because the manager we might want to get won't leave their club mid season...
You're right, let's not even try.
Because the quality of candidate currently available is piss poor. We should wait and sound out some proper managers over the next couple of months and be sure to get it right. Rushing will only result in having to fire someone again in a couple of seasons.
Did you read my original post about who I said we should go after? He's the manager many United fans have wanted for two years, I don't think it would be considered a rush.

In the past few years top managers have moved and we've been left with Moyes, LVG and Mourinho. If we wait until the summer for no reason other than 'lets slow down, we need at least 6 months to chose someone', other suitors might come in. Who knows, they may even move before us.

No brainer of a decision but I’m still shocked it has actually happened.

I’m sure the club will be all to blame for his failure now.

Thanks for coming here, earning millions, slagging everyone off, being a bellend, and ruining our team.

Another past-it manager? Have you learned nothing from the LVG and Mourinho years?
I want a manager who can bring a bit of happiness - get Pogba and Martial to extend their stay and play a bit of good football. I dont want Wenger long-term - just until the summer when we can pick and choose a lot more

His time was due but his work up until this season deserved appreciation and respect.

Loved his first season.
Had a sense of progress
2nd season had some great moments too but, not enough.

It made me believe again but, is what it is. It got too toxic. He hated the players, they hated him, the board hated him, he hated the board etc etc

Now, it's up to the players to rectify this!

Give it Giggsy. That'll stop the clamour to bring back the class of 92 once and for all, and will get the fans united for a bit.

We've been such a miserable lot these past few months, I think something like that would be a shrewd move.

Worse than van Gaal and Moyes for me. His nonestop shitting on the club and acting like a child because he didn't get his way means, regardless of trophies won for us and whatnot, I won't be thanking him for anything. Good riddance.

Yeah it wasn't all bad. The Ropey Cup was decent.

He was a complete dick with the players though. And no shock at all since he did exactly the same thing at Chelsea.

A new chance for several players to prove themselves! Looking forward to seeing what this will bring.

And so this will be a very merry Christmas!

One of the biggest mistakes the club has ever made, getting rid of Mourinho. It was the players, it was always the players. Now, nobody good will come and manage this joke of a club. What a sad day for football fans of Manchester United.

What a relief. Been willing this for so long but now that it's happened, I almost feel empty.
:lol::lol:

I love your honesty. Life does seem to work like that often times.

Probably not the frst to say this but,
Hallelujah.

Now give Giggs a chance.

First job of the new manager is to get rid of the jumped up Pogba.

F'ing hell. See you all same time, same place in 18 months to 2 years discussing the next managerial failure? I can't honestly see much changing unless the club mechanisms that saw Moyes appointed and all the bad decisions since then changes ...

While I dislike him to the core, and literally jumped out of my seat and boss started looking at me as if I've gone loco after hearing the news, I think after 3-4 years, we might remember his reign with some positivity. It isn't alot, but surely, I'd be grateful for the Europa League which helped Rooney and Carrick complete the set

Thank you Jose. We won trophies with you, so it wasn't all bad, but unfortunately it just ran its course, and was no longer working out.

Shame, I still like the man and think he is a good manager, it just stopped working

Won't be Carrick so Wenger must be a decent shout now

The record speak for itself. Mourinho has won the most trophies in the past five years and did much better in the league than Moyes and LVG until recently. He made us a force in Europe again with winning the Europa League and win at Turin and made us compete with the best teams in England. It's unfortunate how it ended but I will always remember the good times more than the bad.

Thanks for everything, Jose!!! I hope you live a happy life.
