We've had moments, but poor decisions made or bad moments of quality have cost us.

That breakaway we had with Martial unable to control the ball was a massive chance. Had a numerical advantage.

We could move the ball a bit quicker at times.

One thing that's a bit worrying as that after the first couple of games under Ole where we were a possession heavy team, playing quick little intricate passes, now we've slowly transitioned to a counter attacking team.

We are better when we attack them with pace, but too many times we are undisciplined and give the ball away too easily which has happened quite a few times in the league. We look pretty inexperienced compared to PSG who are good at slowing down and bringing the ball forward, but we are still not there yet. I think we can still hurt them with pace through Martial and Rashford if they don't give the ball away easily during the counter.

Agree. They had bad half but we must don't forget that Psg is playing with defender and full back in midfield. Basically with 6 defenders.
But we need win here. Going in Paris with 0.0 would be bad
Yeah, they look pretty decent given their unbalanced lineup. Actually, a 0-0 wouldn't be the worst result IMV. I'm pretty worried they will score the first goal that might cause us to panic.

Maybe Sanchez can step up now.

It's only good if they think they can do us in Paris. 0-0 is a very risky result for them especially since theyve had the better chances so far..
If this game was in Paris, I'd be ecstatic with 0-0. With Neymar and company back in the team, you have to think they'll start the second leg as favourites.

We looked nervous I thought. Still well in the game though and there's some hope. A bit about Young though, the ref will be under pressure to send him if he makes another foul.

It's not fatigue issue. We're fecking pressing them pretty highly and managed to pull out mistakes from their defense one or 2 times. The problem is Martial needs to get himself involved more in these games. He's still capable of brilliance moments and can go on and score, but he needs to move more imo.

Also Lingard is just proving it's inevitable to upgrade over him in summer.

Away from both and Young, can't fault anyone's effort. Very competitive match and a tie that can go both ways.

I’m one of the few that really likes Lingard, but he’s a level or two below what we need in that position if we are to become challengers for the PL and CL. A brilliant squad player, just not quite good enough to be the game changer we need.

We look inexperienced somehow, nerves are getting the best of us at times. Hopefully Sanchez will bring in more composure.

Diving away team + weak ref = poor game.

It's not really the player's fault, there is no rhythm to the game and we're going to see a similar second half until someone sees red. European referees are just awful, and we always seem to get the worst of the lot.

    100 percent this.

It might be just my TV coverage.. but OT didn't sound like it was rocking?

PSG fans were literally jumping up and down every time the camera showed them.

Di Maria playing like he never left by the way, our best defender really.

Depends on the game really, even if first few matches we countered a lot.

Martial and Shaw has let us down so far. Dani Alves and Kehrer are weak links to this psg side and we are not applying enough pressure to that side. PSG are weak out wide and we seem to be playing to narrow. Hopefully, Sanchez will be able to change that.

feck sakes. People need to calm down. We're struggling to click up front but it's still an even game. PSG have had one offside chance.

This is tense CL football - what did people expect?!

They've looked the more dangerous team,we look fearless (which is awesome) but lacking in ideas. Struggling to see where a goal is coming from for us sadly. predicted 3-2 but on this basis,I'm going 0-2.....two smash and grab goals in the last 20mins for them.

Agreed. Can’t believe how negative so many in this thread are being. I think we have had a decent first half. Matic and Lingard have done particularly well. Martial and Pogba need to get on the ball more and we will look even more damgerous. Really hope Sanchez can step up.
Pogba is getting marker man to man as I have noticed. Almost every time he gets the ball someone marks and follows him till he loses the ball or passes it. Gonna be pretty hard for him tonight so I guess the rest of players need to work even more to lessen the pressure on him.

PSG's plan looks like stop Pogba and that's enough to kill our momentum.

Very poor game, but it happens quite often in UCL. Both clubs more interested to not make mistakes rather than to attack.
PSG is not confident, which explains why the team doesn't take risks.

Insert Neymar/Cavani and the game would be very different

Why would we be better? Today we have no injuries, we are at home, we have rested players. There is no why we will have better circumstances for the next one.
Because we are failing to even make the simply passes.
Do you think this is us at our best then? There's no scope for Improvement at all?
Even being a counter attack side away from home could suit us better than this
    Its all in play.

I'd do this 2nd half. Martials been poor for once and now probably injured. Give Pogba that free role.

Both teams have been very sloppy with the final ball or ball before the final ball. Mbappe is terrifying even when he isn't at his best, sometimes just by being on the pitch. I think overall it has been a very even game so far between a team missing important players and a team who look nervous not to buckle to the pressure that their recent improvement creates. I think Sanchez could have a big moment here just by having the calmness and guile to pick out one good pass when we get in a good position.

Poor game no quality off either side. Old needs to give the players a kick up the arse. Our attack isn't doing anything. That run by pogba our only decent try
