I have zero confidence in this game despite Liverpool being in much better form, I still think we'll lose it and I'm kinda glad I'm having an operation on Friday so will most likely still be in hospital and therfore manage to avoid it all.

If I had to take a guess on how the game will go. Liverpool will dominate, and have loads of shots - but Houdini De Gea will save them all as usual as the man clearly isn't human, and United will nick a undeserved goal, probably from Juan Mata. And Mourinho will then say it was all planned yada yada. Without De Gea I'd be certain LFC would smash you off the park, but the guys unreal and should be the highest paid player at the club without any shadow of a doubt, he's the difference between finishing top 4 and 10th, that's how good I think he is and how poor United are without him, but why I think you'll win with him. 2-1 to United, the 1 will be a Salah converted penalty.

Park the bus. They have 102 shots, and 80% possession. We win 1-0 with an offside Smalling goal, through a corner which was actually a goal kick.

Well, the same applies for us as well.We are pretty strong at home and it would be a cowardly approach to sit back against your midfield.
Like you did the last 3 times we've met?
Our problem has been breaking teams down that like to sit back. Luckily we seem to be having less and less of those issues and with the guile of our front 3 and supporting full backs, we're pulling back lines apart.
It's going to be a tough match for both teams and the likelihood is that it will be another draw. There hasn't been a winner in this fixture for 2 years when we beat you at Anfield in the Europa League. Prior to that, you beat us there in the League fixture.
It's no suprise that Mourinho hasn't won against us with Utd as he's too afraid of losing the game. He'd rather settle for a point than play football and try to get the win. 4 draws from the last 4 games. Prior to that, the last draw in a meeting between the two clubs was in 2011!

Mourinho will be defensive and rightly so. Liverpool are a better attacking team but are defensively worse off and their goalkeeper is not the best. It's best to hit them on the counter when they are disorganized at the back.

Our problem is that we haven't been good on the counter against top teams. We have all the players a team needs to play well on the counter, but we are unable to transition from defense into attack from our own box.

Mourinho needs to find solutions to this.

SUBS - Rashford (McTominay), Martial (Pogba), Lingard (Young)

PREDICTION: - Jose sets out defensively, aiming to win 1-0 with a late second hal goal. Liverpool score inside the first 10mins which completely destroys his plans, and we start haphazardly attacking without much of a plan. We got 2-0 down, pull one back around the 65th minute mark and then concede another on the counter.

I think we should offer Liverpool the three points before the game, crank up the Hospitality, and hope they take pity on us and are quite happy just scoring 3 or 4 then declare, oh and give Tahith Chong a 10 minute cameo to at least give us some hope for the future.....

Klopp was very defensive at Old Trafford last year.

You scored a penalty and then spent the rest of the game attempting to cling onto a 1-0.

We didn't park the bus at home last year, we just didn't play well.

Either you didn't read my post or you didn't understand my english. I said it would be a cowardly approach not to attack at home and if we did, I am confident about a win considering our home form.
That was my perspective and I did not mention Jose or his approach. Never said anything about Tactics either .

That's why Klopp didn't make any attacking subs in the last game, kept his three defensive/central midfielders, right? At home, so brave he was...

Why would he when we were controlling the game with a three against your midfield two?

Making an attacking sub would’ve handed United a chance to win the midfield back and then we would’ve struggled to get any attacks going.

We let you have the ball and you were doing nothing with it. Taking a midfielder out invites United out of the midfield and creates more space. At the end of the day, both managers were ok with the draw. Will probably be the same on Saturday.

Yeah, but shouldn't Klopp then want a win more than Mourinho? He was a coward, even if he playacts all attacking.

We were in rubbish form and you were level with City at the top of the league. We were there for the taking.

The setup to start the City game was awful. Suggest you watch the first 30mins as it was Rojo/Snalling hoofing it to their CBs. After we conceded we started playing football and actually did well trying but the original setup was awful and we need a smarter strategy to counter pressing than hoofing it for Lukaku to chase. Sometimes our plan B puts our plan A to shame
You are right it was crap in the first 30mins. But no sure if that was the set up or the players’ contribution though.

You’re not in terrible form. We were in a much worse place going into the Anfield game than you are now.

You’re still on for the treble. ;)

We've been grinding results, but our football has been quite dreadful lately. Our last good solid attacking game was Everton away, for me. So, more or less since Sánchez arrived.;)

I think we’ll win this and Klopp will moan Mourinho parked the bus and out tacticed him.

My main fear is one of our full backs doing something stupid like letting Salah or Mane on the inside.

He replaced Salah, Firmino and Coutinho with Ox, Solanke and Sturridge. So 3 attacking players for 3 attacking players.

Oh come off it. De Gea is great but he hasn't been saving us as you suggest. Under Mourinho, we're quite solid defensively because we don't commit much offensively that is true. But to suggest that we're so bad and only De Gea comes to the rescue suggests you either don't watch us or you buy into the ABU narrative that we are one goalkeeper away from mid table mediocrity.

The reality is somewhere in between. Our level overall as a team is more or less similar to Liverpool's. We are better at certain things and worse at others which is why we are so close in the table. We are clearly less comfortable in the final third than your lot, we are less cohesive mainly because your coach builds towards that whereas ours is either incapable or unwilling. On the other hand, we are clearly much more comfortable at standing off teams and stifling them and I would put my money on us holding on a lead when under pressure more than Liverpool any day. I personally don't think that's a quality to brag about but it is nonetheless a quality and in a one off game like Saturday's, it can be the decisive factor depending on who scores first.

Rivalry aside I hope your operation goes well.

In the vein of where teams would be without key players, I wonder where Liverpool would be this season without Salah?

    Such a load of nonsense.

None of this is borne out by reality. When we’ve played Romero e.g. in most of the EL run last season, we look just as solid.

United are just a solid team with a capable midfield, savvy defence and at least one high quality goalkeeper (none of which Liverpool have had for quite some time). This means that when opposition do get chances they’re often forced into positions they don’t want to be in, which makes the keeper’s job somewhat easier. Of course it helps that he can pop up with world class saves from time to time.

Also can’t remember a single game Liverpool have deserved to get more than a point from vs United under Mourinho. You vastly overstate your performances. And De Gea hasn’t had loads to do in any of the games, beyond some routine stops which you’d question if he’d let in.

lol, they certainly didn’t play us off the park at Anfield, if I remember righty they retreated into a defensive approach and played for the draw.

Also funny how Mourinho wins trophies wherever he manages and you seem to be making out he flukes wins, has he fluked his entire career? Nonsense.
