Would have liked to see that TFC match but dad came to visit so haven't been able to watch either match. Good to TFC holding their own though.
You weren't alone. 99% of us couldn't watch the match as the Facebook stream was not working.

To be fair to United, they were down to 10 men for much of the match. Whilst I'll still be happy about TFC holding their own against United, based on what I saw in the first 20 minutes, we were mostly defending whilst United took their time to get into the pace of the game. Our attacks were also very much disjointed and hopeful punts/dribbles forward rather than anything measured. I do expect that, to be fair, given that TFC are far behind United.

Surely we've a few good players on our hands in this squad outside of Chong. Some great results so far.

Yeah quite a few, Burkart is having a really good season, Greenwood's the standout talent for me. Outside of them Laird and Galbraith are both pretty highly rated from what I remember. Some of our best players aren't even with the squad, Gomes is injured, O'Connor and Puigmal are both on international duty. Traore's also been injured a lot from what I can remember so hasn't featured as much. Loads of talent in the youth system at the moment, the most we've had for a while. Probably a lot to do with how we restructured our scouting system and the general academy restructuring.

Pretty much all dead on. Only thing I'd add to that is James Garner has looked insanely good this tournament. His vision and understanding of the game is far beyond his years and he has an incredible work rate too. Brandon Williams has also been sneaky good. But outside of Chong mason Greenwood is the standout. People here have compared him to RVP. Idk if he'll be that good but his skill set and style of play are reminiscent. I also think Ethan Laird is way underhyped. I think he's as good a RB as Mason is a striker.

You're missing one of our most impressive players this season. James Garner.

Agree. What's also really interesting is the make up of youth football with many of the emerging talents coming from families from sub Sahara that fled here well over two decades ago. This prior was evident before this in the Dutch and French national teams where some of the best players were of African decent and born in the Holland or France, or later acquired citizenship.
The make up of the teams are more diverse than ever and Utd have had to take a leaf out of city and the London clubs book casting the net wider in order to play catch up. It's interesting the similarities with PL where only the very best English players you will now see at youth level at the big teams...

Funny cause Angel Gomes could actually have played for Angola......

Yeah, Garner completely slipped my mind, he's been excellent in this tournament too. And couldn't agree more about Williams, he's quietly been very good every time I've seen him.
