Are there any positives to take from that?

I can’t think of a single positive. Not a single good thing about that tragedy of a performance. How can we tumble down so low performance wise? For the first time in Jose’ tenure, I think I’m pretty worried.

At least it didn't last longer.

I am in disbelief to how bad we played and looked and even fought. Where is the fight from the players? I thought those type of performances were past us honestly.

The only positive today is that Chelsea played even worse, which is not much

Valencia is about the only one who came out of that without a negative mark.

Positive is that it's a big game done and Chelsea lost as well and their defeat was a Lot more damaging

Other than that I've got feck all

I'm more confused than worried.

  • Most our first team had over a week rest
  • Sanchez league debut
  • Few players on great form
And then that. What the hell happened?

We've gotten a tough game out of the way and still 2nd by 3 points. Valencia was good and Sanchez worked hard.

Yes!

Every time one of the perennially optimist Caftards in the "Can United realistically win the Champions League thread" ask why some of us think we have next to no chance, we won't need to waste time typing out a reply with actual arguments, we can just simply point to this game. "Spurs at Wembley, that's why".

Yeah, the only consolation I'm giving myself is that Arsenal and Chelsea look even worse than us, so I'm not worried about reaching top 4. But fecks sake, this team and manager should be doing better than they did tonight. Embarrassing out there.

Might lead to a change in tactics in our next big away match, although that sadly probably means Martial benched for Fellaini or Herrera.

I'd even take an understanding of what the system was.

I have no idea what our midfield and attackers are trained to do. 1.5 seasons later, I still don't have a clue.

No, we were fecking terrible. One you have seal in concrete, dump in the North Sea and start again against Huddersfield at the weekend.

Yes! There are lots of positives. However, it depends on Mourinho to make it positive.
The knowledge from these games is priceless if you can learn from it. Only time will tell if he was paying attention or remains stubborn and naive.

believer that Sancho will turn it around
The only positive is if we never play 4-2-3-1 in big matches again and also never play Young or Smalling in matches against quality opposition again when we have other options.

There are actually no positives to take from that performance other than that pretty awesome save DDG had on a shot Kane had at point blank even though it was offside and wouldn't have counted anyways.

Worst performance I’ve seen since....the Southampton game. Too many half-arsed players. Pogba being one of them. Need to get off Snapchat and start showing some desire. Won’t happen as every big game is the same under Mourinho. We’ve become what I always saw Arsenal as...just a bunch of overpaid bottlers. Would be tempted to bring in those 2 from Salford City in just to bring some fire back. At the moment we have nothing but a few fancy haircuts and transfer announcements.

We seriously need to look at ourselves and look at why in every single big game, we are outplayed, overpowered, out thought and just second best in general. It’s unacceptable, I’m seething right now.

Yeah pretty much, guess we were due for a bad result. That was probably our toughest league match left aside from City away.

Two other positives I suppose are:

Maintained our recored for only conceding 2 goals maximum this season
Did not have to hear the commentators go on about Harry Kane's 100th goal.

He should have conceded a penalty with his brain-dead tackling. Another worst player today, just by running around a bit he escapes scrutiny. It's high time we stop rating headless chickens like Young, Valencia.

Kind of performance that is hugely worrying. Completely played off the park. Looked way off. We are still a long long long way off being good enough to compete for any meaningful title going by these kind of performances

I missed the first 15 minutes because I was on the way back from setting Coco at the cinema....so that was nice for me, especially as Coco is a brilliant film.

Positive is the fact Sanchez chases the opposition like a terrier, hopefully Martial, Pogba and Lukaku see that and start doing it as well. Because honestly almost every time we lose the ball the 3 of them are strolling.

Tevez and Rooney used to do it a lot, and even CR7 used to join in on it so hopefully it's contagious again.
