Putting aside whether Pochetino is the right manager, you're saying we shouldn't get a new manager until the club has turned itself around?
I'm saying, that turning around a club in crisis is a different skill set than throwing in a manager we think will win us trophies next season. You need someone with experience to guide you out of stormy waters, not someone who's never been in this position before.

I'd go for either Jardim or Blanc. Get them to agree to an interim contract with option to make permanent.

However, it is very important the club gets things done right this time. I'm willing to tolerate even crap results without a proper manager in the meantime, so long as a lot of thought and planning is put into finding the next manager, and ensuring a revamping of transfer policies at the club.

Ignoring the awful results and the even more awful performances.

The thing i'm most relieved about is not having to watch his miserable face on the touchline or in interviews. From day one he's looked utterly depressed to be here.
Day one aside, he's been fecking unbearably negative since the beginning of pre-season this summer. So why would anyone be surprised when he gets sacked after his team play unbearably negative football?

Because he did his best to make our lives absolutely miserable, constantly spouting shite in the process.
Don't know. I am just feeling very bad for him. But happy for the club! Atleast that's what I wanted but this feels very strange.

It wouldn't. I've said this again and again, if your manager decides to leave there's nothing you can do as a club.

If he wants to come all he has to do is make enough of a fuss about it at Spurs.
He'd be in breach of his contract and we'd have induced it.

The defeat to Sevilla and his disgraceful belittling of Utd's history post match was the beginning of the end. It's certainly when I turned on him anyway.

Ever since then his sacking was inevitable.

He's going to talk a lot of shit about the club in coming months. Much more than Moyes or Van Gaal ever did. But good riddance, whatever comes next it will be better than this.
I tuned out Moyes, I'll tune out Mourinho.

Utd in crisis have won more in 3 years than spurs have in 30 years!

I am fully aware that now is the time for other teams to laugh - but let's remember you are a supporter of a team that has no history of winning anything in your lifetime, so to gloat is preposterous!
So you keep saying, but actually that's not accurate.

Anyhow, the point is that it's delusional to imagine that Pochettino, just one year after signing a new, long-term contract, is going to abandon Spurs and (likely) CL football next season to come manage a dysfunctional mess in the Europa League.

oh you do need a big name manager, trust me. i would choose poch over zidane, though.
Going forward yes. But this season is already screwed, so better to take some time and make the right appointment rather than just going for the first available big name manager.

Maybe its an age thing but I cant get excited about this. Don't like sacking managers. I totally understand why he's been sacked, and understand the euphoria, just a personal thing that I'd have loved to have seen him stay and turn things around (far from convinced he could of course!). His legacy is tarnished now. I'm optimistic that we do have some very good players, and hopefully whoever takes over the reigns can let them play with some freedom now. onwards and upwards

ps. Never in my worst knightmares did I imagine replacing Fergie would've been this difficult! Hard yes, but 3 managers on and still in the mire :'(

Feck it give it to Cantona. We could all do with some cheering up.

I could see him marching us up the table to the top 4 alongside a glorious run in the FA Cup where we beat Liverpool in the final after he's been sent to the stands for headbutting Klopp.

Absolute madness.. We've turned into a fan-pleasing circus which doesn't stick by it's own decisions but knees to this modern hype ..
As opposed to the complete opposite - not pleasing the fans week in week out?

The modern hype works well for other clubs. Better than whatever we have has done anyway. We're not gonna chance upon another Fergie by blindly sticking with a manager.

Would be quite happy with Blanc. In fact I voted for him to be the next manager in that poll we had going around here. His work with Bordeaux was quite impressive and he seemed to be able to handle the big egos at PSG fairly well.

I mean it had to be done, but celebrating the day someone loses his job seems a tad classless. On the other hand the forum mourns when an opposition gets injured. Onwards and upwards, i guess. Looking forward to seeing more and a better version of Pogba.
This is true, but unemployment is not the same to him as it is to us. Losing your job in the real world can be crippling financially and really ruin you. Jose walks away with a £24m payout.
