Valencia, Matic and Lingard fit and in training, but not ready for selection this Sunday.

Feet up at home.
I've always thought Jose was one of the more honest managers with the press.

His windups are usually easy to spot and he seems to tell the truth about transfer goings on.

This is welcome news if it's all true.

I think Jose played that one quite well. Probably not happy with Pogba but nailed him down with his quote about performing for the fans and his teammates. Put that as an expectation going forward and drew a line under it.

Great quotes there. Really hope this contributes to rallying the fans around the team instead of behind the media. Fat feckin snakes.

It's very similar to SAF and "respect the club" with Rooney.....Regardless of me, do it for the fans and the club.

That'll teach him for not keeping his management informed about what was going on.
Doubt Martial cares about a small fine tbf, the fine will just be part of policy so it had to be enforced

He really nailed it with that. Its about Man Utd, not Jose/Pogba, the media will struggle to spin this negatively and hopefully it ends weeks of idle speculation. I bet they thought this had legs until Aug 31st

Mou responded to Pogba's comment that he did it for the fans and the club which implies that he didn't do it for the manager. Jose's reply makes it seem like he doesn't care whether he gets along with Pogba as long as player puts in great performances.

Btw, I don't think Custis was at this press conference, which sums him up as a reporter.

Thought so. That tweet was open to interpretation and you know what this place is like.
Yeah, it's shitty of luckhurst to write it that way tbh, I didn't hear a reason mentioned either so he pulled that out of his arse too because the fine could have been for anything since Jose arrived.

That confirms he doesn't care maybe but saying it confirms he hates him is a stretch. Big stretch.

If the player is performing, what more does the manager want?

Jose is too intelligent. He may publicly say 'I would never keep an unhappy player against their will' but in reality he would never sell a player unless it was his desire to do so. He knows he needs Pogba, the club needs Pogba. He hasn’t attacked the press, he’s diffused the situation and probably would up Custis/the other fat man (Raiola) in the process.
