Yes, hat off to him. There's no harm in rotating the squad when it fits the team you are up against or when you have no choice. The first 2 goals were a hark back to Mourinho and the last counter attack was pure Ole. It's shows real intelligence that we can play both styles.

Really glad he got a couple of goals at last. He is such an top bloke that I would love to see him be a top top striker and cement his place as a club legend. Sometimes he plays so bad and when he is off his touch is just deplorable. Love his comments about Luke tonight, sums up what an all round good bloke Rom is.

We saw the best and worst of him at times today all in one go.

2 well taken goals but should have had a hat trick with that first chance!

His touch was intermittent but when it mattered he held it up well and created Young’s goal which was so important.

Scored two good goals and was good in the build up for the 3rd but his 1st touch really triggered my OCD, please can we have a gif of that please!

Fantastic finish for the first goal, real striker's instinct for the second. Thought his highlight was when he'd had enough of Zaha being a prick and just went through the back of him. He stepped up when we needed him the most, he deserves a lot of credit for tonight. He barely put a foot wrong and was working really hard, constantly making himself available for the pass, well done Rom.

You can’t fault his attitude.
I’d back him to come good again. Decent performance vs Palace and he has always said the right things.

I guess his fans are going to slaughter me now but..

Two great goals, well done, but he still fecks up the most basic things. Same vs Liverpool. He hit a peach of a cross to Smalling and a clever pass to Lindgaard that deserved better finishes, but then he can miscontrol a simple pass or fail to find a team mate when under no pressure

Just occurred to me when watching him point to the sky in his celebrations, did we ever actually find out what that compassionate leave was for?

You fall for the bait every single time when it comes to Lukaku, you must trowel every game he plays just to get all of his touches so you can post in this thread.
Then stop fecking asking for it

He mixes great football with bad. You never know what type of game he'll have.

I think he's just always going to be like that. He's always going to have at least one or two baffling moments of terribleness every game even when he's in form.

Still I thought his hold up play was miles better tonight and he produced two lovely finishes.

Hope he can go on a run now, Southampton on Saturday should be a good game for him.

Usual stuff. He's clearly getting out of his rough patch but it's hard to see how he fits in the team. His touch is just so bad.

As long as he keeps scoring more goals than his touches that fecks whole attacks up, he'll be amazing  I take this Lukaku every game if I had the choice. No, but to be honest he did really well in most situations this game. He had a few absolutely shocking touches but as annoying as those were he was vital to all our goals today, and he held up the ball better. Good improvement from him over all and very important that, with so many injuries. Magnificent finishes to be honest.

My MOTM, he was asked to step up and he did, he won us the game with his goal, 2 very good goals at that. Hopefully he goes on a goal scoring run now, we are going to need him.

Still like him better out wide but he's getting his confidence back.
Hopefully this is the start of his 12 goals in 12 games type runs.

Pleased for him but let's not get too carried away, this was Palace after all. If only he could turn up in the more important games once in a while

The main problem is when he doesn't score you end with these gifs and memes as his only contribution of the game. Kinda the same with Martial when he doesn't score you end with a game of miss passes and losing the ball.

If he's scoring every game like today, there'll be no reason to give a feck about these memes.

The key is you will never score every game so you have to ensure a degree of contribution whenever you play and let the goals come on their own. That's what I wist from some of our players.

Something like Rashford who may not score in several games but he has a certain degree of contribution away from goals you can't knock out.

Unlike Sanchez - Lukaku is a very useful squad player. We all shit on him, me as much as anyone, but I feel like I've done it less so since Ole came in. His role in the squad is what it should be now, my biggest problem before was that he's not good enough for the role he had, so now that it changed, it's all good. An expensive squad player, but it is what it is. Very useful to have a big physical striker like him who can play in a couple positions and do a good job and get a good amount of goals over a season regardless. Also another point in his favor is that he does get a lot of chances. If he can get his full confidence back and not get so many dips in confidence, be content with his role in the squad and always hungry to get a start, then he'll be long term useful.

2 nice goals but please can someone make a video of all of his poor 1st touches.
This is a horrible post. You clearly do not wish any real progress for Lukaku. He bangs in two goals, in a tough, tough game. He receives some torrid commentary and abuse on here.

And you add to this by focusing on the negative. Horrible.

He's joking, mate. One of the reasonable guys in this thread, actually.

I don't get why people take offence at wanting to see his poor touches (I'm still waiting for that one vs Chelsea) because we want him to do well but he does have some trampoline feet on him. Tonight was such a variety of class (excellent finish for the first goal), power (second goal), hold up play (third goal) and then the awful miss mixed in with some comedy touches that he's firmly becoming a favourite of mine :)

110 Premier League goals before 25.

Complain about his touch all you want. He scores goals.

Had written a post criticising the people asking for footage of mistakes Lukaku made so they can keep slating him even after he's scored two goals. Then I belatedly realised they might be joking. My bad (I think).

He may have a first touch of a sledgehammer as long as he's scoring and assisting important goals when you ask me. Haven't exactly been only wank under Ole, more like a mixed bag with some vital contributions among pure shitness. He's getting swarmed because of his 'form' under Mourinho when he was terrible to say the least.
