Going to give it a 5. Think we needed two fullbacks, once CM, one CB and another attacker.
Did two of those things but Dalot and Fred could turn out to be very good players for us. Think the earlier Dalot puts Tony to pasture the better. One less fullback to kill our attack.

The strange this is that most people would probably be happier if we spread out our 3 signings, i.e Fred at the end of the window rather than wrapping it all up early. Obviously we probably needed an extra body in defense and at RW, but I'll hold off the rating until we've seen if Dalot solves our RB issue.

3/10

We added one player who will make a difference to our first team right away, and seemingly spent the majority chasing players for a position we're already well stocked in, albeit not with the best talent.

The manager had certain needs to challenge for the title. We didn't fulfil those needs. Seems like the club is at a crossroads again.

Not the best time to create this thread, give it four games. Most people have never seen Fred or Dalot play.

Has to be low because we've done so little to fix our biggest problem positions.

Our refusal/inability to get rid of deadwood is also annoying.

The more interesting question is not how bad have we done, but who is to blame?

Fred will be good and I hope Dalot is one for the future but we are desperate for a quality left back and right winger.

Poor window.

I think we needed, in order-ish.

1. Centre mid
2. Right winger
3. Full back, maybe 2
4. Centre back
5. Second striker

We have signed the centre mid and a full back, so 2 out of 5, or 4 out of 10, 5 considering CM was by far the most important.

Minor upgrade in midfield and two backups. Didn't address any of the areas we were actually short in. Chased a center back all summer and didn't get on. Didn't really sell any Deadwood (yet anyway). Oh and we got Fellaini to sign a new contract!

I'm happy with Fred and Dalot and getting Grant was sensible but we have no right winger at all and are planning on playing two 32+ year old converted wingers as our starting fullbacks all season.

The board clearly have no intention of us catching City or keeping up with Liverpool.

Needed a RW for the last 5 seasons, never went for any, only God knows why, needed a LB a decent CB. But United got a MF and a RB, so yeah 3/10 this window.

3/10.

Fred = positive
Dalot = an interesting investment in the future
Grant = a sensible move

However, to have sold only Blind makes this a poor window, for me, not only do we need to reduce the salary bill and recoup some capital, but we also need to send out a message about what being a United player means.

1. We didn't fix any issues and even failed to clear the deadwood.

1/10.

Bonus signing of Fred is nice.

But I maintain full backs and RW were our main priorities. Nobody knows anything about Dalot so really unless he comes good we've done nothing at all this summer.

5 since we got in a good CM and a good potential RB

2 - We got no new attacking talent when we needed at least one right winger. And we did not unload players that are clearly not important going forward - Darmien and Rojo (although i prefer him to smelling). Instead we focus on a CB when we had probably the best defensive record last year.

6.5/10. Probably should have shifted some more deadwood and a CB would have been nice, but we'd the second best defence in the league last season so it's not too bad.

From a commercial point of view it is a zero, a poor pre season tour, key players not happy and wanting to leave, players turning us down, media circus, mourinho's whinging and slating of players and the board. A real shambles in my eyes.
As for on the field signings Fred looks lightweight but hopeful he will settle in quickly, Dalot is injured so cannot comment and Grant looks a worth addition.
Not optimistic about the season at all

Jose is not a fault , he will have given his list to Woodward and the oard , is it not down to them ?
I'm not saying Jose's at fault. It's whoever's in charge of transfers, which would be Ed Woodward. Fact is that he's had 5 transfer windows, and two of them have been abysmal. In particular, the wide coverage of our scattergun approach to getting any CB is embarrassing.
