Because there's a potential for change. To enjoy watching the club again. To not be absolute banter fodder for every scouser under the sun.

I don't like that we're here again but I'm glad it's happened. Worried things might not get better still, but at least there's hope now.

Can't imagen Ole leaving his current stable job for a 6 month stint at OT. If it's not Wenger or Carrick, then Blanc makes some sense.

Would Blanc come in as interim and then move into a DOF role? Could cover both bases

Pity, he chose his own demise, with pathetic football and incredibly biased management.
That's actually the best part. Of course, he will always contend that the failure to get in a 7th CB is the sole reason for this abject failure of a season but we all know he failed playing his own way with absolutely zero interferrance.

I love Solskjaer but no thanks. It wouldn't be good for him but honestly, the person I want right now is someone to slap the players into shape.

I am sure Solskjaer would command respect etc. but feel there are better options. Throw money for 6 months at Zidane who I think would be more likely to do this than a full time gig. Nothing to lose for him, short term and for us the players wouldn't stand up to Zidane - he was better than them as a footballer and has shown he can win stuff (even if he had a greater squad). But the managing Madrid thing is important - he came into a dressing room full of mega ego's who were struggling and told them to shape up. We need that

absolutely no chance, top of league and still in cl. maybe in a few years. in the meantime you need someone competent and likebable. poch would be ok.
I was taking the piss because Poch is about as achievable as Klopp imo.

We went backwards under Mourinho - regularly getting embarrassed by no mark teams. What exactly are we going to regret? At worst, we will still finish outside the CL spots which is exactly where we were headed with Mourinho. The only way we will regret this is if we get relegated.
Yeah, winning trophies is way worse than playing attractive football.

Pogba posted a picture of himself ten minutes ago with a smirk on his face and wrote, “captions?”

He’s deleted it now
Says it all really the daft cnut. I find it hard to find anything positive about Pogba these days. This kind of reaction is just immature and downright disrespectful. What the heck is wrong with him.

Evra maybe? He was spotted with Ed a few times this season.
I'd love that but even as a interm manager we need someone with a bit of experience. Can you imagine him after a defeat "Hahahah I LOVE THIS GAME... Yeah i felt we werent good in the transitions"

Blanc would make sense given our best two players are French, knows PSG etc. Probably too sensible for us though. As much as I'm delighted the scumbag is gone I'm nervous about what we do.

I like him, but he may not even want to come here. As long as it is not another defensive manager, and is someone who plays football in a positive way, that is good enough for me.

It's Evra surely
Surprised he hasn't been mentioned more. He's been pictured at Ed's side several times in recent weeks. Not sure how I feel about it though - I love the guy but I'm not convinced he's entirely mentally stable!

It has to be Jardim.

If I'm not mistaken he was about to take a job 2 weeks ago but then it got cancelled shortly after it was reported. Surely United aren't that incompetent to sack Jose without having a manager lined up.
The worst thing we can do now is hire someone without thought or preparation.

We need to do this calmly and with an interview and screening process. Let’s interview a few candidates and choose the best fit - not just throw a 3 year contract at the next man when the dust hasn’t even settled on the previous boss.

He doesn't even have to get himself sacked. All he has to do is say he wants to leave.

Then Levy or whoever is running the club has to make the decision if they want to keep a manager who doesn't have his heart in the job against his will. And then consider the potential effect it will have on the squads morale and attitude if it gets out that there manager wanted to go.

You can strong hand a player to stay but the guy leading your entire group, is a different matter.
Yes. Then Spurs can decide to let him leave or not. If they let him leave, then job done. Otherwise, we should try to buyout his contract, not make pressure on him to make Spurs sack him.

Regardless, even if we pay a bit it won't be much if we want him. We pay 50-60m for players which don't even start so 10-20m for a manager which we really want is nothing.

United Ties.. Maybe we’ve approached Steve Round or that old white haired fella that was lurking around in the Moyes era..

Wouldn't even look that far ahead. The way Guardiola and Zidane performed having come through the ranks at their clubs, who's to say that Carrick won't totally turn us around and earn a crack himself? A lot can happen between now and summer.

Does Evra even have his badges yet?

No guarantees Blanc and Jardim accept an interim contract.

I feel bad for him too. Professionally, his reputation is in tatters. And that's a shitty thing for any man to endure. But the fact he's made so much money makes me feel a little less sorry for him. He can take a long sabbatical now, with his family, and never needs to work again. As someone who is not far off his age, I can only dream of spending my late middle age the way he is able to do now, thanks in large part to the money he earned from the club I support. A club I almost had to stop watching, thanks to him.
It’s generally uncomfortable seeing a once great champion reduced to an also ran, but equally it’s hard to forget how nasty he could be to the likes of Wenger and Ranieri when he was on the way up.

People saying he should have been sacked at the end of last season. Madness
It was blindingly obvious that this was going to be a nightmare season as early as the Summer.

Mourinho was in full on sulk meltdown mode and our performances in pre season were disgraceful. We had people saying "oh it's only pre season" but look what happened.

He definitely should have gone in the Summer. He clearly gave up then.

Yeah let’s get Poch who blew a title run in v Leicester, has trod water since then instead of kicking on, and has still won feck all?

If he’s considered the best candidate out there it’s grim pickings indeed.
