True, that is what happened with Moyes, but we hadn't spent millions of pounds on players at that point. Considering the level of investment in the squad under Jose, the board might be more prudent now that they were then.
My only gripe is who would we replace him with mid-season? I'll be honest I'm not so keen on Zidane, wonder if we'd give it to McKenna/Carrick in an interim capacity.

Starting with 3-5-2 was a joke today. With the starting XI, diamond was best suited.

I am among those fans who just can't decide who is responsible for our downfall (I feel we are shit show from top to bottom - Ed, manager, players everyone is a joke). But, it is easier to get rid of manager rather than getting rid of Ed (might get a DoF) and players (I still feel this team has talent to atleast be in top 4). We need to get rid of Jose and replace him with someone the players will actually respond to. Zidane comes to mind since he is the only available candidate. But then, we also need to develop an identity as a team, not sure if Zidane is the right person for it.

Man, we are a mess

I have been firmly in Jose’s camp but that’s it for me. I been behind him, maybe heart over head...but this is unacceptable.

The players are better than they are showing. But a lamppost has more composure and finesse than Lukaku and that is the one thing Jose will not change and we all know he should. It’s a disgrace not to bench him.

Sick of being an embarrassment on and off the pitch. Not even arsed about trophies. I want our club back.

Moyes got the whole season because it was SAF's choice.
LVG was not bought to win the title, but was made to shape the club after the moyes tenure and retain top 4 positions.
Jose was bought purely for title wins - for that he will be sacked. Him reaching top 4 isnt going to matter - he has failed at the job he was meant to do; which was to win the title.

Woodward will sack Jose in this half of the season. No doubt.

2 years isn't a bad tenure for a manager in the modern day. If we sack him now, he can save face by pointing to the 2 trophies, and we can save our season.

In an awful display, the best player is Fellani who has the subtlety of a rock, that tells us that time is up.

A midfield with no speed , a defence with poor positional skills and no confidence, really no skill in the front 2 and a defensive structure from the outset.

You are the weakest link, it's time to go !!!!

The fact of the matter is the buck always stops at the manager. He must take full responsibility for our performances on the pitch and they are simply not up to the standard required.

Jose has to go asap if we are to get anything from this season.

The West Ham line up and McTominay in central defence was sabotage. He wants out so he can disappear from his Manchester rented room with a nice pay off. It's what he wants.

The start to the season and how the season was going to pan out was already known. So not much surprise.

Anyone who cribbed about posters complaining about a shite pre-season and saying that it's pre-season it means nothing now hopefully have learnt their lesson.

Pre-Season is like a boot camp. If you are not going to have a good pre-season, you are not going to start the season well.

The players aren't arsed. Keeping Jose after today will be a waste of everyone's time.

The numbers don't lie from an outsider perspective. By reasonable football norms this should have been a "have to win" for Mou.

Not wanted to blame him as of yet but I’m not sure what else I can blame it on. He looks like he doesn’t want to be here and everything he does seems like a petty rebellion rather than a tactical decision. Don’t think I’ll be watching many more games this season if they’re all going to be as frustrating as this one.

Mourinho already played this lot like a fiddle anyway. He moaned all pre-season about not getting his transfers - so they'll just blame that. They just lap all that shite up. Couldn't possibly be the manager - it has to be more complicated than that. How can you mentally masturbate when it's as simply as that?

Despite the fact he's already had millions given to him and we're getting beat by shite teams like Derby fecking County.

He's done. I don't particularly think it's all his fault - the players have sadly not done their jobs properly - but it's clear that he can no longer motivate them, and sadly the club wont/ can't get rid of the non-performing players. No other option i'm afraid, but I don't see the club getting rid of him until, as per usual, it's mathematically impossible for us to reach top 4. Ideally, we should accept that top 4 is probably out of reach now; identify a style of play and get in a DoF and then bring in a manager to suit the direction they want to go in. Give the new manager the remainder of the season to assess the players and team - effectively a free pass.

Mou should go. Ed should go and Pogba should go. Enough is enough

It's so he can say to Woodward "Look, I don't have any centre backs. We should've invested in the summer". It's excuses.

The definition of insanity is keeping Mourinho and expecting the performances to get any better.

Can't the Mourinho out posters feck off to discuss this in the Mourinho Out thread? It's there for a reason.
