Tonight is a very special night in PL history.
Liverpool fans will be rooting for Everton, and United fans for City.

It happened in 13/14 as well.

Everton went 1-0 up in that game and it was such a weird mood all round. City ended up winning.

Nah, we can afford to lose, Chelsea and Arsenal will definitely drop points and we have to play Chelsea again so this game doesn’t actually mean that much to us apart from stopping your lot from winning the league. The pressure is all yours I’m afraid
Oh come on we can never afford to lose to each other regardless.

What a game a though especially now you've got ole and are much more attacking based. For the neutrals will be amazing. Not sure about you but it's one of those games where i'm nervous excited and scared at the same time.

Fully expecting Pogba to have another party against these feckers next weekend. We've got nothing to lose and they have to win. Chelsea and Arsenal are still worse than us and will drop points, Liverpool can't afford a slip up. I hope we put 4 past them.
Yeah, agreed. They'll be far more nervous with so much riding on it for them. We can enjoy being potential spoilers. Although there's one clear danger in that: they might have far more intensity in their play, given how high their stakes are compared to ours.

"This game doesn't actually mean that much to us". Feck off  The Caf has been talking about it for weeks on end. You lot are fecking desperate to beat us and are as much involved in the top 4 race as we are in the title race. City won't win all their remaining games either.

Every game is a big game for Liverpool right now so this one won't be any different.
I hope you're right. As I posted above, my worry is that United will be less intense than Liverpool. We'll need the OT crowd in full voice to even out that discrepancy in the stakes. Look, I know it's Liverpool and that's always a huge game, but on a subconscious level the United players may not be as fired up as the Liverpool players.

As I said, I hope you're right and I'm wrong on that.

If our players are 'not as fired up' for this match then they dont deserve to wear the shirt.

They weren't as fired up as the Liverpool players in the Anfield game. Are you saying they didn't deserve to wear the shirt then? What about when most of the same players beat Spurs and Arsenal only a few weeks later? Simply, there's more riding on this game for Liverpool than for Manchester United (outside the obvious and usual context that it's a match between fierce rivals); it's psychologically feasible that one set of players aren't quite as intense about it, whatever we as fans hope or wish. Like I said, though, I hope I'm wrong.

We were a different animal then, managed by a very different personality. Chill and look forward to it. And for the record, after the insipid performance they gave, no, they shouldnt have been wearing the shirt that day.

The question on everyone's lips is can Liverpool remain in the top four given they are in free-fall?

I think not.

I have no doubt Liverpool will get top 4. The question is whether that's 2nd or 3rd I think.

If and when they lose in the title fight I'll remember this season the same as 2014 one, not City winning it but Liverpool losing it.

Now you want me to chill? Shouldn't you be arguing the opposite, given this conversation? ;)

Anyway, I'm never chill before a United–Pool match, and now we have the opportunity to kill their game in hand, I'll be less chill than usual. Let's hope the players are the same. It's all speculation really, anyway.

They’ll still be champions, just with a slightly smaller gap than before.

I've realised over the last few weeks that the vast majority of football fans in this country don't want Liverpool to win the title. Any sort of forum or newspaper article comment section, check the Everton vs City match report comment section in the Guardian, seems full of neutral fans desperate for Liverpool to slip up.

Pretty remarkable when you consider they're up against a human rights abusing oil peddling plastic club like City.

I think everyone is dreading the utter mawkish wankfest that would occur if the unthinkable happened.

Those pricks are still favourites. I'll celebrate when City lift it.

The only one of City’s title wins that’s really thought of as “City winning it” was last season under Pep. Their other two wins were more United choking a 7 point lead and losing it on GD on the final day, and Gerard and Crystanbul blowing it for Liverpool, more than City winning the league.

Statistical models 3 weeks ago had the odds at 80-20 in favour of Liverpool. But Liverpool have completely cocked it up that its slightly in their favour at about 55-45. I think each team are one poor result away from losing the league.

The signs are good. Liverpool failed to win when City lost to Newcastle and then failed to win to put pressure on City for the Arsenal game. Refs are basically gifting them games, but their play has been so poor recently that it can't take them over the line.

Spot on. The beautiful thing about our rivalry is that EVERY game is a big one, even if both teams are shite.

By that token, it's not just another game for Liverpool either. A win at old Trafford could have big implications for the title, both points wise and mentally.

No doubt that Old Trafford game is absolutely massive now. If we come away with a win it would be a momentum boost of indescribable proportions.

There’s no way they’ll bottle it now. City might be top but they have to play Sarri The Genius’s Chelsea on Sunday who play the infamous, exciting Sarri Ball. Can see City losing 3-1.

Liverpool have Bournemouth who will never be able to take points from Liverpool not ever, even though they have Sir Edward of Howe as manager. Liverpool to win 8-1 and go top again.

Liverpool bottled it. No way are they going to win at Everton away, Man Utd away, Spurs home, Chelsea home (lol) and drop less points than Man City. Reminds me of the 08/09 season where they drew too many games in January. They are struggling a lot without a recognized fit RB, Gomez out and playing Henderson/Milner/Fabinho at RB instead of midfield.

City deserve to win the league though. Overall, they have played the best football throughout the season.

A premiership title would look very out of place in among all those runner up medals, in fairness. Klopp wont mind.

What scary about Liverpool is regardless how bad their performance were, example the vs. Leicaster and vs. West Ham games, they just somehow manage to get a DRAW instead of an actual lost. It something, something out there that protecting them, like it fate, luck, it like this is their year, the universe want them to win.

Both Leicaster and New Castle game, I pray for them to lost, pray that Lescaster and New Castle just manage to get a second goal in, and nothing then nothing. Something is protecting them, and no, not the ref. It like they just meant to be (win this year). And I do believe in there things that just meant to be.

Until I see an actual lost, not draw, but lost. I refuse to believe Liverpool will lose this title.

No, I don't like Liverpool. Before it was just neutral, kindda dislike, now I officially hate them after they clear the snow in their attacking area in the Leicaster game, now I just loathe them.

My prediction is Liverpool they will continue rather win games, or DRAW games. And at the end they will beat City in points. And City will lost another game due to their inconsistency.

I adoreeeeeee Bernando Silva, I adore City. But it their inconsistency that will kill them.
1 win, 1 loss is better than 2 draws.

I'm pretty confident Ole will remind every player in our dressing room how important the Liverpool game is, regardless of points and league position. He has been right in the middle of it and knows the importance of a good match against one of our biggest rivals.

It is actually possible to be calm and focussed. Don't worry, I am confident OGS will have the lads perform, he understands this fixture......and then you can enjoy some Red Wine. xx

Journalists would love if they win it. Look at this tweet when Liverpool failed to beat West Ham who had shit loads of injuries.

Christ, that's pathetic.
As much as l dont like them but he actually does have a fair point, 6 injuries to Liverpool , 8 to West ham, West ham playing at home as well having a PL winning manager, having played less games this season than Liverpool who played till December the CL, they were playing with huge pressure compared to west ham.

While Liverpool have 6 injuries and play players out of position, getting back straight into the starting 11 Lallana who hasn't played for months, City last night had the likes of Mahrez De Bryune Sterling and Jesus on the bench whom would slot right into the starting eleven of 18 PL teams from 20 any day.
