Lukaku looks very heavy to me it must slow him down and speed is his biggest attribute. Wouldn't be the first player to be allowed to pile on too much muscle at the club. Depay anyone ?

Poor. We're a nothing team going forward, and a better team would have punished us at the back.

It wasn't for the want of effort, which is the faintest of praise as that should damn well be there 100% every game, but the lack of quality over the course of arguably the key game in this CL group is shocking really.

Shaw played well again, the defensive unit had a decent second half and Jose and the players lasted the best part of two hours in the same place without chinning each other. That's the end of the positives.

Remains to be seen how damaging it is in terms of getting out of the group stage, will almost definitely have to beat these away as I can't see Valencia dropping points to Young boys.

So Mourinho has finally decided that Sanchez deserves to be pushed to the right side but then proceeds to start Rashford on the left.

Why Lingard is being left out suddenly? There was no need for Fellaini today as Valencia didn't offer much threat aerially. It's one bizarre decision after another. We could won this game with a midfield of Matic/Pogba/Lingard and the frontline of Martial/Lukaku/Sanchez.
Fellaini made the header when Kondogbia headed back across goal. Mou knows !

The effort was there but our players lack quality, bravery and skill.

Simple as that.

Only watched the 2nd half and thought we looked okay, though it reminded me of the first half vs Sevilla last season at OT where there was that feeling of this is just two average teams coming up against each other.

Can anyone explain why are we so bad at everything? From attacking to defending just bang average, set pieces are atrocious, our best play is hoofing up to Velcro chested Fellaini or Romelu "no touch" Lukaku and pray that someone picks the ball and attack. What the hell is going on? Do they practice playing passes, set pieces, crosses, attacking/ defending, anything at all? 3 seasons at United for Jose yet still the team looks so disjointed like as if he just took over recently and is figuring out his team. Ffs Sarri at Chelsea looks like he has been there for the past few seasons. Even Emery has Arsenal playing better football. Jose needs to go before United plunges to newer lower depths.

Huffed and puffed but failed to take Valencia down.

Distinct lack of quality from the team. Only Rashford, Pogba and Shaw showed any quality.

You watch City beat a better team away from home after going a goal down.

And then you watch us labour to that bullshit, puffing and panting to get a fecking draw at home to a shit mid-table La Liga side. It is infuriating.

Fellaini and Matic another 90 minutes. Herrera, Periera and Fred nowhere to be seen. Jose is killing us, not fast but slow and painfully.
Agree 100%, Mourinho has lost the plot.

It's obvious he has no idea on his best 11 and equally clueless on how to open up a defence.

MOURINHO MUST GO!!!

Just because Rashford hit the bar doesn't mean he had a good game. He was terrible mostly.

Zero risk, zero reward. This team looked like it was set up to stifle Valencia, and nick a goal from a set piece, which we might have done if we could deliver set pieces.

How are we supposed to move forward if every game is spent trying to nullify our opponent instead of trying to actively win the match? Hard to see where we go from here atm

Valencia shouldn't be starting games for us anymore. I suppose in our current state he's the perfect level for us, but he is truly dreadful these days.

How are you, as a United manager, going to play Fellaini and Matic in a midfield two, at home in a CL group stage?

We could have an 8 year old manager with more balls.

The bt commentator said it best. We are a team of individuals. There is no attacking nous. The whole idea is that we have good players who will use their quality to score a chance when the other team makes a mistake.

We had to risk it more. There's a huge different between not to lose and go for the win. I think Jose is a not to lose first then we go and try to win it.

I think we're likely headed into the Europa League. Back-to-back defeats coming up vs Juve.

France - can't win anything with Swedish turnips
Same tumescent slow stuff.
As always we would only start playing if the opposition score a goal. Valencia didn't score so it ruined Mourinho's plan.

For one or two games we played fast passing and attacking play - we gave that up because we won. Now we wait.

It doesn't matter which players are on the field or if we bought another 5, it would still be the same.
When he's gotta go, he's gotta go.

Shaw, Pogba and the cb's were ok. Martial did more than Sanchez in the cameo.

Well we tried second half, but there’s no synergy there. Players are low on confidence.

I was really disappointed at the cheering of Sanchez being taken off for Martial. Sanchez was looking the most likely to be involved in any potential goal and Martial doesn’t ever look too likely. Were people watching the same game? He’s low on confidence, but he was really bright second half.

Crown more moaned and groaned rather than booed at FT. Mourinho got quite a few boos when headed down the tunnel. Pogba even more when he headed down the tunnel. Bailly was then inexplicably cheered in contrast.

The crowd turning on individuals and particularly our better, more creative players ain’t going to help.

Next time we meet Valencia, we will be behind them in the group. If we want to beat them at their ground, a lot of things need to happen between now and then.

For what it was worth Martial at least tried and made something out of nothing. Shaw was decent and also Rashford started well.
The rest was average, Matic had a stinker.

Who is Mourinho going to chuck under the bus today? I reckon he will have a dig at the fans today, and that should be curtains for him.

It makes no sense to keep going like this. So, I am expecting woody to keep things as it is.

He is the master of nonsense.

We might not face an easier fixture all season.
Do you really believe this? Yes, Valencia is having a hard time with some poor form, but they are still a great team. They are in place 14 in La Liga at the moment but are 5 points away from 3rd place. That is just how close La Liga is at the moment. They have scored only 5, but also only conceded 6. United have score 10 goals and conceded 12. Valencia won the last game and draw 4 games before that.

Some of you really underestimate La Liga teams. They are elite team beaters. If Valencia would have 25% better finishing they would be like Sevilla and trashing teams with more then 3 goals left and right. They will get at that point and you better hope its not before you meet them in Spain.

Have always supported Jose, but I'm beginning to think he died five years ago and this is a clone on City's payroll. There's no animation, no passion, not in the manager or the team. It's just not feasible that so many players can be out of form at the same time, or that professional players can look like so clueless and shambolic and no semblance of a team whatsoever. They may as well be ten individuals running round a park each with their own ball. There's no cohesion, no understanding, no plan. I've seen teams that end up relegated playing with more ideas.

I'm reverting to my original theory that when Fergie retired someone put a curse on the club...

I don't care anymore. I want to analyze the point and what it means for us in the group but I don't care. Another 90 minutes of dead football. We were lucky Valencia were toothless upfront because they were getting in behind as easily as Spurs were for example. Difference was the final touch.
