pogba holding with Matic and releasing the attackers sounds pretty tasty to me.He had 2 decent crosses in the end. Poor 40 minutes then 5 very good ones. Might still be smart to take him off so he don't get sent off.
I'm not really understanding the criticism he's getting. He's been fine.If Jon Moss passed the referee assessment over the summer, imagine how shit and unfit those who failed must be.
To be fair to him the keeper pushed it onto the crossbar , it was a good header and a good save , and a good follow up by Bailly to finish it off.Pogba's crossbar challenge continue
He's 19 years old....That half to me again shows why rashford should not be a starter and why he might never be a top quality Striker, he just cannot finish well. Still think we need an attacker not just any attacker one world class attacker.
Mkhi, mata are not wingers and teams who defend well narrow, well they will always be a problem to us. We just do not have wingers or fullbacks good enough to spread teams up. I think small pitches will always be a problem until we address that issue.
Single biggest reason why he will make it, if he already hasn't. He will be fine. That's the way Rashford is. He's inconsistent but never lets a missed chance make his head drop. Keeps going and with a positive mentality. Sooner or later these chances will be converted and he'll be a 20+ goal a season striker imo.
He should have sheilded it and drawn a foul from whoever was following it through. It's all you can do in that situation and he just stood back and watched. Terrible defending to be honest. What was that defender doing? He reached the ball before Bailly, he should have cleared it
He dived and got a pen vs Swansea last season. Why are they booing Rashford?
Yeah. Hopefully it will transform the game as Swansea have to attack more, hopefully freeing up some space behind their midfield for Lukaku and Rashford to exploit.Their extra man in midfield together with pressing is making it difficult for us. The goal was so crucial.
Not a massive deal, no, but I just don't see what's he's done for our fans chanting his name after one season, where we came 6th in the EPL.Doesn't really matter, does it?
I know, was just joking. To be fair to him the keeper pushed it onto the crossbar , it was a good header and a good save , and a good follow up by Bailly to finish it off.
thank you.He's 19 years old....
Dive last season.I don't understand the Rashford booing. Where is that coming from?
The fact they keep putting 3 players on him every time he gets the ball says a lot. If we take him off it will give them more confidence to push forward and look for a goalWrong option, it happens. But he's a worry for their defence that's certain
Him going down and getting a pen last season.I don't understand the Rashford booing. Where is that coming from?
Swansea are playing high press? And here I thought they had 11 men behind the ball and packing their defence.Good workout for the lads there, Swansea's high press making it difficult to play with any degree of fluency, but we handled it better than many thought we would. Think we deserve to be in front all things considered.
Rashford needs a stern talking to after that appalling show of arrogance, Fabianski was poorly positioned as well, all he needed to do was place it low in the corner. Still, he'll learn from it. Jonah missed a sitter as well.
What ? would you care elaborate on that ? in all the press conferences after last week's win he said time after time that it's just the first game and that we finished last year 6th after winning our first games so we shouldn't get carried away. where did you get that from ?It's his fault, he got carried away by the exaggerated optimism of our last performance.
Being fair it's a really catchy chant, can understand why we still sing it.Not really. Not if that player played for us a lot longer and won a lot of trophies with us.
They think he dived to earn a penalty against them last season.I don't understand the Rashford booing. Where is that coming from?
Think Rashford has been fantastic considering his age. I personally think he's a star in the making. That half to me again shows why rashford should not be a starter and why he might never be a top quality Striker, he just cannot finish well.
What, in his first season, when he debuted in February and couldn't stop scoring? So cool he went 4 months without scoring
Jonathan Moss
