Anyone doing the Betstars £100m? I worked out the odds, if you pick the result at random (you have to predict the result of everfy game in the World Cup), to be 1.8 quadrillion! £100m? They should be giving £10bn! Or more. I didn't even realise a qualdrillion was a thing. So something like 1,853,000,000,000,000/1. Of course many of the results of the 32 games will be better than a 1 in 3 shot but even so.

It's being discussed in the WC betting thread. Some are claiming the odds are 6/1,000,000. Think they need a new calculator.

I'm not sure where you get all of this from, how is it 1.8 quadrillion/1? You only bet on win, lose, draw, and there's 64 matches. Can you explain the maths?

Ah, I was working on 32 matches. On 64 matches it's insanely bigger! 1 in 3400000000000000000000000000000! Boooooooom!

It's 3 to the power of 64 to my mind. So 3x3x3 etc onwards to 64 times. That is if you assume win, draw and loss are all a 1 in 3 chance, which of course they aren't, but there will be upsets. Even if you say the average odds were 4/5, ie 1.8, the chances are 21,700,000,000,000,000. In truth, it aint happening.

It's like you betting on a given numbver on roulette, a single number, and winning. Then you let it ride another 10 times on seven and it lands every time!

Tell me this, does Diego Costa start for Spain at the world cup? Would put a good few ££££££ on Spain to win and him top scorer if I thought he would start every game

Yes he does Emmet he went on a crazy dribble setting up one of there goals in a recent friendly.I'm thinking of doing Costa/Spain, Werner/Germany, Greizeman/France. One of them has to come up haha.

I've put a big money accumulator for the duration of 10 days for favourites on:

France v Australia
Belgium v Panama
Uruguay v Saudi Arabia
Spain v Iran
Brazil v Costa Rica
Belgium v Tunisia
England v Panama

Got over 3/1, put 500 euros on it and can receive almost 2.2K.

At least I get a substantial amount of money locked into something immediately and won't feel the urge to bet on some crappy games during the tournament.

That's why I got £720 on Spain to win outright.

This was before the whole manager situation.

If you fancy Spain, Isco might be a better bet and better odds. I read he's got something like 8 goals in his last 9 games. I got him at 50/1 for top scorer.

Thinking about going big on Big Rom for top scorer. Belgium should win their group and will be looking to get off to a flying start against Panama who I've been informed are shite. Lukaku is in form in his last few matches, has some great players around him and Belgium should do alright. Fancy him to smash a few against Panama maybe, sets him up nicely to plunder a few more as they progress. 16/1 at the minute.

Likely to get drawn against one of Germany or Brazil by the 1/4s though so could end up playing 2 less games than any team that progresses past that point.

I don't care that Spain have sacked their manager, the preparation has been done and the players are very experienced so don't need Hierro to tell them what to do. Costa and Spain for me it is!

Spain won't score many in the group stages imo. Portugal and Morocco are defensively solid. I would much prefer Werner, Muller and even Lukaku in the top scorer market.

My prediction is that someone will bang in 3 or 4 in the group stages and that will go a long way to picking up the golden boot. For this reason Im going for Lewandowski as the poles have a pretty good group.

Look at the last world cup the top scorer (James Rodriguez) came from Colombia a team who didn't make it past quarter finals.

That's my thinking too.

Saudi Arabia +1.25 asian handicap @ 1.85 is my bet for the first game. Can't see it being a high scoring game and could potentially see SA knicking a draw or a Russia 1-0 win which means the bet comes in.

Germany Brazil Spain all to top group
Peru and Saudi arabia not to qualify
Poland to qualify

7.0 - thoughts?
I think Peru have a decent chance to qualify and one of the 3 may not top the group but for the odds offered, it's a solid bet.

Put a tenner on a Portugal 4 Spain 1.

I'm quietly confident.

Dont think Belgium vs Tunisia will be that one sided.

Had a £5 on Saudi Arabia to win and BTTS, which fluffed.

At 3-0 down, thought I'd try and salvage it with £5 on Russia to score next goal at 19/10, and £5 on Cheryshev to score another goal during the match.
Thrilled that it was a two in one job.

Might go for Uruguay and BTTS tomorrow against Egypt.

Uruguay to win to nil I'd back. Egypt aren't all that bar Salah

I failed to cash-out after taking Spain when they were down 1-0 in the first half.

I'm happy about taking Spain/Costa double outright. Odds went from 66/1 to 11/1.

Now Accepting Positive Reps.
Did BTTS at Evens. Got Ronaldo in an Anytime GS treble with Griezman and Aguero. Also did Ronaldo hat trick in play when he had 2. Only £10 bets. Up £55 with my treble still in play.

Ronaldo next goal was 11/2 at 1-1 and a mate talked me out of it.

What do people like tomorrow?

Messi is nailed on to score after Ronaldo bagged 3 today.

France and Croatia double is looking alright as well.

Are we putting tips in here or the World Cup betting thread? I'm confused!
