It’s so great that we have some momentum and positivity around us. We can really look forward to a big game. These matches are often pretty close and you need some good fortune to prevail. I will not be disappointed either way as I know that we will actually try and play football. Well done Ole to getting us back to feeling this way.

I am surprised many on here see a 3, 4 goal victory to nil. I do feel we will win, we're positive and confident... players feeling good about things.

But PSG are a damn, damn good side. They have pedigree as a club, will have a decent, vocal following and will enjoy the match. Think we may need to score a couple to give us a good chance at Parc De Princes. Mbappe is an awesome talent, Christ knows how we will fair if he really turns up.

Makes for a good game. A 2-1 sounds about right. Would be a very interesting return leg if that was the score this evening.

People actually think we win 3/4-0. Any type of lead to France is a success imo.

The game will be very interesting, also for neutrals. Both teams would want to set up to counter attack, but we play at home and they also like to keep the ball. I am really really excited for this one, probably since Real under Fergie. CL knockout games are just special, you never know what to expect. I really hope we have intensity, with and without the ball. I dont want to see us like Spurs away folding in the second half, we need to keep it up the whole game. Play it like a final.

Must be joking, this one is 50/50, i doubt we will with more than 2 goals maximum, that would be already a dream result. I would take a 1-0 right now.

Julien Laurens said the PSG team was practicing to beating the press yesterday. Looks like they expect us to come on to them.
    Hope we don't disappoint them.

Yeah it's a 50/50. Even with their injuries, they're more than capable of turning us over. It's likely they play a front three of Di Maria, Draxler and Mbappe. On song, that trio would tear up any defence.
I can't see PSG not scoring. Would be very happy with a 2-1.

I still think United are pretty big underdogs in this tie, but Cavani and Neymar missing for PSG are big factors in United's favour. This is by far the biggest test for OGS so far in his tenure, any kind of lead to take to Paris will be a bonus.
PSG have plenty of other players to cause United problems even taking their two absentees into account and United's defensive frailties will be under great scutiny tonight. DDG will need to be on his game - he usually is - and who partners Lindelof will have a big bearing on the outcome if United are under a lot of pressure tonight. Jones will probably get the vote, I'd rather see Smalling in there but who knows, Bailly might be the one who gets the nod.
United might well lose this tie, but if they do, at least they will have gone out and given it a go over the two games and not tried to stifle the life out of the opposition and having played the way we saw in the pathetic manner of the Sevilla home tie and more recently the thoroughly tepid and depressing performances in the City and Liverpool games.
As it is, circumstances mean there is a degree of optimism and that's a good thing and a sign of the way OGS has gone about his job.

Yup, this. Any win will do. With their injuries, we have a decent opportunity but it's not some pub team. It will be hard as feck.

Matic is one yellow away from a suspension - would be nice if he could finish the game without a card.

Yep. A 1 goal lead for us will be a very good result.
Across 2 legs, I can't see us going through. It would take a miracle.

Sure it's 50/50, but we're still going to win 3-1.

    Hope that helps,

Good post. This hits the nail on the head. There is cause for optimism but some people are getting too carried away. We are still underdogs going into the game.

Yes they're there year after year, getting thrashed as soon as they hit the knockouts. Don't worry :)
They got knocked out by the eventual winner last year, and that in a very controversial tie, in the meantime we got embarrassed by Sevilla, don't take that much out it. Personally I think the nervousness is speaking for me if anything.

On the other hand they play in a weak league where they dick on everybody else week-in-week-out, while we have ten league fixtures a year against CL-quality opposition.
Yes that's a fair point to be fair. We have much more demanding domestic games.

So Jones will partner Lindelof it seems. I'd prefer Bailly alongside Lindelof.
I’m happy with Jones. He has experience in the Champions League. I’d be edgy over Smalling with his grappling if he is chosen.

I predict an easy match for us, the difference in quality will show.

Hopefully, we'll see some terrific football from Pogba and Mbape.

Oh I'm not complacent, it will be a big test of where we really are, but if we don't beat them i'm fairly sure whoever they face next will do. They're horribly overrated.

We have right to be confident. Why not? We're at home, the form team in Europes top leagues and psg are proven bottlers in the CL. Their injuries have levelled it up and together with our current form tonight is swinging towards us winning. No idea how we're meant to be underdogs .

Any win at all would be amazing. I think they’ll score more than once though. I could see a 3-2 win if our forwards turn up, if not I don’t see us getting much out of the game.

We need to keep a clean sheet so we still have the possibilty of beating them on away goals. I'd rather have a 1-0 win tonight than a 3-1

Agree with all this. I think their injuries will stop them in believing they can win more than it will affect us.

What's that ? haha. you'd rather have a 1 goal lead into the second leg rather than a 2 goals one ? and please do not tell me that away goals count as double. this happens only when the score over the two legs is a draw ( and not literally double to be pedantic).

Your statement only makes sense if you are a closet PSG supporter.
