Never in a million years would United have played with the urgency required to score two goals in the first half of a game unless they were two down.

Shame they can't play like that all the time
I think that in future, we should concede 1 goal, right from the off, on purpose.
It blows my mind how easily we are able to get back into games when we are behind AND when we are drawing, we are useless at scoring goals.

...but under the current ownership, United won five Premier Leagues and a Champions League (as well as a couple of league cups, and UCL runners up twice)

surely the current management is to blame, the Glazers aren't making tactical decisions. They didn't tell the players to turn up and have 1 shot on target in the second half.
To be fair I think they got extremely lucky to buy a club that had Alex Ferguson and David Gill essentially running everything from top to bottom. I think they probably have very little with the day to day running of the club also but they definitely are part of the problem if only for letting things get this bad.

We have become a commercial tool and sadly it will take years until the marketability of the club is seriously affected by the dismal on field performances, at which time the Glazers will probably sell up.

Should've started with Rojo and Jones with Dalot and Shaw.

Second half just had no urgency which is very strange considering the comeback we made in the first half and how much we attacked. I wonder if Jose tried to bollock the team at halftime and it's backfired?

Anyway, his time is up now surely shirley?
Ohh i know! Players can walk around all game and be sure that the 'fans' will blame the manager. Maybe they don't actually watch the game that's in front of them?

Draw isn't good enough. The start was absolutely dreadful, we did well to come back but Southampton aren't very good and we should be playing better than that.

Gave Rashford MOTM. Not a brilliant performance from him but made an impact when he was needed.

This was really hard to watch once again. I am not really whether to laugh, cry or just break the tv in anger. Its so pathetic watching the players have no coherence, passion or any will to win. Our manager keeps on scowling on the touch line with no plan to turn the game around. He needs to go and should take half the team with him.

Awful performance yet again.
When we get to 2-2 you would think we would go out in the 2nd half trying to attack, score and win the fecking match but no,we sit back and look happy with a draw..
Lukaku the biggest donkey this club has ever seen, needs selling in the summer.
Mourinho OUT!

This is getting beyond frustration, its getting depressing. No matter how much i or anyone on this forum complains or moans, Jose will still be around, United will still play like shite, top 4 will be unattainable, will get knocked out in the round of 16 in the CL, City will still play great football, board will still take in profits, Woody will do nothing as long a United makes money, it will still take forever for United to appoint a DOF. All in all not a good time to be a United fan nor it will be in the foreseeable future.
Ps Southampton deserved to win for their performance tonight.

I couldn't believe it when I saw the line-up

The first half an hour was embarrassingly bad. Rashford had a nightmare. The defence were awful.

Then Rashford plays really well. We get back in the game after yet again having to come from behind because every match we are reactive and not proactive.

Expecting changes in the second half because Southampton were there for the taking. No mustn't do that because we're so afraid of Southampton we'll go back to how we played before. Whatever we do we mustn't take risks or attack the opposition.

Put Martial and Mata on earlier, take off McTominay who somehow has become even more pointless than Lingard but at least Lingard runs about a lot.

The line-up was crap, the subsitutions were crap at the wrong time, the tactics were crap and Mourinho is crap.
I was furious at the end and he has to go now!

I don’t and, at least, use the correct apostrophe.
Oh but you do, saw you trying to enter Rectumville, while others were waiting on their turn

Couldnt be bothered to place face of Jose on the big guy and your names with names of others on guys in the background, you guys not worth of my time.

Have we turned a corner?

I don't see the point of persisting with this. Maybe the actual board have low standards or they really don't know anything about football. This is really unacceptable for a big club. Manchester United have became a source of entertainment for rival fans and a joke for neutral fans. Every game is a proof that either Mourinho has lost touch with modern football or he really don't want to be here. I refuse to believe that even Mourinho can be that clueless

This is not the Manchester United I felt in love with. Ashley Young is our captain ffs; Fellaini is our Lionel Messi and Lukaku and Matic are our talisman players; we're coached by a man who hates football and who divided the fan base.

I'm tired

Coward Manager,Coward Team..The only Time we go all attack is when we are losing
He is a fecking coward. He also lost faith in the players as they also lost it in him ages ago. And still he has the job. Feck that. Such a coward manager. What a chaotic performance.

Decided to watch a game of United today. I see them play without any system at all. Midfielders not linking up plays, not even attacking open spaces or creating spaces (why would you even play midfield if you don't do that?). Lukaku falling over the ball, can't even get a decent first touch in. Young? uh what the hell was he doing. Whining all game, while making horrible crosses, any 15-year old youth player would make better crosses than him. Southampton looked like a really good team, just because they played a normal football system. What the hell have I just been watching?

See if a basic opposition fan can see it how in the hell can united fans continuously defend this crap

There is absolutely no excuse for that performance after the equaliser. Saints were for the taking, yet we sat back took 4 or 5 touches in midfield and failed to pick up runners ahead of us.

Right now we have a team who don't seem to care, seem scared to play forward passes, seem unable to play 1 touch football even with no pressure and literally couldn't score with a fistful of cash in a brothel at times.

We are regressing on every single front, he either needs to actually attempt drastic change or go. Right now there is no hope of any progress because we keep having watershed moments where normally a manager goes or things change, yet he we still are.

I know some can argue that the players aren't performing and you can't legislate for that sort of incompetence. However that's all fine and dandy if its a rare occurrence or only 1 or 2 players. Instead its everyone, every game. Add in the maddening team selections, substitutions and the team not being forced forward when we have the momentum and its likely Mourinho's issue.

I used to be firmly in the Mou in camp and was willing to wait until we actually had the chance to find a better alternative. Now I'd just say elect a caretaker and write this season off and use it to instill a new style of play whilst weeding out the players that are genuinely not good enough to be here.

Our owners are not strong and decisive enough. That's why the Tampa Bay Bucs are also a shit-house franchise.

A has-been manager, average players with only 2 or 3 exceptions, small time mentality, negative tactics and owners interested only in money side of the game.

How to expect anything better taking all that into consideration?

Again, not good enough. Players were really poor tonight. Couldnt even get the basics right. Be nice to get a new manager for Christmas, though.

First of all you know just as well as I do that those titles were won because of Sir Alex. He was able to compete and win with these bastards in charge because thats just how special he was. Secondly I have wanted the fraud Moyesinho gone since the Brighton and Spurs games but I know that once he is gone these morons will hire another manager with zero attributes to match our club and the way we want to play. Wouldn't be surprised if they go for Conte and then all of this will happen again in a year or two. When you have clueless people in charge its only natural that things are looking the way they do.

the season is long gone and I just can't see us improving one bit under Jose.

May i add. It should offend a lot of people including us the supporters to see McTominay and Matic start instead of Fred. Imagine being Ed Woodward and Jose asks you for £50M to sign a midfielder only to see the likes of McTominay start ahead of him.

Another toothless performance from a team who show no desire or fight to win a game against a bottom 3 team.

Mourinho must go as this is not going to improve.

Pogba can go with Sanchez. Total rubbish.

Just a reminder that City has +37 goal difference compared to our -1

But we have a Newcastle level lineup so no real surprises there. Pep just from todays lineup would bin Jones, Young, McTom, Shaw, Fellaini, Young, Herrera, Matic and Lukaku in a heartbeat.

Is this season pretty much a write-off at this point?
And if so, can we at least stop playing the shit players and just give kids with potential first team minutes..
Finish 15th. Don't care.

Play Gomes, Chong, Pereira, Dalot, Greenwood.

What could possibly go wrong?

Will have some reason to watch us.. At the moment, its just a waste of everyones time.

Stultifying and exciting performance. Hard fought and important point on our march to the title. With a bit of luck my 7-0 prediction would have stood as accurate.

Not sure what kind of 2nd half was that, weird shit.
Yep. When they fought back I thought they would come out and go on the attack. He seemed happy to escape with a point at bloody Southampton. I would have brought Martial on a lot earlier and Mata who can take freekicks and play nice little passes round the box.
