Considering how bad France were in the opening game, they've really clicked into gear - though I suspect that's more to do with quality shining through rather than any kind of ingenuity by Deschamps.

Quality tells eventually.

Congrats to the frenchies. They've looked like a boxer just keeping opponents at bay and strolling through easily.

Only hope my predication of France or Brazil winning it is wrong if England get to the final.

This Belgium golden generations chance of winning a World Cup has passed them by. They've got a good chance at next Euro's though.

Great performance from France. Really disciplined in midfield, great balance with Kante, Pogba and Matuidi. Matuidi was immense and the whole midfield worked around his workrate going forward and back.

Mbappe was great but Belgium's tactics suited him very well. They had a narrow defense and that gave Mbappe a lot of space in the right to attack and attack and attack, it will be interesting to see how he would play against a more traditional 4-2-3-1 where he will have a full back and winger back defending him.

Good game. Congrats @kouroux @JPRouve (and the rest), must have been nerve-racking last 30 minutes. Think you just about deserved it, although not sure why you go all defence when you have so much threat on the counter. Not that you should care much atm.

Enjoy it!
I couldn't speak during the last 6-8 minutes. Not because I was nervous but it felt like a dream

And thats why I wanted to see France V Brazil. Belgium was good for the shock and Brazil for the laughs. But Brazil would have tested France more IMO.

Not sure I'd of kept my cool with Mbappe towards the end - if I was a Belgian player knowing I was heading home, I'd of made sure Mbappe missed out on the final.

Though that's maybe why I wouldn't have made a very good footballer.

Only Belgian players who should come out of this game with their heads held high are Chadli and Curtois. The rest of them have been dreadful.

Hazard was trying to overdo it at every given opportunity, nothing was coming off for De Bruyne, and Lukaku was complete anonymous bar messing up that beauty of a pass from De Bruyne(one thing almost came off for him) and all Dembele did was foul.

This France team are much better than the one that played in the Euro 2016 final. Mbappe instead of Sissoko, Kante instead of Payet, Varane instead of Koscielny, Herhandez instead of Evra. A very strong and balanced team and imo very strong favourites in the final.

Glad Belgium are out. Feel for Rom and Fellaini but can't stand KDB, Courtouis and a couple of others in their team.

Notice Pogba can play well, defend properly, tackle and drive forward in a midfield three and even sport a 'normal' haircut for France. Hope to see more of all these attributes for us next year and less showboating and poncing about.

I feel like Umtiti’s celebration didn’t get enough credit. It was fantastic!

Sadly it looks that way, a few of their younger prospects don't seem to have progressed as expected (Praet, Dendoncker, Batshuayi, Januzaj).

I would’ve kicked Mbappe’s head in during that last sequence, feck the red card. What a prick.

After France scored there was only one winner. I felt Belgium never quite recovered mentally, despite starting the second half the better team.

Belgium didnt really threaten after the 20th minute. A lot of crosses, nothing else. De bruyne was really poor and Lukaku was invisible, hazard pretty much the only one who turned up for them.

France were dominant and comfortable, and all the top players turned up. Mbappe quality, pogba very disciplined and did very well, griezmann probably his best performance with his link up play, kante same as usual and the centerbacks dominant.

France's world cup to lose in the final IMO. Anything can happen but I'd expect them to win.

I just realized that France will be playing its third WC final in 20 years, 3 out of 6.
