We are probably all guilty of being a little bit delusional at times, overhyping players etc, none of us are experts. What is the most delusional thing you can recall saying or indeed heard another supporter saying? I'll give you mine.

I once said Darmien was the best right back in the world

I once said Januzaj would reach Ronaldo level (i think a few of us thought that)

I once said I wanted Mourinho to manage us for 15 years or more

I once told a girl at a house party I had the strongest teeth in the world and could open any bottle with my teeth.

She passed me a beer and I cut all my mouth open and broke a load of my teeth and had to leave the party to go to an emergency dentist.

I was behind Moyes when he was appointed. Jose then Pep were my first choices, but I thought Moyes would do well.

I thought Schneiderlin would be great for us

I was Jose in until the Liverpool game. So were the board, it turned out.

I said Mourinho was the proper fit for us despite of him starting to lose his shit.

I guess I was just desperate.

I thought Moyes could possibly take us to the next level. I remember thinking that with SAF gone we would finally start spending (especially for a midfielder).. Just goes to show how special the man was.

I told a friend of mine that Silvestre was awesome and would hold the left defense position for years, while my friend said that he would never move Lizarazu... boy was I delusional

I am not sure what I did say, but I did have some faith Moyes would turn it around for a long time mainly based on thinking he could be as good as SAF given that he was picked by him. It was really low when Swansea knocked us out of the cup though and Spurs did beat us in the league both at Olf Trafford.
Being knocked out by Sunderland on penalties really killed my faith though. We had the game, but the poor mentality really just destroyed us in that one. At that point I just did feel that Moyes would just never be a winner.

I thought Gourcuff was going to be the next Zidane and that we would sign him.

Back in the Fergie days I believed Phil Jones would become a top class CB. Not Duncan Edwards heights, but true quality.

I believed Depay was going to become quality for us.

Wow that is quite a lot to think we would improve with Moyes. I guess the more optimistic of us did think he would be able to keep it up at best.

I think at the time most of these were fair enough. Wrong but hardly delusional

Same.

I was certain he'd be exactly what we needed, to the point that I was shitting it that he was Arsenal-bound because I thought he was exactly what they needed too.

Good god he was shit.

I was sure Cleverly over Pogba was the right choice. It was during that period of trying to play like Barca since they beat us in those two Cl finals.

We ruined him as well. He was excellent for Southampton, and after leaving here was never seen again.

Madnes Pogba couldn't get a game, when our midfield going crying out for a class cm, and we had the hottest prospect in the world itching to get some games and prove himself.

I also had a period I believed Clevery was the natural heir to Scholes.

Honestly. I was good enough to play for United. I was told loads of times that I was.
I was probably just good enough maybe to be a sub in the premier league.
I lie to myself that it was the broken leg I suffered. Still doubt myself on both sides of the coin. My friend should have been world class though

I didn't believe the club would buy a 50 million midfielder in Fred unless he was class and slotted straight into the first team.

Heard: Jones might still become even better than Duncan Edwards.

Said: Believed Ole would become the next SAF since 2006-2015. Sometimes it's a thin line between being delusional and a realist:lol:

Myself:

"Madrid won't win another UCL in years" (after April-May 2015)

"Chelsea will never win a UCL" (after April 2009)

"Man Utd. will at least win one PL with Van Gaal as manager; that man just wins leagues everywhere he goes"

Heard:

Hey, just too much BS from Real Madrid fans over all these years.

I didn't know how to drive and I was out on a boat(a really slow one) with some fishing with some friends. I've had a few beers and We were about to return back and my friends tried to take tha control back because they thought I might struggle to dock. I told them "Guy's it's hardly rocket science" before going on to ram the boat on the pier.

Yaya Toure is washed up and City got duped. He then tore the league up.

At some point I thought Anderson was going to be our Midfield general. I thought welbeck would turn into a goal machine in his mid 20's.

Delusional thing said: Liverpool will be the most successful club when the Premier league was formed. That speculation turned out to be a joke.

Delusional thing heard recently: Pogba is the best midfielder in the world today. That’s equally funny.
