Calm down, 2nd game against Everton..wait till the game when it matters more.

On the other hand, Alexis is performing like a machine for us. Clearly the better player.

Those are the kind of sides who you are likely to slip up against. Case in point last season where we drew like half the dross in the league. The likes of Swansea Burnley West Brom and West Ham get results against other big teams this season yet we have so far lost only to Huddersfield.

If you take the ratio of good matches to bad matches it will be something like 15:1 or something. The plain fact is we have had handful of bad matches. We have scored 4 or more maybe 10 times this season? Or is that a coincidence for you?

Seriously though, it looks like team sport is not for you. Try golf or snooker maybe.
Can you honestly not see the lack of cohesion, strategical attacking play, intricate passing, penetration in our attacks? Even after playing together for more than half of the season, most of the players do not seem to know where to pass the ball to someone, who likes it to feet and who likes it in the space ahead. Most of the attacks is very basic and predictable, heavily reliant on individual brilliance and the opponents messing up. Any semblance of an attack breaks down when up against a team with intelligent movement and pressing and the hoofball game begins.

Mourinho is many things but he is not a good attacking coach, able to improve attacking players through coaching and tactics. The improvement in Lingard, Martial and co. is largely down to their own efforts rather than the managers. Now, I don't want Mourinho to go but what I do want is for the Management to get a proper attacking assistant coach or something who can work thoroughly on our attacking game in tandem to Mourinho.

Because, whoever we buy, with these tactics, I'm not sure we will win anything significant under Jose( read UCL or League). Would be more than happy to be proven wrong by him, of course.

He played well because Arsenal were playing well. When Arsenal inevitably play badly in some games, he will also go into hiding.

In contrast, once Sanchez becomes fully used to our team, he has the potential to single-handedly win games and carry us even when we are not playing well as a team. That's the difference in mentality and talent.

If we had sold Mkhi to Arsenal just like LvG sold Di Maria to PSG, I would be furious. But we got Alexis fecking Sanchez in return. This deal was only possible if either Martial or Mkhi were swapped and so the logical option was Mkhi. He's the same age as Sanchez and while a good player, is not suited for a title winning team.

I like both him and Wenger, so I wish them well and hope Arsenal get 4th ahead of Liverpool, if not Spurs.
I agree. Look at Rvp. Arguably Arsenal back then more consistently played attacking yet he changed shirt playing to play zombie football. Why? Because when it gets tough, Arsenal as a team undid his effort. At United, he could grind out result in ugly way, but his teammates wouldn't let him down and his effort was truly rewarded.

Why is it so important for Mkhi to fail? With us, he never complined about being benched, never spoke against the manager, said that Mourinho knows what is right. It just did not work out for him. I am hoping he will actually do well at Arsenal.

Also, it is quite obvious our forwards are struggling a bit because of our over defensive nature. Even yesterday, Huddersfield were dire but were not troubled that much by us. They were always going to lose we should have dismantled a team like that.

So we score because individual talent and opponents playing badly? Convenient. That’s something that can be said for literally every team.

Just yesterday’s game we had some slick movement and passing between our players. Shaw’s overlapping runs found multiple times by mata (beautiful diagonal ball) and Sanchez. Had Pogba played yesterday we would have had more penetrative passing (his one such pass created the second goal). Yesterday we played really well and carved them open many times.

Do you honestly think that we have been playing without cohesion attacking intent and intricate passing all season? Seriously?

Stop the insults, would you like it if i said stick to cricket or hockey cause you haven't a scooby doo what attractive football looks like on every second post? Plus they add nothing to the conversation. It's a forum, we're not supposed to agree on everything.

Many like myself don't think our football is attractive, even if it works to some extent. As I said, in football you don't have to play great attacking football for it to work, there's a reason Jose has been so successful despite his teams sometimes being a cure for insomnia. It's a Jacques Kallis or Rahul Dravid if you get what I mean. Where as we prefer a Tendulkar or a Lara!

Last season was a disaster, we did come 6th you know. 30 points are up for grabs this season against the other big sides around and given how we perform in such, its no surprise we're so far behind the league leaders. 300 million to park the bus against our main rivals? no thanks mate.

How was he last night? I see he got three assists. Would be rather ironic if he proceeds to excel for arsenal while we play Alexis at LW and continue to have no real quality on the right.

I see him doing well at Arsenal. Because of it being arsenal they probably won't be a threat but their movement and cohesion will suit him.

Some of the hate and bitterness in the comments are hilarious. He played well and got a hattrick of assists, just be happy for the guy.

Blah blah blah rival player and all that. Are Arsenal really our rivals? They are about as much of a rival to us as Everton is to us.

We benefited massively from his departure. He go rid of a player who in 80% of his performances was like playing with 10 men and replaced him with one of the best LW in the world so I don't get the hate.

Once he disappears in our fixtures vs Arsenal then I hope he's a good career, especially against City, Chelsea, Spurs and Pool

He played very well but Everton were horrible defensively - Mangala in particular was horrendous in that new 3 at the back they tried. Just watched the MOTD highlights and they picked up on that specifically. His big test will come next week vs Spurs who are far tighter and will press far more.

That said I do think he'll enjoy playing more at Arsenal, they have a more fluid attacking line-up then us now I'd say with Auba, Iwobi and Ozil, with Ramsey and Bellerin making good forward runs. Our attacking play can be a bit laborious at times because aside from Lingard and Lukaku occasionally no one really makes any interesting runs for Mikhi to pick out. But on the flip-side Arsenal are far more prone to losing due to their weaker defense so I'd be very surprised if they do better than us points-wise any time soon. Their best bet for CL imo is the EL like us last season.

I wish him do well at Arsenal, sincerely.

And I still think his purchase was just a make weight to sweeten the Pogba deal.

Comparing his talent to Lingard is pointless, it's obvious he's more talented. To play at this level, you need a very big heart to go with the talent. Watch Sanchez today, he was kicked many times, got back up and continue with his job. If that was Mkhi, you will never see him again after the second kick.
100%. This game was exactly the kind Mkhitaryan would bottle for us, starved of space and getting kicked up and down the park. Sanchez has guts, he reminds me of Ronaldo in that way, no matter how much the opposition try to ‘reduce’ him it just doesn’t work.

That’s the difference between Mkhitaryan and Sanchez.

Sanchez and Mkhi have very very different skill sets and characteristics. Mkhi does not yell at teammates as if the sky is falling down when the ball did not go his way even if he was a better option. Sanchez does that often, which I think it is very negative to the team.

Then why did we bother to buy him if we weren't gonna play to his strengths, same situation as Kagawa. Didn't need to build the team around him to do that
The system must have suited him to an extent because at times he played very well. The problem was his inability to do it on a consistent basis.

Slick movement and passing against the 19th placed team who had not won their last 7 matches before coming here? Keeping slapping your own shoulder on this wonderful achievement.

The fact is that yesterday, we struggled to break down our opponents sitting deep, like we usually do. Against Spurs, we were completely outdone, outsmarted and outplayed by their tactics and play.

Mourinho's record vs the top 6 has been beyond abysmal, his tactics in those matches extremely poor. Winning against the fodder teams is a start, but in order to win the league, we need to win comfortably against the top 6, which I don't see happening unless something drastic happens. And in UCL, I don't see us going past the quarters with this quality of football.

 FFS. If we’re full of delicate flowers who would let that affect them than that’s a far bigger problem than Sanchez. Ironically, I suspect that Mikhi may well be a very good example of one such delicate flower.

Personally, I’m delighted to have a player back in the team who will give team-mates a bollocking when they let standards drop. In the post-Keane era they’ve been few and far between. Rooney had a little bit of that in hjm. Since he left we’ve had an obvious vacancy.

Many people are already using this performance as further evidence that attacking, flair players cannot thrive under Mourinho - adding fuel to the fire that was already smouldering.

Again full of mistakes.

Last year Chelsea had a poor away record vs top 6. Yet they were comfortable league winners. You need to win against the other teams. We ended up 6th last season mainly because we drew against many dross teams.

Yesterday we didn’t find it difficult to open up. We had lots of chances in the first half. And even though it was 11 behind the ball. We had many shots (16 shots and 7 on target) and had many chances saved by last ditch blocks too.

You're not picking the best passes and your teammate is letting you know it? Good. That's exactly how it should be.

I hope he is a big success just to piss off the people who thought all the memes during the Sanchez saga was hilarious. It's probably the same people who booed Fellaini at Old Trafford.

Thank you, that's a very good post. Much better than he's better than Pogba/Sanchez drivel we've seen from the Liverpool fan on here. It's laughable how @FCBarca(who's banned for wumming now) and @ShadesOfTomato have tried to wum here. Pathetic.
Sanchez is definitely better than him, no competition. Mkhitaryan is a good player who'll be great in the right circumstances, Sanchez will be great regardless of circumstances or systems.

Hope, We Lose
As telling as it was that as soon as Miki got a new start under a manager who showed faith in him and stuck him straight in, he pulls out a great performance, there are other reasons why it happened.

One of those reasons and why its easier for creative players to be creative at Arsenal is off the ball movement and freedom to make runs. Ramsey starts in a CM pairing in a 4-2-3-1 but he bombs forward past everyone to make runs that cause teams problems because they are occupied wih all the forward players. This can sometimes make Arsenal easy to counterattack as if the move breaks down, Ramsey isnt likely to get back into position unless the rest of the team holds up the counterattack or fouls to break it up. So Arsenal play a bit more open, commit more players forward to attacks and benefit from the system and team play to create chances. Meanwhile we're more rigid, cautious, commit only the front 4 foward and rely on 1 or 2 players to come up with a bit of magic together to create chances and goals. When the moves break down we're in a better shape defensively but its much harder for the attacking players to make something out of nothing. Arsenal trust the players to rarely lose the ball and get caught out and to break things up if it does happen. We don't. We expect a lot from little.

Arsenal are a side with a clear strength and a weakness. Whats our strength that we excel at over almost all the other teams? Height I guess. Although somehow we've managed to conceed more than most from set pieces and I'm not sure we've scored that many headers considering. But thats really all I can come up with as what our strength might be. So perhaps we're a balanced side that neither excels in attack nor defence but leaves a few less holes to exploit than Arsenal.

So onto Miki's performance. The options were always there for him to pick someone out and he was very capable of doing so. Its not like at United where he has just 1 or 2 people to pass to on our quick counters or he has to go it alone, Ramsey making it 4 options for Miki to find meant someone was always going to be in a dangerous position and likely untracked. It was a very good performance with great productivity, but lets see how it goes for 5 or 10 matches before we compare with Sanchez. As far as I'm concerned Sanchez clearly has the tougher task.

Spot on. It is the difference of the tactics of the managers and arsenal is very vulnerable for counter attack when the attack play breaks down.

In the end it is a win win situation for both clubs. Man utd got a world class player in Sanchez and got Miki, who didn't perform under Mourinho, off the book. Arsenal got a experienced playmaker back instead of losing Sanchez for Nothing in the summer. Sanchez got to leave Arsenal and joined a club with ambition, and Miki joined a club that will give him playing time. So everybody wins. I wish both players to do well at their new club.

I liked Mkhi as a player and as a person, but I couldn't give a shit about him now. I don't think I've ever given much of a shit about a player who's moved on from United. I still have the utmost respect for a lot of the legends/past players, but whether they succeed or fail after their United career doesn't really matter to me.

who would you rather bring in? as i said i think we need to prioritize other parts of the squad. the attack should be the least of our worries
I disagree, we need to prioritise our biggest issue stopping us challenging for the title atm. Lack of goals against the top 6.
We should try and bring in 1 attacker, as well as sort midfield and fullback cover.

This. some folks are pathetic to want someone to fail just because at the time he didnt suit us, or in some cases were injured because of playing for us. I have wished player x or y would leave us at times, but never wished they flop elsewhere or get injured bad. They have gone just move on

You might want to watch a few more games there are lots of players who yell at teammates. Goalkeepers yell at defenders in anger quite often. The players are not so soft that a teammate yelling is going to damage them.

Wow so much dislike and hate

Thought you guys actually liked mhiki. Oh well, think both clubs got good players for their team, regardless of the narrative of united getting the better player.

We are playing a team that completely destroyed united just few days ago next week so it's good opportunity to see how this mentally weak Armenian does then. If he excels, I expect this thread to blow up. I hope he does, I better stock up on the popcorn just in case.

What happens if it’s a repeat of Swansea?

He’s the new Welbeck, will blow up regardless for a while.

Why cannot we praise other players without bashing our manager. It's like we must criticise Jose for everything under the sun. The thread is about morata and we see some genius bashing Jose, we see a thread about pep , there's always someone bashing Jose, Topic is Kdb/salah and the bash goes to Jose. It is getting monotonous and irritating. It is a mkhi thread,Arsenal player so why bash Jose. It's like fans have a short term memory and forget how crap he was in October.

It is never easy to play against Spur at their ground nowadays. It is very hard to deal with their high pressing and it is lucky to get away with a point. Spurs is a very very good team. Poch does an excellent job with the resource he has on hand. Top manager.

I think mhiki is a better fit for our team than Sanchez.
There were many times where I felt if he wasn't hogging the ball too much and released it at certain times, we would have won more games. As good a player he is, he has his faults.
You will see what I mean by end of season.
