One step in the right direction..... but we need some more: a philosophy, a DoF and a manager and some players.
P.S.: PSG is crying now, because we got 100% better with one decision!

I honestly think we gave him too much time - the plummet in form from season 2 to the current season was shocking and a few lucky wins here and there shouldn't take away from how bad we have been this season. SO many top players underperforming can only point to the manager. Mourinho brought two trophies here but this was never a good managerial hire.

I am now looking forward to games again :) Personally, would rather we gave Carrick caretaker role unless a truly top manager makes himself available

From Moyes' nothing football, to van Gaal's "possession" football to Mourinho's "pragmatic" football.

I wonder what will Woodward be in the mood for next.

Like it or not, Mourinho is our most successful manager since Sir Alex retired. He took this team as far as he did and we must thank him for the trophies and improved league seasons and leave the hatred and bile behind.

Let's never have this kind of cancerous atmosphere on this forum again.

This has been coming. As under previous managers players seem to be getting away very lightly again while chief culprit woodward prepares to feck up the next transition.

Shame mourinho couldn't make it work, but this season has been very poor and i guess nothing to lose with allowing a caretaker to try salvage somethimg or a cl run.

Guys, calm down. I support Galatasaray for 29 years. We have sacked many scandalous managers. Here is how it goes.

At first, you feel euphoria.
Then, when the weekend comes, you feel empty. Because, you miss feeling the hatred towards that guy.
You feel numb.

BUT ANYWAY HALLELUJAH

I am shocked. Did not expect this today. Thought he'd be given at least until the PSG knockouts.

What a relief. Been willing this for so long but now that it's happened, I almost feel empty.

Sorry he couldn't make it work. If Mourinho couldn't make it work, then who the hell can.

Was a fantastic appointment when made but as with lots of relationships, over time it just wasn't working.

There was absolutely no way he was going to get us back to trophy winning ways with his approach both on and off the field!

I think we have to write this season off totally, although what a story it would be if the caretaker manager won the Champions League :).

It's coming to something when your rivals genuinely want your manager to stay because they know it's bad for your club, so I'm glad he's gone and we can finally move forward and get a good feeling back in the club.

Nice sentiment but same was said after moyes and van gaal. Some.people can't discuss football rationally and stoop to.pretty low and immature levels

Always a little shocked, when United sack a manager. Something had to give though.

Not convinced, much will change, results wise this season. Not a bad run of games coming up, hopefully we’ll see a more attacking form of football.

Problems seem to run deeper, then the manager,
