Best XI of all the players managed throughout their careers (the version managed by them only is what counts)

Sir Alex

--------------Schmeichel
Neville---Ferdinand---Stam---Evra
Ronaldo---Scholes---Keane---Giggs
-----Van Nistelrooy---Cantona

Guardiola
-----------------Neuer
Alves----Boateng---Pique---Alaba
---------------Busquets
---------Xavi---------Iniesta
Robben-------Messi--------Villa

Mourinho
---------------De Gea
Maicon----Terry----Carvalho---Cole
---------------Makelele
---------Lampard---Sneijder
Hazard-------Drogba----Ronaldo

Got the big hitters out of the way... who else has an impressive XI of players managed? Or your own version for these managers is different?

As class as Robben is I'd be tempted to put Messi there and stick Ibra or even Aguero in the middle.

Don't think Ibra ever really clicked under Pep (though he was great for the first half of that season). Aguero definitely has a shout, but my reasoning was that Messi scored that record 90 odd goals in a calendar year playing CF for Guardiola.

Mourinho XI would be:
Cech
Ramos Terry Carvalho Cole
Essien Alonso
Eto'o Lampard Ronaldo
Drogba

Cech over DDG because he conceded less goals. Not that he is the better keeper but the formidable defensive record of Chelsea 04-07 is why he gets in the team.

Deco should be part of that midfield

Ancelotti's a really tough one as he's so many great players. That's skipping over the first part of his career too and just starting at Milan.

--------------Neuer
Cafu---Maldini--Nesta--Marcelo
-------Modric---Pirlo
------------Kaka
Bale---Shevchenko---Ronaldo

This is too difficult. Too many players to choose from. You could put any of Terry, Marcelo, Makelele, Deco, Robben, Ibrahimovic in there as well.

Alves over Lahm? Guardiola described him as the most intelligent player he ever worked with. And he just worked with the likes of Xavi and Iniesta before.

It’s between Trap and Cap for me.

Trapattoni

Zoff
Kohler Scirea Passarella
Bergomi Matthaus Tardelli Cabrini
Platini
Batistuta Baggio

More of an old school 5-3-2 which is probably quite fitting. Could throw in Gentile and Boniek to remake existing partnerships with Scirea and Platini respectively.

Capello

Buffon
Cafu Costacurta Baresi Maldini
Rijkaard Desailly Redondo
Gullit Nedved
Van Basten

Could ‘upgrade’ Costacurta with Hierro, Thuram or Cannavaro, but the latter two were ageing and the partnership is gold dust.

Probably Capello - too solid all round.

Piracy on the High Seas.
Not all of these players peaked under him, but purely in terms of appearances (and name value), Udo Lattek's hypothetical XI is quite something (by virtue of him managing Bayern and Mönchengladbach and Barcelona and Dortmund)!

Losing to Comeback Winning!
I forgot he even managed Chelsea
His Chelsea did so well, broke many goals record and had good competition with us.

Zidane (Juventus)? Carlo didn't do that well with Juve. I wouldn't include Zidane nor Neuer. Bayern players revolt wanted him out.

Otherwise it's a fair go of a tough selections. :D

Fabio Capello's XI is pretty decent..

Buffon

Cafu Baresi Maldini R.Carlos

Nedved Riijkard

Zidane Del Piero

Fat Ronaldo Van Basten

What is largely considered the best back 5 in history, the two best strikers in history and some decent creators like Del Piero and Zidane..

The only thing good about international breaks are threads like these.

Scolari (if we get to use international team)

Cech

Cafu
Carvalho
Terry
Roberto Carlos

Ballack
Essien
Figo

Ronaldinho
L. Ronaldo
C. Ronaldo

Even that's leaving out players like Lampard, Cole, Rivaldo as well as the then up-and-coming Kaka and Neymar.

I thought this would be about compiling lineups of players-turned-managers.
