Thank God, is all I’ll say about that half. We haven’t been good at all, hopefully we come out firing in the 2nd half.

Lindelof going in to close the shot down with his arms behind looked hilarious.

We are fine. Will score a couple more..
I feel this is going to be a goal fest, everyone will want to prove their worth now the big boys are back. 5-1 ”and another one”.

    Strange, isn't it ?

We bought Tony V as a right winger, so I could understand it if he was a shit defender but a great crosser, but it's the other way round !!!
He just can not cross ... He is scared of whipping the ball first time, we have nothing to offer from right side going forward for years now. How a manager can not figure that out is beyond me.

Are they a rare breed now ? (Quality Right wingers)

Matic is way to slow to protect the back four, especially when Pogba's the one "helping" him in midfield. We're way to easy to pass through.

lindelof is fecking horrible. Not ready at all for the EPL. Needs to come off because they are just targeting him. Everything that comes around his area is porous and leads to chances for newcastle.
I agree, we need to cut our losses with him. Take him out now. Terrible for his confidence, but maybe we need to send him out on loan this January..

Better. Still really unimpressed with our style of football though - looks very disjointed and more moments of individual quality rather than cohesive consistent quality pressure as a team.

Then again we've never played with all of these attackers at the same time so lacks familiarity and rhythm.

Need to keep the foot on the pedal and score a few more, still look prone at the back.

Be nice for Lukaku to get a goal for his confidence

What a chance for Newcastle - DDG with the save - Mike Smalling showing us why he's one of the best defenders in EPL

Great refreshing match. I would take this performance over everything we have served over the last month.

Great game so far. We need Matic to sit back and shield the defense a little bit more, otherwise loving the new attitude. Thanks Mourinho for giving both Martial and Rashford a chance with Lukaku. Let the opposition worry about our attackers.

We need to drop Matic deeper and partner Pogba with Ander.
That could work. Or go for our tried and tested midfield of Matic-Fellaini behind Pogba.

It says a lot about our available CBs that Bailly is the most comfortable in possession and the coolest head we have. :D

Do you think Bailly - Lindelof could do better??
Possibly, as it allows Lindelof to play in his LCB position.

At the moment our best pairing has to be Bailly-Rojo. Absolute wall.

If only we had a right winger or right back good enough to deliver a fecking cross in the box ...
    Strange, isn't it ?

He's done 3 crosses in the match.

Laid it on a plate for Lukaku, nearly found Rashford, and miscued one.

Stop perpetuating this bullshit cliche and watch with your eyes.

Was always going to be disjointed for a while whilst the team settles.

Matic now has Pogba back next to him and with that has different roles and responsibilities.

If holding the team to a higher standard than others and wanting the team to do well and play well is being a rival fan then you're seriously deluded. We have been crap this season consecutively.
Calling our players and manager shit and constantly being negative isn't something our fans should aspire to. Moaning culture in here is rife and a lot of the time out of order and embarrassing.

    There's only one United!
How is it possible that both ref and linesman don't see that blatant penalty!!

One of Mata or rashford need to stay out on the right. We're just crowding out the left.
I agree with you. None of them is disciplined enough to do that. Mata may be a good player technically but his disadvantages outweigh his advantages. Look at the Rashford miss pass to Martial. OK it was a miss pass and if Rashford had given a decent pass then Martial would have been away. But even with the miss pass Mata was 70 to 30 in favour of the ball but the Newcastle player reached it first.
We need to get him off and put in Lingaard. Our midfield is also under pressure because they are simply ignoring Mata as they know he is not going to do anything to defensively.

I have no faith in that defence. Lindelof is not ready to be starting games and his partnership with Smalling has been awful.

Bring Fellaini on, drop Matic deeper and hope that helps out at the back.

Slow start and strong finish to the half. I think expectations were too high for everyone to click together straightaway. Our central partnership hasn’t played much together but I think Newcastle, surprisingly, were very sharp and incisive in their attack. Lovely to see Pogba back - you can see what we’ve been missing and the unfair criticisms we’ve heard the past few weeks. May he continue to glorify the playing field for many years to come. PogLOVE!

Yes we are 2-1 up! Not a great half. Lindelöf I defend him a lot, but he has been a disaster today. Defending very poor all half. Young not good as well, but a great assist.

Pogba has done well even if not in full form yet. Martial good as well. Lukaku very frustrating that he missed that big chance.
