Paris United has confirmed our interest.

Looks very good there, very all round. The french league is also a good gauge for physicality for the prem. If he can play a pass like the on at 1.40 to someone like Rashford or Lukaku, he would instantly be out best midfielder. Forgotten what passes like that look like!

Please for the love of god let this be true, exactly what we need.

"According to L'Équipe, Lyon paid €2 million for the loan. Lyon also secured an option to sign him permanently for €8 million."

What happens if we offer say 40 million euros to Amiens, do they have the right to accept ours and reject Lyons?

Looks like he's going to become a great player. Really could do with a mobile midfielder who is able to carry the ball at pace.

Would depend on what the contract/option states.

Usually though, I'd guess if such an option exists, it would mean Lyon would get first refusal on him (i.e. they can sign him for 8m, no matter what Amiens say, or what any other club might offer), unless the contract states they have to match "any other offer" which comes in for him etc.

looks a real talent. and like i said in the old thread, a CM with silky skills that can bring the ball forward? sign him up

I was under the impression nobody would be able to buy him, as Lyon would be properly signing him this summer. If we can immediately get him after he joins Lyon, we should go for it. Would probably be a risk to have our only incoming CMs be relatively young (Pereira and N'Dombele), but I'd rather a signing like this to someone like Fred. Either one of him and Barella would be good signings.

What I've been impressed with in particular is his passing. Really hope we sign him.

I think as long as he hasn't played a professional game for Lyon, it wouldn't be a problem to make a deal with Lyon.

found a facebook page with an article on him all the way back from 2014 and the dude that wrote it was pretty convinced he was gonna be a star even back then.

born in france to angolan/congolese parents. wonder if he speaks portuguese too.

More importantly, is he tall enough? :p

We need to start looking at young, hungry players like this and stay away from established 'superstars'.

What does that mean? Thought those highlight reels were of him making appearance for OL?

Unless those are youth teams?

He's currently on loan from Amiens. Lyon might buy him since they probably have first refusal, but that doesn't necessarily mean we can't sign him from Lyon afterwards. At least that's how it used to be.

Edit: As long as he hasn't played a professional game for Lyon next season, is what I should have written.

Oh yeah, now I'm with you. Though I guess what luke was asking was Lyon has an option for 8m - could we maybe swoop in and get it done "cheap"? (20m as an example).

Because if OL rate him as highly as those who watch him, on here do, then I'd say OL will sign him and try and fleece any potential suitors - or hold on to him for a couple of years at least and try and sell him for infinitely more in this crazy market. OL aren't easy to deal with, IMO.

I honestly don't care how we get him as long as we do! Obviously from a business perspective getting him from Amiens would be preferable. I don't think he's going to cost that much more than Tolisso and ultimately Lyon are a selling club.

Yeah very true. Only sticking point might be OL trying to hold on to him for a few years before they sell etc.

Never seen him play, but his WhoScored profile looks great

Tanguy NDombele Characteristics
+ Strengths
Key passes - Very Strong
Dribbling - Very Strong
Passing - Strong
Through balls - Strong
Tackling - Strong

- Weaknesses
(Player has no significant weaknesses)

A CM who is creative, is a good dribbler and can tackle + press? Exactly what we need.
He seems physically ready too from a video or two I saw, would fit into our midfield way better than SMS and would probably cost half or less than half.
Fred + this guy, I'll be very with our midfield options

Lyon aren't exactly a selling club, they are in the group between selling club and top club. They can hold onto players and don't have immediate need for money.

Do you think he is good enough to make the move JP?
From what you have seen, how good is he?

He is good to stay in Lyon, that would be stupid for him to move.

I'm going with this.

You have more insight into Ligue 1 than any on here. Very good looking prospect though; real drive from midfield, more mobile than Fellaini

There's a reason I wrote ultimately. If you make them the right offer, they won't refuse, regardless whether they need the money or not. Lacazette, Gonalons, Tolisso and Mammana just last summer.

Might be best for his career, yes.

So what you're essentially telling us is that Lyon are the French Spurs. :wenger:

Even as a joke that's something. Lyon have actually won things in the last two decades and they are not happy to just participate. The reason Lyon declined is because they financed their sport complex, they decided to put their transfer budget into it and use their academy a lot more.

Not really, all of these players left because they asked to leave, in fact Lacazette asked to leave a long time ago and didn't got his move. The general rule with Lyon is that their players aren't available from the club POV but they won't keep a player that wants to leave.

If you say so.

Isn't that what selling club means. Usually players use these clubs as ladder to sign for bigger ones.

No that's not what a selling club means. A selling club is a club that has for model to purchase players with high potential with the intention to increase their value and make a profit. Monaco are an example of selling club.

Yeah but they won't be sold from club's point of view, it's players who wants out and clubs asks for maximum price.

Like every club on earth, if a player genuinely want out, the club will ask for the maximum price.

you've never seen him play but you'd be happy to sign him, I guess you put a lot of trust in whoscored

Just buy all of the highly rated youngsters in France.
Job done.
