Let's not let this VAR decision take away from the game being played, we've been shocking, if we play actual football these guys are here for the taking, lets go out and kill the game off, not limp into the next round with a similar first half performance
Erm we should have been 2-0 up. Hardly terrible

This is crap and I don’t know why people are defending it. We are ahead from scoring our one early chance and have been outplayed since. We are neither creating further chances nor controlling the game and limiting their chances.

I’ll be more positive when we deserve it, as I was last week when Newcastle were very fortunate to win and keep a clean sheet, but this performance is symptomatic of our away form. We struggle massively away from home against sides who are up for it or who are better than us.

We’ve got three central midfielders and no semblance of control. Continue like this and Huddersfield will very likely win or draw this.
Our passing and composure on the ball has been shocking. All 3 have been equally poor. In some case, when we have ball at wide areas, they have very less options to pass except for backwards, even Carrick has not done enough to make himself available for others to pass to.

I have always found it worrying how we are poor at keeping the ball. I think it is arguably our biggest problem. It's why we crack when pressed; why we often come off worse in possession; why our results against the big teams is mediocre.

We are usually worse in the first half of every game and tend to improve a bit in the second half. We are best at it when we are chasing a win or a draw in the last 15 minutes.

So I decided to confirm it in this game.

The following is what I observed in the first half (On the left side are the number of unforced or partially forced errors when we had the ball in our half. Call them 'hoofed' balls if you will but they are all situations in which we gave the ball away. On the right side are the times in the game when the errors or hoofs occured):

    8 - by 12th minute
    10 - by 16th minute
    12 by 18th minute
    14 - by 23rd minute
    15 - by 24th minute
    18 - by 32nd minute
    20 - by 38th minute
    25 - by half time

So 25 unforced or partially forced (by a little pressure from the opponent) errors or hoofs in the first half.

This is really poor especially a team as weak as Huddersfield. But it's something we do very regularly. This is why the big teams have it good against us. If were the manager of a good team and I want to play United, I would simply say, 'press, press, press. If you do that, you will get the ball a lot and therefore increase your chance of scoring).

Jose needs to coach the boys more on possession and we also need more intelligent ball players in the team.

Well my point is why not say we are playing well if you think we are. They shouldn't go after others post for stating their opinion about the game.
You stated we aren't supposed to complain when we play bad, and as you can see that's wrong. We didn't play well and most would say that.

Also, who decides on the exact frame when the ball actually leaves Young's foot? When does the pass actually start? Is it when the first atoms are vibrating or when the ball has started moving? I bet it would have an effect on the exact position of Mata's knee in relations to the offside line (which is like 1,5pt wide anyway in that still) A fecking joke.

Pity that ball from McTominay to Sánchez didn't enter.

True. For the avoidance of doubt I'm blaming the twat who introduced VAR, the twats that support it and the twat's that want to pretend "It'll magically get better for reasons I've no interest in producing" - not the technology itself, which of course as no feelings at all.
I honestly think it’s been made to look this poor, I was a supporter of VAR but it’s been a shambles since it started.

Needs removing from the game for now, a good overhaul and sack the people who introduced this version of it.

One of the stupidest things about it is no one has explained the process of going to VAR, hand signals, what the reviewer is looking at or anything. It’s just the ref standing there for 2 minutes like a fool with his hand to his ear. They must have known well in advance that would be confusing.

I remember everyone kicked off when goal line technology came in, and said it would ruin the game. Its actually one of the best introductions ever.

Lukaku loses the ball so easily for his size. It's all about effort, work to hold the ball up.

It's the same principle for rebounding in basketball. How hard do you want to work?
