Good pro imo.Just not the modern type of fullback people want these days.Best of luck to him.

We need defenders, why are we letting one go mid season, even if he wasn't playing much

Stupid to get rid now. Sign a pre-contract and leave in the summer. We won't go bankrupt paying his wages for 6 more months, but he could provide some cover when our defenders inevitably go through their next round of injuries.

Option to buy? Isn't his contract up in June?

4 million euros for a 4 month loan is not bad.
Figure for loan is quite good ,though his contract expires in summer we do have an option to extend it by a year.

Excellent news, good for all involved. Hopefully the beginning of a clear out and proper rebuild in the summer.

Under a tree.
Just didn't seem to workout for him here, not to mean he's a bad player, as he has good qualities. I wouldnt be surprised if he goes back and flourishes in Italy

Does anyone else remember the "feck Juventus" jibes from Torino fans whenever they were describing Darmian to us when we signed him?

Never knew he was 29. Thought he was around 26.

Wish him well. He is a top pro, who can be in the shadows for months and still come in and have a solid game.

I feel I've read this story about 50 times already over the past 2 years

Shame we couldn’t shift his carcass last season because we wouldn’t budge on 20m. Oh well, at least he’s off the wage bill. Wish him well, but he was never good enough.

He’s had some half-decent games this season, albeit he’s played in very few of them.

Would rather we kept him around just in case until the summer, as he can cover anywhere in defence.

He has been on the outer fringes of the squad for some time now, players like him have to be moved on to make way for some new signings to bolster the squad.

A Crack Habit.
Good luck to him, good player and model pro just not suited to premiership. We better be getting reinforcements if we're letting any defensive options go (not that we don't need to get rid of Rojo next).

Juve already have De Sciglio who is pretty much the exact same player, very weird transfer for Juve.

Good luck. Will be far better in his natural habitat of Italy.

A bit of money for him, while clearing out surplus players.

It does put us down to 4 established full backs, with one of those being Valencia. We should recall TFM, seen as the Tinkerman won't even put him on the bench*

* and tell Fulham to do one next time they want a player on loan

This is a deal that should have happened in the summer. Darmian's a trier but it was never going to happen for him at United. He's not the only one either. Hopefully this is a sign the club is getting serious about culling the fat from the squad. Thanks for Stockholm Matteo best of luck.

Asked this question in the transfer tweets thread but hadn't seen this one: how reliable is this source? Comparable to the BBC or is it just a tabloid?

We’re going to take up the option to extend his contract for a year before he goes to Juventus.

Very professional and nice player, it's a shame that it didn't work out for him here.

best of luck to him!
