It's not luck by any means. It's a result of their tactics. And yea, mostly, movement as a commenter above also mentioned.
It’s probably the biggest advantage to a high pressing system. It was especially pronounced in Pep’s Barcelona. Every second ball seemed to always fall to one of their players. Happens with current city as well.
Agreed. It's high risk, high reward stuff and it really pays dividends. Not many teams have the quality to hurt them when they're vulnerable.

OK. there is not a chance is hell United would be 2-0 up away to Leicester.

You can have your blinkers on as much you like, you can call me a closet liverpool fan, but there's no denying this Liverpool team are looking something special right now. The way they're playing, attacking football, fullbacks on the overlap, reminds me on United of the old. Just my opinion of course, but as is the nature of posters on this forum, they will attack you if they don;t agree with you. So go ahead and attack me all you want.
2-0 up at HT in LvG's first season.:)

Alisson has only been in the league two minutes and he's already the most overrated keeper around. every save he makes is apparently "great" or "outstanding"
Yeah, I agree but it's just a little over exuberance with some at having a competent keeper, but I understand it. When we had Karius and Mignolet in nets, very often when teams got a cance against us theyd score, loads of times the past few seasons the opposition stats would read something like 3 shots on target & 3 goals. To be fair to Karius he seemed to stop that rot last season, until the champions league final of course :wenger:

Well I never called you that. Nor do I have blinkers on, I believe I’ve given a considered and complimentary take on Liverpool’s performance. I also believe that if we were beating Burnley at half time tomorrow after the exact same performance, people wouldn’t exactly be carried away. I think you’ve gone insanely over the top, mind bogglingly so. I also don’t think I saw ‘something special’ today or last week in the 1-0 win against Brighton. Your opinion and you’re entitled to it, and I’m entitled to disagree, you can call it an attack if you like. But it doesn’t make you right

Leicester were the better side between your two goals just like Palace were.

I think you lot are fortunate to have a 2-0 lead.
Not really fortunate since Leicester weren’t good either and taking your chances is a quality like any other.

Should’ve had a penalty on VVD as well right before the second goal imo. Hopefully we get out of the dressing room concentrated and quickly bag another one to put the game to bed. Would be great to keep another clean sheet.

Missed the first 20mins but from what I saw after that looked like they are in cruise mode playing in 3rd gear, which seems a little different to me as normally I often find pool quite chaotic in what they do, it’s like 5th gear all the time. They just look more assured and confident in their ability to turn it on and off when needed here, which is probably scarier than seeing them just go full throttle at teams all the time.

How so? They could have scored 3 or 4 in the first 20 minutes. Leicester had one half chance in the entire first half. If anything, 2-0 flatters Leicester

Keite and Fabinho are not hits yet at all.
When did we last sign a player that was as good a signing as Salah, Mane etc? Their big buys generally pay off. The last United one that did was probably RvP.

Veron is the only huge standout big investment failure I can think of from before 2013.

In the last few years we've had loads. Starting with Di Maria

If we can keep a clean sheet today that would be grand.

Surely everyone can resign themselves to Liverpool winning the title at some point. It was bound to happenafter many years. Its not like we wont be back aswell. Just stop feeling pitiful and start facing it head on ffs its like half our fans would rather commit arson than Liverpool win the league.

I want to see Liverpool going through a crisis. Will be interesting to see how they cope if and when they hit a blip this season. They're a couple of injuries away from having to play the likes of Moreno and Lallana.

They have barely rotated this season - their first XI is solid.

They need to win it soon though, with players like Firmino, Salah, Mane all impressing its not long to the big Spanish clubs start sniffing. But yeah I agree they look a real force this year, lots of pressure on Klopp and the team to keep this up.

As they say 'football goes in cycles'. Maybe it is our turn to wait.

Its the media wankfest and gloating that will follow for the next 5-6 months that would be unbearable. Would rather City win the Quadruple tbh.

That being said, we are only 4 games in and to say Liverpool will win the title based on getting 12/12 points or our bad performances are a marker for the entire season is ridiculous.

United of old. Hyperbolic rubbish. Unnecessary comparison. You’ve got a Liverpool fan here saying they’ve been poor, some pundits saying the same. But winning equals united of old. It just makes no sense. Like saying if Bournemouth are winning later it’s like united of old.
You haven't been watching their previous games I imagine? There's a quality about them which troublingly reminiscent of United under the Sir Alex. There is an intensity in their football you can't get unless you're enjoying yourself and have a sense of self-confidence. They don't need to play well for 90 mins, they only need 40 or 30 minute spells to win. We did that, in the past. We also played expansive open football which means the other teams always had a chance to have a go at us based on the quality of their football.

There is no moaning here, just an observation. You see it this way because you're stressed, like all United fans on this message board. We're just at different stages in the hierarchy. You're either angry or defying while I'm in the acceptance stage.

Yep. And the only thing reigning in scouse smugness when they look alright is that they've never won it.

We’ve not been great in midfield. Wijnaldum really struggles when he’s playing with Milner as he’s plugging all the holes he leaves and neither Henderson and Milner are that comfortable when pressed. Means we’ve struggled to keep the ball.
Still think our first choice midfield will eventually be Fabinho Keita Wijnaldum/Lallana.

After today Liverpool face Spurs, PSG, Chelsea x2, Napoli and City.

They do have Southampton after PSG but bar that game they could feasibly lose every single one of those games.

Edit - @InLevyITrust The same could be said of Spurs, who haven't played well but have also started unbeaten. Yet nobody here is crawling up the back of Spurs as they are with Liverpool, who haven't actually been tested as yet, unlike others.

Thanks for the woefully amateur diagnosis. Personally I just don’t generally believe in extremes of opinion. I don’t believe we are shit. I don’t believe Liverpool are like the united of old. I don’t believe Man City put the premier league on the map as a sky sports commentator said today, I don’t belive Gabriel Jesus is the best young player since messi as Danny Murphy said on match of the day last year.

I just don’t get the hysterics in opinion. Liverpool play Chelsea twice, PSG, Tottenham and Man City in the next 5 weeks. I’d personally wait to pass judgement such as comparison with the greats of premier league football until sterner challenges are met. Is that anger? Or are Watford just a little like the arsenal of old these days?

Honestly winning games when you're under attack for the majority, but you win with a few clinical attacks are bloody lovely, it's an odd sense of glee that comes with it.

Think they'll lose to Spurs but will win the rest.
