I don’t think he really was the same, but honestly you can’t blame the guy, an injury like that will take something away from you, mentally at the very least.Makes me feel old when players who I remember as 'young' players are now retiring
I remember how immense he was before the head injury in that first Mourinho Chelsea season. Never really felt he got back to that form
God I've hated him when he was at Chelsea.Legend is thrown about a bit much but big Pete is a legend.
Proper nice guy as well.
I would top 5 of the premier league era. 4th after De Gea, Schmiechel and VdS.Fantastic keeper especially at his peak, seems like a pleasant guy too
Top 5 of the 00s?
Agreed. In his prime he was great. Such a shame the injury robbed him of that.Great, great keeper - a PL icon I think.
Always seems like a good guy as well. Could imagine him becoming a top GK coach in the future.
Look at us with 3 namesTop 5 Premier League keeper for me.
Schmeichel
Van Der Sar
De Gea
Seaman
Cech
...in no particular order
He won the Golden Glove with Arsenal in the 15/16 season. If anything, looking at the Arsenal defence, that's the most spectacular thing he's ever accomplishedLooking back, I think he peaked too early. The last 5 years have been unspectacular.
But Sir Alex used Cech as an example of why we took the risk in signing De Gea..
So thanks, Cech
Cudicini cech and Cortoius were all top keepers.Look at us with 3 names
Come to think of it, do other clubs apart from ours and arsenal produce great keepers?
Cech is a first and foremost Chelsea legend... what's wrong with meCudicini cech and Cortoius were all top keepers.
