I would've taken him at United. Free transfer and £140k a week for a quality player is nothing when you compare it to the wages we pay some of the jokers that play for us now. In fact it'd be worth it for the outrage it'd cause from the Arsenal fans alone.
They are paying him £250k a week, not £140k. Italian wages are always stated as net, not gross.

It’s 2019 and people still dont rate Ramsey? There’s a reason he’s off to Juve.

Aaron Ramsey is Britain's highest paid player ever. That won't last, unfortunately.

Even if he is on a free, that's the same as ~45m transfer fee and 200k/week for 4 years.. Still absolutely crazy.. And that is not factoring in the signin on fee + agent fees and all that nonsense..

I call bs.

Whaaaaat is going on in football? Must be £400k if he hits certain targets, no way someone at Juve has sanctioned that otherwise surely??

I don't believe it. The source must be telling porkies. My guess is this is an agent trying to advertise himself.

His high wages make sense considering he's costing them nothing in terms of transfer fee. That will be factored in to his wages. Although 400k does seem very high, especially for Juventus.

Compared to almost any other industry, football wages are all crazy.

But £400K a week for Aaron Ramsey?

Christ, if he is to live up to that, its going to be bad 4 years for famous people.

I'm probably missing something but I think Ramsey is a very mediocre player. His tactical awareness is very average and he's nowhere near good enough at other aspects of the game to demand a salary north of 100k...unbelievable!!

I can see why United are tying up contracts left right and centre now. Ramsey will now be their benchmark!

Even on a free transfer, those wages are ridiculous.
There's no way his sign on fees and other shit are worth upwards of £40m.
Juve paying a 34 year old average player £400k a week. This is Juve we are talking about.
Absolute bollocks. There's no way those numbers are true.

Another angle is Arsenal spreading lies so they don't look bad.

Yes, but there's nothing about sign on fee so I'm guessing there. Just can't see Juventus paying that kind of amount and a sign on fee on top of that. It would be moronic and they are hardly some amateurs in these freebies.

How do you pay 400k for a average player regardless of what he cost them.:lol:

TBH i reacted the same way when Ozil's 350K and Sanchez ~450-500K were floated, turns out they were on the money.

Yes, does seem odd. He had an offer from PSG, maybe he has a great agent ha!

Maybe it's similar to what we did with sanchez. Paying his salary combined with his sign on bonus over the length of his contract

Basically there is no such thing as a free transfer anymore, you will pay the transfer fee to either the club or the player.
