I was impressed by his ability to play 2 full games in 72 hours considering the previous reports about his fitness issues. He seems so eager to turn on his career here and succeed. Fair to him and happy to see such commitment from any player.

Great news, if the article is true. We need to bring in new players for 3, maybe even 4 different positions so removing LB from the list would be good in terms of the budget for the transfer targets.

We should be under no illusion that Shaw is a fantastic player, a genuine top quality footballer.

IF he can stay on the right-track this will save us £60-70m

Great to hear and long may it continue. Concentrate on areas of the team that need genuine attention, when we're looking at transfers. Young and Shaw give us 2 very solid options for leftback.

If Shaw can get back to the level he was at pre-leg-break (and I think he can, based on the last few games), then replaying him with some of the names mentioned would be a downgrade. Glad to see things are working out for him!

I'm glad! There still needs to be work done (such as his end product) but he's made great progress. I only hope it'll continue all season without any big setbacks.

Thought he was gone this window, over the moon that he's knuckled down and forced his way back into the team. Hope he kicks on like we know he can, talent has always been there but looks like he's now finally got the determination to go alongside it.

Well play him throughout the second half of the season and then we'll know for sure.

Well done to him. Saves us money and budget can be concentrated elsewhere. I am still hopeful that Fosu-Mensah will do the same in the other full-back position.

He has wc potential in my opinion. Just had a colossal bad luck with injures.I'm all for giving him this season to step up.

Great to hear it. I think we all want Shaw to have a long career with United. He's still only 22 and has amazing potential.

It will also save the club £50m on a replacement, that can be better spent on CM and RW.

Hopefully we can get a successful reintegration of Shaw, Pereira and TFM over the next 6 months, which would allow us to compete for real high quality in the other positions (yes, I’m looking at you Dybala).

Definitely good to see. His crossing in the final third still needs to improve a bit, but even just allowing someone to overlap with Martial on that side and take away defenders is massive.

Still don't rate him myself nor have faith in him remaining injury free but he has earnt himself a 6 month reprieve and the revelation of Young at LB has made it less urgent a position now compared to to CM and right winger. But he really cannot afford to lose form or get injured during the rest of the season. And if we sell Blind then I can still see us signing another LB for increased competition but perhaps a younger one like Tierney or Sessegnon rather than an expensive WC one like Sandro. We need to make every penny count and if Shaw fiiiiiinally turns out good then we can redirect some much needed funds to other positions.

It isn´t wise to forget about a new LB as Shaw only have played a few games on the first team this season and he has looked alright but nothing more than that. His history in regards to professionalism and injuries is too grim to ignore. Manchester United plays many games a season and having 2 FBs pushing each other to improve and fight for the place would be optimal for everyone. This smells like the board using any excuse to not invest in a LB and odds are it could be a very bad decision. He is only a talent at the moment and should be treated as such until he has earned otherwise and a few games is far from that.

Obviously it would be good news but there's been at least 4 contradicting articles around the club and our supposed transfer plans this week alone, it's hard to know what to believe.

Would by far be the best option if he went onto fulfil his potential.
That is why we whacked a shedload down on him after all!

We're a long way from being able to call Shaw the solution to our left-back problem. It's great that he's had a run of games and, without doubt, he's looked sharp but he's basically on trial until the end of the season.

Great news. I think he will be one of the best left backs in the country very soon.

He’s been better than anyone else has been at left back this season. I’m pretty happy with him and he’s improving every game.

Not better than Young definitely.

But he's for sure better than the likes of Darmian and Blind there.

That’s true, however I’m not so sure Young will get straight back in the team when Valencia’s back (assuming Valencia does!). Mourinho knows he needs to play Shaw for him to improve, and he obviously has more room to improve compared to Young.

If we stick with Young all season we could just be hindering the progress of a potential quality left back in Shaw.

We have lot's of games to play. Surely we can rotate between Young and Shaw to keep both fit throughout the reminder of the season.

I don’t think Valencia will have it so easy. Young can easily challenge for RB, and he has much better delivery than Valencia.

Changed plans for the current window or the summer plans?

I think Luke has to stay fit and perform as he has been doing over the last month for the rest of the season for us to change our summer plans. He would be entering the last year of his contract next season. He'll have to be offered a new contract in order to stay. We'll need to be sold 100% on his fitness and talent to offer him that contract. Hate players going into the season with only a year remaining on their contracts. We are facing the same shit with Fellaini. It's a terrible situation that Arsenal face regularly, and I hope we don't do that after how Fellani has held us to ransom so far.

He has been decent. Not great.

He still can’t cross a ball. A team like United can’t afford to have weaknesses in vital positions like that.

Good to hear he's got his head straight at long last. He's got the talent so the rest will follow.
