We need to get Fellaini on for Mata, they are crowding us in midfield and Matic is all over the place as a result.
Matic was always going to need a bit of time to settle back in playing next to Pogba again. He's been the main man without him and now he has to adapt his play. No biggie

Lindelof has been pretty solid since that early blunder, hope he gets more chances
Not sure if serious. He was a bit AWOL on that last chance at the end of the half. Seems to be at sea as the RCB. Maybe as part of a 3man backline he wouldn't be such a liability, but he seems to switch off at times.

What a chance for Newcastle - DDG with the save - Mike Smalling showing us why he's one of the best defenders in EPL

Jesus christ, look at that shitfest. Defenders not close enough, Pogba not marking his man. Terrible.

Surprisingly, I think Mkhitaryan would do a better job today with the movement of Lukaku, Rashford and Martial. Take off Mata and bring him on Mourinho.

Was always going to be disjointed for a while whilst the team settles.

Matic now has Pogba back next to him and with that has different roles and responsibilities.
Will be important to keep everyone fit and keep team selection consistent. Rashford and Martial need to learn how to work together behind Lukaku. It might be ugly to begin with.

At least it's been entertaining :)

Is it just me or has a Rashford (and Mata) been quite useless?

3 attacking midfielders not doing a good enough job getting back when we lose possession. We have created a fair bit.

I think we’ve been good. Pogba is a class above and really is everything for us which is a slight worry

Newcastle are no mugs but we responded so well, balls being moved quickly, fullbacks involved well and you feel Martial and Rashford will produce. Good pace and pressure put on Newcastle after the goal.

Hopefully we keep it up and stick a few more past them.

Either Lindelof got thrown away or we score the third, because we're going to concede the second goal with this defense unfortunately.

We need to be careful, Newcastle are more dangerous than they look. Thankfully we have the lead, so we can pick Newcastle off when they come for us.

Martial, Rashford and Tony V needs to take crossing lessons from Young. Pogba has been the X factor that is keeping United above Newcastle.

    0-1 Gayle

    Lindeloff
    Where's his defense brigade today?
Looking at that, I don't think Lindelof was solely responsible for that.
I think our midfielders allowed the ball to go through midfield, too easily.
    Then Lindelof slipped.
Then DDG did not make a save (which IMO, he should've).

That goal was the responsibility of the entire team.

Yes. Odd game for him to be dropped for Mata. Mkhi would have thrived with Pogba back in the team. I guess its accumulation of him playing internationals and also not performing well in the last few matches.

Hope he can turn it around now that Pogba is back. I rate him above Mata any day.

I have absolutely no confidence in Lindelof whatsoever. He's a bag of nerves and it shows in his overal demeanor, makes you wonder how he got his nickname "Mr Ice" when he would appear to be the complete opposite. Rojo needs to replace him asap.

Excellent response from the lads after going goal down. Young's crossing and Pogba's unlimited skillset is going to see us past the finish line tonight.

Every time we play simple attacking football with crosses in the box, things happen. Why not do it all the time ?

    Tuanzebe should play ffs
Yes, I agree. If Tuanzebe would have made the mistakes Lindeloff has made, he would have been sent to play for the Siberia MUFC reserve team. Yet we persist with Lindeloff just because we paid good money for him.

We need Rashford to stay out on the right a little bit more. Too many players on the left and nothing on the right.

Matic is way to slow to protect the back four, especially when Pogba's the one "helping" him in midfield. We're way to easy to pass through.
Matic has been our best midfielder, so far this season.

Newcastle has put together some slick one touch football. We could take something out of it. All of our players seems to live in silos. No one know's others runs.
