It says a lot about our available CBs that Bailly is the most comfortable in possession and the coolest head we have.

I agree with you. None of them is disciplined enough to do that. Mata may be a good player technically but his disadvantages outweigh his advantages. Look at the Rashford miss pass to Martial. OK it was a miss pass and if Rashford had given a decent pass then Martial would have been away. But even with the miss pass Mata was 70 to 30 in favour of the ball but the Newcastle player reached it first.
We need to get him off and put in Lingaard. Our midfield is also under pressure because they are simply ignoring Mata as they know he is not going to do anything to defensively.
Reference was to smalling.I have no faith in that defence. Lindelof is not ready to be starting games and his partnership with Smalling has been awful.
Bring Fellaini on, drop Matic deeper and hope that helps out at the back.Slow start and strong finish to the half. I think expectations were too high for everyone to click together straightaway.
