If we sign Alexis, do we still go for Griezmann in the summer?

Assuming we sign Alexis Sanchez, do you guys think that's out attack sorted and Martial and Rashford will continue to share games or will we make another splash in the summer and perhaps go back in for Griezmann?

I guess a lot depends on how far we go in Europe but Griezmann is relatively cheap (for this market) and obviously a world class player in his prime. Signing him would be a real sign of intent but would obviously hinder the development of two of the best young players in the game.

I'd personally rather we invest in other areas (new LB perhaps or a midfielder) but if we sign Ozil for free and Shaw keeps up his form but we end the season trophy less I can see us going in for Griezmann. I'm not sure Barca would be in for him given they have Dembele, just signed Coutinho and of course you've got Dracula and that Messi fella. Perhaps City because Pep needs 20 world class forwards or even Real Madrid could be in for him but I suspect we'll be keeping a close eye on things too.

No go all out for a world class midfielder to partner Pogba and Matic and you should be all set.

Not sure, but he would be good value at £86m in the current crazy market, and he is world class.

It would certainly make a tasty lineup on paper;

.............Lukaku
Martial Griezmann Sanchez*
.......Pogba ... Matic

(Sorry, Messe Lingard)

Definitely not. There is no way Jose will have two players in his starting 11 under 6ft and that’s a fact :nono:

I think it's Dybala and Ozil in the summer, IMO. Or just one of them and a world-class midfielder so that we can play 4-3-3 and release the shackles on Pogba

I don't think we have to. With Alexis, we will finally get that world class game changer, which we have been missing since RVP.
I think it's likely we will get Özil in the summer too, then the potential attack: Martial-Özil-Sanchez-Lukaku would be enough to fight for all trophies. Rashford and Mata, if he stays, are great options from the bench.

Really I think, apart from Özil, we only need to sign a CM, someone like SMS or Jorginho maybe? Weigl would be great too. If Shaw continues to improve, we can save some 40-50 million. And I think Valencia still has a couple of years at the top left before TFM takes over from him.

I very much doubt it.
Sanchez would take the #7 shirt and the vacancy for a marquee attacker would then be filled.

I would think that attention would then be switched to midfield, possibly 2 coming in to replace Carrick & Fellaini, and possibly a LB, with Blind/Darmian being shipped out.

He can feck off after that blackface fiasco as far as I'm concerned.

No. I think we want a winger, a CM and a LB. That’s it. Sanchez and Griezmann are also a bit too similar imo.

Think that's unlikely, he's said before he has no wish to play in the UK. We can hope though...

Griezman can choke on his thumbs. After the summer debacle and with Sanchez coming in, I've got no reason to be forgiving.

Edit: Dybala. Yes.

Better off without griezmann and signing a midfielder to free up pogba more so we play a 433 with sanchez and Martial on the wings behind lukaku.

Think Sanchez (if all concludes) fills the void of second/support striker. Jose identified a midfielder to replace Carrick - think that is where we will spend big, along with a left back for cover for Shaw. Young is versatile and may even reclaim an attacking role once more with his form. If we were to go down the forward route, it would be an out and out striker to replace Zlatan you feel. Jose has moved on from Griezmann

We can't, especially if we give the 7 to Sanchez. We build around Sanchez, Ozil, Lukaku, Martial, Rashford, Lingard, Pogba and Matic.

Griezmann to United is dead, don't know why so many people still think it will happen after he rejected us. Especially now that Barcelona are supposedly interested.

Imo we will play Sanchez as a #10 and look to sign a right winger in the summer. Dybala would be insane to replace Mata and link up with Sanchez/Martial/Lukaku.

Why not? Sanchez will only cost 30m. We clearly have the funds to splash on Griezmann or Dybala in the summer.

There's a good chance Alexis will be played behind the striker if signed so probably no.

I don't want Griezmann to be honest, he played us on live TV to get a better deal with A Madrid.

Nope, we won't need him. Sanchez is the perfect goal scoring attacker this team needs.
