The halftime adverts haven't been very good this World Cup. Remember the Nike add with Brasil playing in the airport. All we get this time is adiddas spouting a load of nonsense about creativity.

Pathetic from England and I've been their staunchest defender.
Bringing in Delph and RLC for Alli and Lingard will do that. Sterling has been charged with leading the attack and has been awful. Belgium have KDB and Hazard in those attacking midfield positions. Those two elevate this Belgium side as an attacking force.

That Pep guy might be good after all...
An actual analysis of the players doesn't show them being revolutionised by Guardiola. Otamendi has simply been tested less and Sterling is there to finish chances not to be a runner.

Guardiola himself sees faults in these players and has strengthened with Laporte and Mahrez. He doesn't think he has done magic with these players.

Any who fit the bill in the under-20 or under-18 squads, perhaps?
Absolutely loads of them. Foden, Gomes and Sancho to name a couple. Hopefully if they keep progressing we should have a really great squad for the 22 world cup. I expect euro 20 to come a bit too early for them.

Sterling is the worst player at the World Cup...there I said... not versus expectations, not versus value.

Just pure dogshite. 99% of his touches have resulted in nothing. Slipping over, blazing wide, not crossing, not creating. Nothing

My take is they knew Belgium ale better so putting your 2nd team looks better than being dispatched playing first team.

If you have no expectations and still say 3rd doesn't matter is Essien's logic.

can’t draw any conclusions from this match, there’s nothing riding on the match, none of the players want to be there, the manager had even said it’s a pointless match - it’s probably the most pointless match in world football.

What does RLC actually do? What are his strengths? What is the point of him? I know Dier and Delph are shite but what is actually RLC supposed to do?

Sterling is dogshit. Somebody give Kane a penalty.

Does Southgate not realise how much extra pressure it puts on Kane when he knows the second striker just isn't going to score no matter what?

Yeh, if Lukaku sorted out his touch we'd have a top 5 player in the world. A genuine successor to Ronaldo. But you have to take these things with a player of his profile, he'd probably have to get considerably smaller to improve his touch and then he wouldn't be a freight train and shrug players off like they are children.
Agreed.

He still has time on his side to do that, too.

Unless Delle Alli massively improves, who can England realistically call up in 2 years to add creativity to that midfield ?
