I have no ill will towards him, but couldn't care less what he does next.

Inter if Spalletti fails. Otherwise NT

Checking out of the Lowry, having Duncan Castles write an exculpatory piece on his departure and then a nice Christmas with his family.

A massive enforced holiday. He needs to take time out and find some joy. He's so bitter, deluded and miserable and that transfers to the players.

He is totally finished as a top level football manager with his attitude at the moment.

If he can come back with the attitude he had before Madrid he could succeed again. That is a huge if though.

Real. Doesn't require any specific skills and the transfers are taken care of by the president. Just turn up and hope you've bought better players than everyone else. They don't expect anything longer than three years, so all good.

Those saying Real Madrid. They wouldn't go near him!
I reckon the man's as good as unemployable tbh.
Most Madrid based journalists have been saying since Lopetegui was sacked that Perez wants Mourinho back.

They still worship him at Inter, so probably there if they bin Spaletti. Otherwise a stint with the Portuguese NT and then swimming in his wads of cash Scrooge McDuck style.

Portugal imo. On the club side i can only see Inter, which will rather go/wait for Simeone once he leaves Atletico. PSG won't touch him, they hired Tuchel after all and I don't think Real will be that stupid but who knows.

This would be so good. We need to get ahead of the curve and stop signing players and managers past their prime for huge money.

I was strongly in the Jose out camp but I disagree that he's finished at the top level. He made a lot of mistakes at United but given the right circumstances he can still do well. Good luck to him but I'm really happy he's gone.

He's past it at the highest level. Or at any decent level actually. He might get a chance at Inter as it was only 8 years ago when he won the treble with them. But he wouldn't succeed there either. He can't coach modern tactics.
Can Simeone and Allegri coach modern tactics?

He is washed up. I highly doubt Mardid would want him back.

Long term he probably takes over as Portugal manager but he might skulk back to Italy first

Fernando Santos is guaranteed a job until the 2020 Euros, Mou won’t manage Portugal yet. Especially with Pepe and Ronaldo being the two main guys in that dressing room.

He’s too young for that.

He needs to be smart in choosing his next job, Inter would make sense. I really believe he’s going to prove a lot of people wrong in the next few years.

As do I the way people so quickly forget and put all the blame on one guy is laughable. Curious to see what happens next.

I can't see International football having too much pulling power for Mourinho if he has any juicy club options.

I'm assuming his pay-off is a continuation of his salary subject to him not taking another job (anyone know?) In that case I suspect he will be in no rush to take another position.

He has achieved these things with some of the most expensive squads in the world, not with fecking Leicester. If you give him Bournemouth or Wolves, he won't fare better than their current managers. Whereas at Porto or Inter he could compete without having the best squad in Europe, it isn't the case anymore. He's finished. I think that he will get another chance at a relatively big club like Inter but I think he won't be good. He would want massive wages and I don't think that many clubs would be naive to agree with his demands.
That's ridiculous. He won those titles. Give him credit. The reality is that all the big managers in all the big clubs spend big. The exceptions are very few. I like to give the elite managers their dues when they win, whether or not they spent. And which top manager will succeed with Wolves or Bournemouth? Pep, Klopp, Ancelloti, Conte?
Jose will be back winning in no time. He may meltdown in his third season but he will be back winning.

Managers always take the blame. Its how it works. Most accept it with dignity and without airing their grievances about the players and the board whilst they are still in the job.

I think people like him have banked enough credit that certain big clubs would still want him. I certainly wouldn't want him if I was a fan of one of these clubs, but chairmen will still view him as an instant success type of manager. He's his ready made excuses for his next interview, "the club didn't back me in the transfer market" blah blah. That old adage proved true though, you can't lose the dressing room.

Wouldn't be surprised if he took a break and joined Bayern in the Summer.

They are struggling and Kovac won't last long, have a great squad and transfer funds, and I think it would satisfy his ego to win a major league title in yet another country (England Spain Italy + Germany). Bayern usually prefer quiet managers who tow the party line but I think some compromise would be found. Anyway thats a major job I can see opening up soon.

He needs to take a break for the next 18 months imo. Come back fresh with new ideas regarding his management/play style.

He'll still have clubs and countries lining up to get him on board.

People forget how fickle football is.

Wait until about 5 top teams in Europe have a bad patch with only two elite managers available. Who in the world would have thought there will ever be rumours of Madrid wanting Jose back? And would many people actually start a protest if United announced Wenger as manager tomorrow? Football is the strangest thing ever.

Correct. Jose is one like that. It is extremely rare to see him rant about his old clubs and players after leaving unless someone takes a pop at him first. Usually he will fire back with venom.

Maybe that's why the club chairmen usually consider taking him back and many former players or rivals don't mind playing for him again. The fans are different though.

No way he goes to Real. I think Milan, despite being succesful in Inter. Maybe also Roma If they get rid of EDF but they wont probably.

Nowhere, I’d be very surprised if Mourinho was in management this time next year.

Inter? Nah, there won’t be a lot of money available to him and there’s no real chance of competing with Juventus. Plus, Icardi and most probably Skriniar will be off in the summer and Perisic will start to decline.

Real? I don’t see it myself and I think Real will go hard for Poch this summer.

Portugal? Coming up to the end of the Ronaldo era and he can’t actually buy anyone to improve his squad. I just don’t see him in international management unless the stars align near the end of his club career. Plus, they won the Euros relatively recent and he knows myself he couldn’t top that.

PSG will surely give Tuchel at least two years and Bayern Münich won’t touch him because of his fit.

I think he will be intelligent and wait for Sineone to leave Atletico as his style suits their underdog mentality, his style won’t be shocking considering he’d be replacing Simeone, obviously there’s a exceptional squad there waiting and the fans / club are quite content with a third place finish, the Europa League, etc.

Im taking you think Guardiola is the best coach in the world then correct? well lets see his first job was with the greatest club team of all time. His second job was with at the time the current best team in the world ( Bayern) and his third team was one of the richest in the world that can give him anyone he wants. So what's your point? should you not be saying that about him then? Mourinho won everything twice, back to back with Porto....Porto. Then conquered England with Chelsea who at the time were not what they are now. Then conquered Europe with a side that was not even a top 3 side in the world in terms of quality.

He was not the write fit for United and his love for the game and him in general have been on a bit of a downward spiral but he will bounce back. Make no mistake of that,

Shouldnt he have done that when he came back to Chelsea the second time or when he got the Utd job ?
The only thing he likes to prove is he can still win stuff at a cost and he's a loose cannon.

I think it’s safe to say a career as a motivational speaker is off the cards. Or working for the Samaritans helpline.

He is finished as a top level manager but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him land one last big job on the basis of his past achievements. After he gets booted from that role, I can see him finishing his career taking well-paid international jobs like Capello. Do Qatar have someone lined up for WC 2022?

A couple of season on Football Manager so he can find the right club and signings again.
