It's not fatigue issue. We're fecking pressing them pretty highly and managed to pull out mistakes from their defense one or 2 times. The problem is Martial needs to get himself involved more in these games. He's still capable of brilliance moments and can go on and score, but he needs to move more imo.

Also Lingard is just proving it's inevitable to upgrade over him in summer.

Away from both and Young, can't fault anyone's effort. Very competitive match and a tie that can go both ways.

We need to be more composed on the ball. So many players are guilty of rushing the play which is leading to mistakes.

I’ve not seen anything in this PSG side to say that they are a far superior team. We need to stop showing them so much respect and concentrate on our own game.

I think all our attacking players are capable of a much better performance than that first half. It was just a poor performance.
Agree. They had bad half but we must don't forget that Psg is playing with defender and full back in midfield. Basically with 6 defenders.
But we need win here. Going in Paris with 0.0 would be bad

Diving away team + weak ref = poor game.

It's not really the player's fault, there is no rhythm to the game and we're going to see a similar second half until someone sees red. European referees are just awful, and we always seem to get the worst of the lot.

Disappointing first half. PSG look the most likely to score. Our boys look a bit tense to me, passes going a stray in final third. Martial not in the game at all and has looked half asleep a couple of times when hes receiving a pass although the balls were not great.

Need to improve second half, lucky to be goal less imo

Atm looks like a nil nil type of game.

I think it's a good sign that people are unhappy with 0-0 against PSG at half-time in a match where we have to 90% kept Mbappe at bay. Shows how far we have come in 2 months
True but I’m more frustrated with our front 3. Not really created anything. Martial has been really poor.

Pogba has also been anonymous being man marked by Marquinhos. Also has a cheap yellow as well. Probably a tactic we will see more often going forward.

It's clear we still lack a bit of quality at this level but that's hardly a surprise. People are calling this a terrible half but that's harsh in my opinion.
Yeah our attack is playing against Tiago Silva one of the best ever defenders. We should certainly be playing the ball quicker through the midfield. We have the quality to score but Pogba needs to get much better.

We've comfortably been second best in that first half. Martial hasn't been in the game at all.

Young's crossing has been decent, but he seriously looks at risk of getting sent off.

Why do people say we lack quality?

Which positions could we improve? RB and RW?

If only the referees weren't so lenient on diving. Any one of our players touch theirs they go down very easily.

Theyre touch and go. I bet anything right now they don't make it.
You need away goals in Europe, that's how its always been.
Will both sides be as bad as this again?
Why would we be better? Today we have no injuries, we are at home, we have rested players. There is no why we will have better circumstances for the next one.

Pogba mostly marked out of the game, a lot resting on Matic and Herrera. Young and Kimpembe should both be off.

They’ve kept Pogba quiet. Not much for the front 3 to play off, but we still lack some quality there. Martial and Jesse injuries are a real concern. Think there’s a red card in this.

We’ve really struggled to take advantage of situations where it’s just opened up because of a poor final pass or it just being non existent and the front 3 sort of being on their heels for most of the half.

Maybe switch to a front 2 with Sanchez behind and let Martial and Rashford drift.

One things for sure PSG look a lot better than the last few games I saw of them.

I am glad to see that we are not just sitting back but pressing for the ball. Just one or two touches off from some good build up, otherwise we might see some proper attempt at goal. I think we can step up a notch in the 2nd half.

I’m scrathcing my head as to what Ole’s tactics were that half! I know we are not a pressing team but surely our players should be lot closer to them when not in possession? Giving a team like PSG the freedom of OT to pass the ball gives them all the encouragement to attack and if theyd played to potential we ought to be 2 down.

Tactics need to change sec half.

Fans have been poor too. Thought our fans would be more up for it.
It's been a bruising six years. Gonna take time to recapture the kind of atmospheres that so often helped us in these games.

And to be fair the players haven't given them too much to work with.

Old Trafford often responds well to the lighting of the touch paper, but the first half has been a non-event.

Young’s gonna get sent off if he does one more thing. Need to get Dalot on, even if he is untested.
Totally agree with this. Ref is looking for a way to become a star so far. I couldn't quite count them, but felt like about 6 consecutive fouls brought yellows. He's backed himself into a corner, so randomly decided to let the Shaw incident go without a yellow, despite making the 'dive' signal with his hands.

Guy comes across as a serious issue, anyone know anything about his Serie A reputation?

As much as PSG are combatting our left flank with two full backs and a man-marking job on Pogba, could someone politely let Martial know he’s playing in the last 16 of the Champions League. One of his disdainful performances so far where he won’t run for any ball bar the perfect one.

Pogba needs to use his maturity and status within the team to free himsef from his marker. Either switch with Herrera, or drift wide and allow Martial to attack the free space created centrally.

    How confident are you bro?
Before the game, I was expecting a very conservative PSG trying to counter-attack and not to concede goals.

Not surprised by PSG: Kylian isolated as expected and the team tries to have the possession and slow down the rythm.

    Quite open.
